Chapter 68: Son Goten, Next God of Destruction???!!!!

Chapter 68: Son Goten, Next God of Destruction???!!!!

After hearing Angel Whis's words, Goten displayed a look of mild surprise on his face. He knew that Angel had always been neutral and didn't expect him to pose such a question today!

Before he could respond, Beerus spoke up. "Whis, do you think I didn't hear you?" he grumbled. "I'm right here. Are you ready to begin the search for a new God of Destruction?"

Beerus cursed in anger. "I'm currently in my prime. I could work for hundreds of millions of years without any issues. I'll never agree to selecting a new God of Destruction!"

"Lord Beerus, am I not doing this for your own good? If something unfortunate accident happens to you one day, won't you end up without an heir." Whis replied with a distressed expression. He was clearly acting in Beerus's best interest, but Beerus couldn't see that.

"Enough! Shut your beak or you might have an 'accident'!" Beerus cursed again. This guy couldn't seem to evaluate himself properly.

It was difficult to improve Beerus's mood, but that remark had certainly soured it further. After scolding Whis, Beerus turned to Goten and said, "Brat, You're strong. Infact you're the most powerful mortal I've ever encountered. If I find the time and interest, I'll ask Whis to bring you to the our planet for a rematch. But, you need to train hard. If you stay at this level, I'll lose interest. At that point, I might even destroy Earth."

With that, Beerus and Whis disappeared from Earth in an instant. Beerus's words were clearly meant to put pressure on Goten. Pressure often served as motivation to become stronger. Goten was indeed an exceptional opponent, and there might not be another like him.

It seemed that Goten needed further training. Although Beerus had no plans to abdicate at the moment, it was still essential to consider a potential candidate for the position of God of Destruction. After all, in other universes, some Gods of Destruction were already searching for successors or had onw already. Beerus needed to think about this as well.

After Beerus had completely departed, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Earth's crisis had been averted, and Goten remained unharmed. It was evident that Beerus had grown to appreciate Goten.

Chichi was the first to approach Goten. She embraced him tightly, her actions speaking louder than words. Goten could feel her genuine concern.

"Mom, I'm okay. Don't worry," Goten reassured her, patting Chichi on the shoulder. He knew how worried she had been, and he appreciated her concern.

"You shouldn't take such risks in the future," Chichi admonished. "You scared me to death earlier. If I were to lose you, I wouldn't have the will to go on."

This heartfelt moment touched everyone present, including Goku, who felt a tinge of guilt. If he had been stronger, such a situation might not have occurred. But back then, he couldn't match Cell's power, just as he couldn't compete with Beerus today. Goten was the one who had to resolve these challenges.

In reality, it made Goku uncomfortable to rely on Goten, his son in this way, he was the one, who should be protecting him. Nevertheless, Goten had proven himself capable.

"Alright, Chichi, Goten is safe," Goku consoled. "Now that things are settled, why don't we continue with the birthday party? Today's a rare occasion, and we shouldn't let recent events cast a shadow over it."

Bulma chimed in, "We've come together for this reunion and celebration. Let's not allow recent events to dampen our spirits."

The birthday party resumed in full swing, and a few hours later, the sun began to set in the west. The fading sunlight bathed the Earth in a warm glow.

Goten's family returned to Fire Mountain, eager to bask in the warmth of their familial bond. They sat atop the mountain, admiring the beautiful sunset together.

"Chichi, Goten, I'm truly, deeply sorry," Goku began with a serious tone. "When you needed me the most, I wasn't there. I've carried this guilt with me."

Goku's words reflected his genuine remorse. When they had needed him most, he had been in the afterlife, unable to offer any assistance.

Goten remained silent, understanding Goku's feelings of guilt and helplessness.

"Goku, remember eight years ago when we could revived you?" Chichi asked earnestly. "You chose not to return. Did you realize how dire the situation on Earth was, how hopeless we felt? When Goten was born, we wanted to bring you back, but you refused. As Saiyans, do you understand the despair we endured?"

Chichi's words were heartfelt, conveying the desperation and hopelessness they had experienced at the time.

Goku replied, "Chichi, it wasn't that we didn't want to return. Our excuse about not disturbing the natural order was just that—an excuse. We knew that if we were resurrected right after our deaths, Cell would still be a threat. Reviving us could even provoke him to destroy Earth."

Goku continued, "Back then, we weren't strong enough to face Cell. and when Goten was born, we weren't strong enough to compete with Cell!. If we are revived then Cell will definitely come back to Earth again.....So once we return to Earth, it will be accompanied by a greater crisis. Reviving us would have only led to a greater crisis. Bulma was right; our presence would attract even more powerful enemies to Earth. That's why we hesitated to return."

He concluded, "These decisions weighed heavily on us. We Saiyans do have emotions, but we don't always express them openly."

In fact, they were not unwilling to be resurrected in the first place! After all, Gohan was only ten years old at the time, arguably the best age to make friends and go on an advantage like he did. And Trunks was only one year old at the time.

No father wants his child to die at this age! But even if they were resurrected at that time, they would be killed by Cell. It will even bring greater disasters to the earth. When they made up their minds like that, they actually felt very painful in their hearts.

It's not that Saiyan has no emotion, it's just that the expression of emotion is not so obvious!

Gohan, understanding Goku's reasoning, wasn't surprised by this revelation. However, Chichi and Goten wore expressions of surprise, especially Goten.

In the past, he had resented Goku and the others for not saving their loved ones. Now, hearing Goku's explanation, he realized that they had made those choices out of necessity.

"It all makes sense now," Chichi said, her realization clear. She admitted her misjudgment of Goku.

"Indeed," Goku agreed. "We did what we thought was best."

With these explanations, misunderstandings were cleared, and the family's bond grew even stronger.

"But now that Goten is so powerful, he is fully capable of protecting the Earth," Goku said with a relieved smile. "I believe he'll continue to grow stronger, and he can safeguard everyone. That way, we can rest easy."

Goten had indeed become incredibly strong, and he could handle crises that previously seemed insurmountable. Goku recognized this, and he no longer needed to carry the burden of protecting the Earth alone.

"Forgive me...Fa--*Ahem*," Goten began, a hint of embarrassment in his voice. "I used to harbor some resentment towards you in my heart."

Looking at Goku, Goten confessed his past feelings, but it was evident that all misunderstandings had been resolved.

However, the word "father" still couldn't escape his lips.

"By the way, even when you go back to King Kai's, make sure to train diligently," Goten advised to both Goku and Goten. "Don't assume Earth doesn't need your protection just because of my strength. If a crisis arises that even I can't handle one day, you'll still need to return."

Gohan smiled and Goku responded, "Of course."

In this dangerous world, nothing was guaranteed. Even with their incredible strength, there was always a possibility of encountering a more powerful opponent in the future.

"Ah! Absolutely," Goku agreed with a smile. They exchanged smiles, and it seemed that all barriers between them had been erased. Goten and Gohan fly away giving some private space for their parents. Goten showed Gohan around. Both went to sight seeing.

Time flew by, and a day passed quickly. For Chichi and Bulma, it was always difficult to part ways after such brief reunions.

At ten o'clock the following morning, Goku and the others had to return to the Other World, as their one-day pass had expired. Fortuneteller Baba appeared, reminding them of the impending departure.

"Goten, take care of your mother," Goku told him before bidding Chichi farewell.

"Goodbye, Chichi," Goku added with a smile.

With that, they all vanished in an instant. Parting after a short reunion was always bittersweet, especially for Chichi and Bulma, who had to say goodbye after just one day together.

However, there was nothing they could do to change the situation. So, they decided to return home.

"Alright, let's head back," Bulma suggested. "Today, I'll treat everyone to a big meal."

Everyone agreed, and Bulma took them to a top-notch restaurant to enjoy their meal.

Later, Goten and Krillin returned to Fire Mountain.

"Goten, please start training me," Krillin said earnestly. "I'm ready for any level of intensity. After those battles, I've realized how inadequate my strength is. With my current level, I can't be of much help against the opponents we face. I could be defeated in an instant. I asked Bulma for assistance, but she said she couldn't enhance my strength further with her current technology. I can't afford to wait any longer. Earth's crises can arise unexpectedly, so I need to become stronger."

Krillin's determination to improve himself impressed Goten. He replied, "Very well, then. I'll teach you the technique I used against Beerus at last, Ultra Instinct. However, mastering Ultra Instinct isn't easy. It requires absolute mental balance, which is the foremost requirement for any learner. Without a calm mind, achieving Ultra Instinct is nearly impossible."

Krillin nodded enthusiastically. He was willing to endure any hardship to become stronger, and he'd already faced immense pain during his transformations.

"Good!" Goten affirmed. "Let's begin right away."

Goten proceeded to provide Krillin with detailed information about Ultra Instinct, including the theory behind it and the physical and mental aspects involved. He also demonstrated the form multiple times, explaining the changes in the body and mindset when using Ultra Instinct, as well as perception and experience. 'Even of he wasn't able to learn Ultra Instinct he would till be able to do something similar to what master roshi did or may be better with his cyborg transformation.' Though Goten.

Having shared all this knowledge with Krillin, Goten then embarked on his own training. While inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he had once considered achieving the perfect Ultra Instinct through self-training. However, he soon realized that it wasn't realistic, so he abandoned the idea.

Perfecting Ultra Instinct required a unique opportunity and couldn't be achieved through blind training. Now, Goten focused his training on the techniques acquired from the Gods of Destruction. These skills extended beyond destructive powers and included the destroyer form of the Gods of Destruction.

Goten aimed to comprehend a destroyer form of these techniques, one that was akin to Vegeta's Self-indulgent (Ultra Ego) form as depicted in the second season of the Dragon Ball Super manga. However, he knew that mastering just the form wasn't enough.

Goten had his own plans, intending to fuse the Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego and create the New Angel Level techniques. His goal was to achieve a level of strength that could potentially even rival the Angels. Of course, he never planned to abandon his Saiyan transformations; they were an essential part of his identity.

In the Future, Ultra Instinct, and Ultra Ego, will just be some of the cards in his deck.
