Chapter 37

In another location during the evilus raid on the 18th floor. The mysterious lady sitting on her throne of bones called for her attendants. Soon some people walked into the throne room.

"??? Sama" they said in unison and bowed.

"Any news from Kajit" the lady said.

"No, but he should have arrived in Orario 3 days ago" said one of the Attendant. The lady had a pondering expression before saying something.

"Tsk, hope that hot headed fool doesn't kill the target. He could ruin my only chance to return" the lady said in anger.

"Don't worry my lady. We sent him to Erebus, so it should be fine" said an attendant to calm her down.

"Hope you are right" the lady said and dismissed them.

Meanwhile in the babel tower, a goddess could be seen in a state of arousal as she watched the battle on the 18th floor.

"Freya sama, why do you only watch him and not claim him for yourself" Ottar asked. It was strange that his goddess didn't just order them to get what she wanted.

"Everything surrounding him is not as it seems. A very scary bitch is protecting him for now so I can't act now and the other gods can't too. It's different if he comes to me by himself and much more fun that way, don't you think so too?" Freya asked to which Ottar nodded.

"Then what about finding another dragon kin. If one of them is here then there should be others" Ottar asked.

"Fufufu, I guess you wouldn't know. Those things that call themselves dragon kins are fakes that appeared sometime after the real ones went extinct. I was shocked to find out that a real one still exists" Freya said.

Freya didn't elaborate more so Ottar didn't ask further. She then continued watching until a cloaked figure arrived at the battle on the 18th floor.

Freya's demeanour completely change after seeing the cloaked figure.

"Tsk, so her minions have already made it to Orario" said Freya before giving Ottar a task to fulfil. Ottar didn't inquire any further and left to fulfill his orders.

The next day after the whole dungeon fiasco. I moved through the streets of Orario with the Astraea familia on patrol.

I instructed my familia members back at the Dragons den to do a bit of inventory check and guard the manor. Well to be safe I still left my goddess at Star dust garden with Astraea.

While on patrol, we noticed that hardly any vendors set up on the streets, and those that were there carried weapons with them, looking ready to defend themselves or run at moments notice.

"The events of yesterday seem to have spread" I said.

"Yea, the air is so tense that it's hard to endure" Lyra replied.

We continued some light banter to distract ourselves from the gloom that surrounded us until we heard a cry for help. Everyone still on the streets tensed and seems ready to make a run for it.

We quickly ran toward the direction of the sound which came from an alley. There were several men surrounding a kid, no pallum girl and an old male pallum.

"Pay up or we kill the girl" one of the men said. The old man pleaded for more time but before we could react a sword pierced the female pallum in the chest.

Alise was enraged and rushed towards them slicing and dismembering their body parts. She didn't ask questions. The old man lay on the ground crying.

I then walked up to him and asked a few questions to know what was going on. Apparently his business closed because of evilus attacks.

He had to borrow money to survive and couldn't pay up so these men came to hound him and his daughter. I wasn't sure if what Alise did was right by killing all of them, some might have been innocent but the damage was already done.

I decided to help the man up but something dropped from his pockets. To my surprise it was Valis and not a small amount but an invoice for 100k Valis.

Then the question came, if the man had this much Valis why didn't he pay and let his so called daughter nearly die. The story wasn't adding up. I picked it up and showed it to Ryuu, who was closest to me. Things were getting complicated as a small crowd had gathered at the scene.

The pallum girl regained consciousness after being fed some potions and explained to us the situation. Apparently she was his daughter in law, though her husband had died to an evilus attach, protecting her, she still took care of the old man.

It seemed that the old man was planning to kill her because he thinks that it was her fault for his sons death. The Valis was payment for the job.

Well that explained why they stabbed her instead of selling her in the black market. This was something you would see in a soap opera but here I was witnessing it.

Funny how we all thought that it was an evilus attack instead of a cliche drama. We then dropped the man at the Ganesha familia home for them to deal with him.

Once we were prepared to leave one of the guards at the Ganesha familia home stopped us. Apparently Shakti wanted to see us. So we were invited in.

"Tomorrow we are planning to raid a confirmed evilus base, and I would like your assistance in doing so" she said.

"The Astraea familia will assist, so will Draco too" Alise said in reply.

"Thank you, there might be other bases found today so the Astraea familia might also be needed there. We will discuss tomorrow on how to divide ourselves for the raid" Shakti said.

After speaking, Shakti got up and left while Ardee came into the room.

"Hey Ardee been a while" I said.

"Oh hey Draco" she replied.

"Guess you heard about the raid from onee san"

"Yea" I replied.

We then proceeded to talk for a while along with Kaguya, Ryuu and Alise before we left to go back on patrol.

'Finally the time have come to save Ardee' I thought as we exited the Ganesha home.

We patrolled the streets for a few more hours before returning to the Star dust garden. I picked up Bahamut and returned to our manor.

Once home, I proceeded to inform everyone on the latest development after which I went to fill in some paper work and take inventory of what we had available. Because I had sent my familia members earlier today to buy a lot of things.

The next day, I stood outside my familia manor as the sun started rising. Today was the day that we raid the evilus base. I was somewhat scared that the fake dragon kin would show up again. The world wasn't one that I knew from the series but one that I live in now.

Some events had remained the same while some had changed making knowledge of the future feel a bit sketchy to me. The events that led to Ardee's death might not be the same as what I knew and that scared me.

Taking deep breath's to calm my nerves, I put on my Light Armour and side potion bag. It was time for me to go to the Star dust garden with Bahamut.

It's not that I couldn't trust my familia but they were not strong enough to fend off strong evilus. I doubted that they would raid a home without its goddess and prayed that they wouldn't. Nothing could be guaranteed.

Bahamut soon came out and I bid my familia members farewell before leaving. The meeting place was the Ganesha home so the Astraea familia could have left already.

Soon I reached their home and dropped Bahamut off. Most of the Astraea familia members had already left so I made my way to the Ganesha familia while trying to hype myself that the raid would be successful.
