The One Where Monica Makes It Big

Monica's Kitchen

Ross: "I can't believe that Monica's first day on opening the restaurant will be booming, good thing we have a VIP spot for ourselves if not, we may not be able to eat here"

Joey: "that's not true, we would still be able to get a meal here, this is Monica we are talking about"

Phoebe: "you said it yourself, this is Monica we are talking about, she will first treat her customers well before even reasoning us"

Rachel: "come on Phoebe, you should have some faith in her"

Today is Monica's first day opening the restaurant and to say it was a success would be an understatement. The moment she opened up the restaurant, there where a large number of people flocking in, just to see, the new restaurant that has been the talk of the town recently and it didn't let them down instead, it was beyond their expectations, calling the restaurant a 5 Star restaurant would be demeaning the restaurant, heck even a 6 star do not do justice to it, this is a god level restaurant.

As if knowing something like this before hand, Adam made a VIP space for only their circle so that they can always have a place to hang out and not only central perk and sometimes, maybe help out Monica around the restaurant.

Monica walked up to the group with smiles on her face as she was very happy on her successful opening today.

Monica: "what do you guys think? It's amazing, isn't it? The furnishings, the layout and everything else, Adam really out did himself on this one, I just hope that the days ahead will be more than today"

Monica didn't even let them answer any of the question she asked, she wanted to leave when she was Rachel sitting with them.

Monica: "what are you doing here, aren't suppose to be working?"

Rachel: "right on it, I was just taking their orders"

Rachel didn't even waste another second there and immediately left not to offend Monica who has gone boss mode.

Monica just smiled before she also left for the kitchen.

Phoebe: "wow, that was intense, I pity the ones who are going to work for her, good thing Rachel is just hear to acquire experience"

Ross: "that's Monica, she just wants everything to be perfect but she might get better in time"

Phoebe: "I hope so, I can't imagine anyone settling down with her"

Joey: "don't say that, Monica might even get married before ....."

Before Joey could continuecontinued further, he was interrupted by a phone call.

Joey told his friends to quiet down after seeing who the caller was.

Joey: "hello, Joey speaking"

[Joey Tribianni, I am calling to tell you that, you have been offered the role of Dr. Drake Ramoray in the soap opera, Days of Our Lives, congratulations Joey, you impressed the casting directors and myself very much and we have no other person other than you to play that role]

Joey was happy when he heard that, he was going to appear in a soap opera show and it is a big one at that.

Joey: "it would be my greatest honor to be on your show, sir"

[Modest, I like that, why don't you meet up one of these days for a drink or two, I heard of a new restaurant that opened today in Manhattan, we could grab a bite there, what do you think?]

Joey: "that's great, we can meet on Thursday"

[Great, see you on Thursday then]

Joey disconnected the call after that and a smile appeared on his face as he looked at his friends.

Ross: "you got the role on days of our lives?"

Joey: "no"

Phoebe: "then why are you happy, you should have been sad, I don't get you"

Joey: "I didn't get the role I auditioned for but I get something better, I get to play Dr. Drake Ramoray, one of the main lead, isn't that great?"

Ross: "woah, Joey, I'm happy for you, you are finally realising your dreams"

Joey: "tell me about it, and that's not even the best part"

Phoebe: "tell us, what's the best part? Don't give us the suspense"

Joey: "I will be meeting with the director of the show here in Manhattan and in Monica's Kitchen to be exact"

Phoebe: "that's really cool, I hope you don't screw it up with the way, you are all riled up"

Joey didn't get to answer her when Chandler and Adam walked in the VIP room.

Joey: "guess what"

Phoebe: "you just got a role to play one of the main leads on this TV show called Days of Our Lives and he will also be meeting bwith the director here, isn't that amazing?"

Joey and the others just looked Phoebe who didn't even wait for the one with the good news to share it.

Joey: "Phoebe, I was the one who wanted to tell them"

Phoebe: "oh, sorry, I was just happy for you that he just kept pouring out of my mouth"

Joey let the matter go as they all listened to the story Chandler had for them.

They spent the rest of the day sitting in the restaurant as they waited for Rachel and Monica to close and meet up with them before resting for the night.

When the the clock hit's 7:00, Rachel immediately ran into the VIP room and just laid in one of the cushions and didn't even pay her friends any attention.

Adam: "I guess she is all beat up now"

Chandler: "yeah, I pity her for waitressing for Monica, she has a better chance at working at central perk where she won't be this tired"

Adam: "well I was the one who made her work here, but that's to help her gain job experience, if she was at Central Perk, she would have definitely slacked, so it's better if she worked here, Monica can make sure she doesn't laze around"

Ross: "yeah, that's true, well let's just hope she can get through this"

As they were talking about Rachel, Monica walked in with a bright smile on her face.

Chandler: "you seem awfully happy, I guess you made a huge sale today, huh?"

Monica: "you bet your ass I did. How many could say that their business was a huge success on the first day they started? None, but I did, I am now trending on the internet and I have gotten several interviews just on day one, and you think I will not be happy about it?"

Ross: "that calls for celebration, but Rachel's down, I think that would have to wait until tomorrow, what do you think?"

Phoebe: "and she will be down tomorrow and the next and the next and we will not be able to have the celebration"

Nobody refute that as what she said is true as everyday in this restaurant will be hectic and it is going to be even more hectic as people get to know more about it.

Adam: "well, we will just have to hire more workers and they can take shifts, that would reduce the stress and work load of the workers and also the effectiveness when attending to the customers"

Ross: "that is a brilliant idea, Monica, what do you think?"

Monica: "I don't know, having more people might be too difficult for me to handle.."

Chandler: "that's why you have Rachel and us, we can also boss them around when we are free"

Adam: "what Chandler meant was assist when we are free"

Monica: "thanks guys, especially you Adam, all this would not be possible if it weren't for you, I don't know how to thank you enough"

Adam: "well, you can thank me by giving the one who made you wanted to become a chef in the first place a chance. You know what I mean, you had this massive cru..."

Before Adam could complete his statement, Monica quickly covered his mouth while laughing and telling the others that it was nothing.

Adam smiled and just let the matter be and with that, they helped Rachel up and made their way home.
