"Krillin, do you have any idea what's happening?" Goku asked.
"Since when did Goten possess such rapid regeneration abilities?" he added, blinking in surprise.
It's worth noting that Saiyans typically lack such recovery abilities. In fact, it was nearly impossible for Goten to heal himself so quickly after sustaining such a severe injury moments ago. But somehow, Goten had fully recuperated in an instant, feeling just as he had before.
This was undeniably remarkable. Goten was undoubtedly of Saiyan lineage, so why did he display such an extraordinary power? Furthermore, they had closely observed Goten during their time in the Underworld and had never noticed this unique ability.
"I...I'm not sure either," Krillin replied, shaking his head with a puzzled expression. He turned to Goku and continued, "Goten has never exhibited this ability before, but he seems to be able to assist in healing others."
Krillin recalled a prior encounter with Janemba where he had almost been defeated. Goten had miraculously recovered from his injuries in just a second, a development that left him perplexed. After all, Saiyans were not known for their healing abilities, and Goten had never demonstrated this power before.
"Kakarot, that brat Goten is truly something else," Vegeta interjected, joining the conversation. "He's completely different from us Saiyans. The abilities he possesses are unlike anything we've seen—be it the green-haired transformation or this rapid recovery."
Of course, Vegeta's limited knowledge played a role in his perception of the situation. Nevertheless, he firmly believed that Saiyans couldn't possibly master such abilities.
"Whoa!" Whis exclaimed.
"This kid keeps surprising us. First, he mastered a power akin to spatial manipulation, and now he displays this incredible healing ability. If he's trained properly, he might be a prime candidate for the next God of Destruction."
Whis, too, expressed his astonishment and inner thoughts. In the entire Seventh Universe, there were very few mortals with such remarkable abilities. The Frieza family, hundreds of years ago, had shown exceptional talent that exceeded most other races in the Universe. Lord Beerus had even considered making Frieza the next God of Destruction until Goku's actions led to Frieza's downfall.
Setting Frieza aside, both Goku and Vegeta now possessed power surpassing Frieza's. Goten, who stood before them, appeared to outclass Frieza in strength as well. In just a few years, Goten had managed to reach this level of power. If he were to become the Seventh Universe's God of Destruction in the future, he might inherit Lord Beerus's mantle as the most formidable deity.
At this moment, Lord Beerus fixed his gaze on Goten. The fierce attack earlier hadn't killed him, and now Goten had effortlessly healed himself. This development both surprised and intrigued Beerus. If defeating this opponent turned out to be straightforward, it would make the situation much simpler.
Beerus, however, chose not to reveal his excitement. Instead, he addressed Goten with a mocking tone, saying, "Little Brat, you seem to have quite a bag of tricks up your sleeve. But I wonder if you can heal all the damage."
With those words, Beerus charged at Goten once more. This time, he unleashed even greater force.
The moment Beerus disappeared and reappeared in front of Goten, he swiftly struck Goten's abdomen with a powerful uppercut. Goten coughed up a mouthful of blood and was sent flying through the air.
Beerus vanished once more, and Goten struggled to regain his composure. When he turned, he found Beerus, his feline face bearing a wicked grin. Beerus had already clasped his hands together, ready for what was to come.
As Goten steadied himself, he clenched his fists tightly. The moment he regained his balance, he delivered a powerful punch.
Boom!
The sound reverberated through the air, causing the luxury cruise ship to tremble. The sea's surface churned with massive waves. Without Whis's energy protection, this strike could have pierced through the Earth.
Beerus abandoned the use of energy attacks and instead engaged in a physical assault. His fists were like machine guns, relentlessly pummeling Goten's face and body, leaving clear marks on his freshly healed skin.
Despite the excruciating pain, Goten understood that this agony was slowly becoming a part of his history. He had experienced pain before, even with his super regeneration abilities. A living being with flesh and blood should be capable of feeling pain; otherwise, they wouldn't truly be mortal.
Watching Goten's distorted form, Beerus raised his fist high, flames of purple energy engulfing his head.
Boom!
With a powerful punch, Goten's body split apart like a watermelon. This shocking sight left everyone aghast. Chichi, Bulma, and Videl couldn't contain their screams.
Beerus had been merciless, completely obliterating Goten.
"AH! Damn..It." Goku seethed with anger at the sight of his son being pummeled by Beerus. His rage drove him to transform into Super Saiyan 3, and Gohan followed suit, instantly attaining Super Saiyan form. Piccolo, Krillin, and Majin Buu also maximized their auras and charged at the God of Destruction.
"Tsuk!! You bunch of insects," Beerus snorted dismissively. He didn't regard these 'powerful' mortals as a significant threat. While each of them possessed remarkable strength among mortals, they were insignificant compared to a God of Destruction like himself. Furthermore, compared to the recent display of power by Goten, these individuals held no interest for him.
With an indifferent tone, Beerus tapped his toes lightly on the ground. A purple halo instantly radiated outward, enveloping the area.
Goku and the others had rushed forward when they saw the surge of purple energy, but their efforts were futile. They were thrown to the ground upon their arrival, Piccolo and Gohan even spewing blood and losing all combat capability. Gods of Destruction Beerus had proven too overwhelming for even the peak power of Super Saiyan 3.
"Damn! His strength is beyond anything we could have imagined. We can't even put up a fight," Goku said with utmost seriousness. Merely stomping his foot had rendered them powerless. If Beerus had wanted to kill them, it might have taken just an instant. Faced with such a gaping power disparity, revenge seemed impossible, and Earth itself was at risk of destruction.
After Beerus effortlessly defeated Goku and the others, his attention turned to the spot where Goten had exploded moments ago. He realized that nothing had happened to the kid because his aura remained undiminished. Goten's recovery ability exceeded Beerus's expectations; being punched by Beerus hadn't weakened him at all.
While everyone was bewildered, Goten, who had been blown up just moments ago, began to regenerate slowly. In a matter of moments, he had fully restored himself to his original form, a sight that astonished those present. Recovering from being punched to smithereens was unprecedented.
"What in the world is happening? Goten is not dead; he's come back to life! Is this really Goten? It's unbelievable!" Videl muttered in disbelief. She had known Goten was strong, but this level of strength, where his body could reconstitute from being obliterated, was mind-boggling.
Chichi was ecstatic, exclaiming, "Goten is safe! Thank goodness, my Goten is alive!" Everyone shared her relief and excitement, as the tension that had gripped them moments earlier had finally subsided.
"That Goten sure knows how to give us a scare," Krillin remarked, sighing with relief. His concern for Goten's well-being had been his primary focus, as he understood that if Goten were killed, he might be the only defender left on Earth, and he wasn't sure if his strength could handle future crises.
Goten, however, seemed oblivious to the reactions around him. He appeared lost in his own world, disconnected from the outside noise. An new and improved immense power via Saiyan power was building within him, surging relentlessly. His body felt like a coiled spring, ready to unleash its boundless energy.
This was the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan. Goten muttered, "I can't control it anymore; my strength is about to overflow." His expression seemed distant, as if he had forgotten the formidable Gods of Destruction Beerus standing before him.
"Oh! There's an incredibly powerful force surging within that kid's body, and it's still expanding rapidly. What's happening? What kind of secret is hidden within him?" Whis was now even more astonished. He hadn't expected Goten's strength to not only remain intact after a beating from Lord Beerus but also to increase significantly. He sensed that Goten was struggling to contain this force, which was far beyond the capabilities of a typical Saiyan, let alone a hybrid Saiyan.
"It's intriguing. Is the power still increasing?" Beerus asked, his excitement growing as Goten's strength continued to surge. The stronger Goten became in his presence, the more he relished the prospect of a thrilling battle—a dream he had harbored for millions of years.
"It's... going to explodeeEEE AHHHHH--!" Goten roared like a beast, and he unleashed the potent force within him. The shockwave generated around him was immense. A brilliant green energy beam with a diameter of tens of meters shot into the sky, turning the entire sky green as dark clouds circled it.
Crackling lightning streaked through the dark clouds, intensifying with each passing moment. The entire Earth felt as though it were on the brink of cataclysm.
Goten's emerald hair stood on end, and golden arcs crackled around his body. The airwaves continued to ripple outward. Goku and the others shielded themselves, raising their hands to block the impact.
Goten's rapidly expanding energy left them astonished. They had already been amazed by Goten's previous display of power, but the word "amazing" no longer sufficed to describe the shock they now experienced.
"Could it be... Is this Goten's Super Saiyan 2 transformation?" Gohan speculated as he observed the vibrant green hair and the golden lightning enveloping Goten's form. Although there were qualitative differences in the hair color and the lightning compared to his own Super Saiyan 2 transformation, the similarities were undeniable.
"It does look quite similar. Goten's must have undergone some kind of mutation," Piccolo added. "In any case, Goten's strength has increased, and Earth is safer."
The current Goten appeared capable of contending with Beerus!
