I woke up early in the morning, probably because I was excited about my first dungeon dive.
'Hopefully my advisor would let me enter the dungeon today' I thought.
I tried to get up from bed but was stopped because Bahamut was lying on my chest once again.
Honestly it was taking a lot of self restraint not to jump her. My mating instincts were much higher than what a human would understand and yet here I am with a girl on me, a dragon goddess and legal loli to the boot.
It was a miracle that I hadn't subconsciously done anything. So I gently unfurled her tail that was around me and put her to bed gently. I made my way to the bathroom to clean up, After which I meditated before going to make breakfast.
Seeing Bahamut wasn't getting up soon, I covered her breakfast and left a note on where I was going.
Putting on my amour, cloak, new dungeon bag and equipping my weapon. I felt ready to conquer the world. I then exited the house, but not forgetting to lock the door and look around the house, so I could trick myself to believe that my goddess would be safe after I left for the dungeon.
'Just one year, endure for one year Draco and your homies will arrive in Orario. I prayed for no evilus attacks this fine day' though Draco as he carefully navigated his way to the guild using the busy streets as cover.
Arriving at the guild, I found it to be bustling with activity, so I asked around for Rose Fannett's location. Not without greeting Shizu of course.
After a few minutes I found her.
"Good morning. I am Draco and you must be Rose fannett, my dungeon advisor" I greeted her politely.
Rose fannett was a wolf demi human that seemed cold to adventurers because they died and left her alone. Even after giving them advice, making her believe it was a curse. Well at least that's the Rose I knew from the series.
The one before me was her but younger and not the cold version I knew.
"Ah nice to meet you too, just call me Rose" she said in a bubbly voice. Perhaps she was still in the period of her life where her optimistic nature hadn't been corrupted.
We talked for a while on what to and not to do in the dungeon. The species of monsters I would encounter, terrain of the first 6 floors and what equipment and items to buy and use as an adventurer.
After our talk, I was allowed to enter the first 3 floors until she gave me permission to dive deeper. I was fine with the arrangement, because I needed to find hidden farming spots which would help me grind, evade Evilus and hide my identity at the same time. Not from gods, because some of them could find out even with me hiding, but from adventurers, just until i gained a decent amount of power.
After leaving the guild, I went to buy some stamina, mind and health potions before arriving at the spiral stairs that led to the dungeon first floor.
Entering the first floor I immediately noticed the change in terrain. The walls were covered in things I could identify as moss but were blue in colour.
The first floor only had goblins and kobolds, although I had tried to memorize the maps, it was still hard to navigate especially when you are trying not to run into other adventures.
I spent my first hour dodging adventurers and trying out the effectiveness of my spells, because I had a feeling that the dungeon wouldn't make it easy to manipulate its terrain.
The result was that my spells worked fine but the earth based ones consumed a bit more mind to cast as the dungeon didn't take kindly to earth manipulation spells.
It was a bit annoying but I could still work with this. A few minutes later, I ran into a group of goblins. I summoned my grimoire and drew the wind rune before transforming my hands to claws.
*Kiii*
Their creepy sounds could be heard as they charged toward me. I quickly cast haste on my body and dashed towards the fastest one.
*Poof*
It turned to dust as I clawed its throat out. I then used my tail to slam the closest goblin to the ground as it had leaped at me. The goblins movement were pretty similar to their surface counterparts, just with tougher muscles and thicker skin.
It was hard to make quick work of them as I had a big backpack on me and they were equipped with stone weapons, unlike the ones I fought in the arena back home. After killing the small group, I decided to only hunt solo monsters while using 'wind tracking' to find them.
This method would put me at less risk as It was hard to fight while carrying my supplies at the same time. ' I really need to level up so that I can use space magic for storage' I thought while picking the magic stones. I couldn't just drop my bag and anywhere.
I planned to hunt from morning till evening while using potions to cover for stamina and mind loss. Food was in my backpack so I could eat inside the dungeon.
The monsters here were certainly stronger than those on the surface, but I had experience dealing with them so it wasn't hard and I had falna. I spent hours hunting any solo monster that came in my detection range. By using 'wind tracking' I could tell the difference between monsters and adventurers. So I used it to evade adventurers and hunt monsters.
I stuck to the wind rune as it gave me the most mobility and helped with tracking. Compared to the earth alternative, wind was less consuming.
On my 4th hour on the first floor I felt there was no more challenge, so I decided to descend to the second and third floors before returning home.
I continued grinding while refilling my lost mind and stamina with potions. I didn't use the health ones as it seemed, I had a good healing factor despite it not being on my skill list. Light injuries always heal fast with no scarring, so I just needed to be carful.
*2hours later*
I felt hungry, so I brought out some sandwiches from my large backpack filled with magic stones and supplies. After eating, I got back to grinding.
After 2 more hours on the 3rd floor I found a good grinding spot. Though it was open I used a lot of mind casting 'Earth mold' spell after switching the wind rune for earth. I basically made a kill pit, where I only needed to lure enemies and and kill them easily without much risk.
Though I expended a decent amount of potions, I felt it was worth it. I then spent the last hour hunting till it was time to go sell my trophies and go home.
Making my way back up I ran into several adventurers but things didn't escalate the way that I imagined. So I carefully made my way out of the dungeon to the direction of the guild.
Upon entering the guild I went to my advisor, Rose to give her a rundown on my experience.
"Hi Rose been a busy day" I said as she looked tired.
" Sigh, yes it's been real busy. So you're here in one piece which shows you listened and are well trained". It sounded a bit offensive, the way she put it at least but it was something minor.
I then spent a few minutes explaining what I did in the dungeon today while omitting my abilities of course.
She seemed shock when I presented the magic stones I had from my backpack. The total of my hunt after spending 11 hours hunting was 62,150 Valis.
The goblin stones cost 310 Valis each and I had 100 while the Kobold stones cost 350 each which I had 89 of. The money was a large amount, especially for a starting adventurer. I was sure my stats increased decently. I also believed that my magic stat would always be my highest stat with me using it so much.
I never planned to level up until all my stats reached the S rank or maybe SS if I was lucky. And this was the plan till I reach the pinnacle. Me and Rose talked a lot on plans going forward. She came to the conclusion that my abilities were a bit high for just the first 3 floors but I would be allowed to go up till the 6th floor after a week in the first 3 floors.
After our talk, I went home feeling very exhausted as no matter how many potions I took, it would never beat natural recovery.
Before I reached home I made sure to buy some street food and didn't drop my guard.
" I am home" I said as I walked in the house.
"Welcome home Draco, how was the dungeon" Bahamut said as she welcomed me warmly. We talked for a bit while eating dinner consisting of meat skewers and veggies with baked potatoes. Well not bad considering how tired I was from fighting all day. ' If only Bahamut could cook, things would be so much easier" I couldn't help but think as I dragged my tired body to sleep.
Meanwhile, Bahamut was a bit distressed as she saw how tired Draco was. She had nothing to do at home and was bored through the day. She couldn't go out alone as there were evilus running about, but she could handle the lower levelled ones as she was a dragon goddess, even without unleashing her divinity.
'Maybe I should take cooking lesson' Bahamut thought as she went to bed while climbing Draco, wrapping her tail around his and she drifted off to sleep.
