140 No Regrets

"ELVES!!" Rebecca and the others screamed upon hearing the news of what was going on.

"Mmm." Grim nodded taking a huge bite out of a freshly made chicken leg.

After fighting Mereoleona at the black bulls HQ then going all the way to the Eye of the midnight sun's base just to end up fighting a bunch of randoms before swapping blows with Rhya who powered up with elf Rill, Grim had realized just how hungry he was. That's not even mentioning the Licht stuff and torture from the elves when he got captured.

It honestly left him famished as hell. The fight with Lufulu also didn't help as he probably burnt off way more calories than he needed.

As for why he came here instead of going to the base to eat Charmy's food, whether he wanted to admit it or not, he felt some attachment to this town and prefered if the elves didn't mess it up.

That being said, if the town was destroyed before he got here, he'd at most feel bad for it but it wouldn't affect him on a deep level... Though he would miss those free hair cuts.

Oh, and as for the elves that were just terrorising the town, since Grim didn't have the ability to remove them from the magic knights like Asta did, he simply removed their heads from their bodies since it basically got the same result... Just with more blood.

---

"So what are you gonna do now?" Rebecca's little brother Marco asked while taking away Grim's empty plate.

"Hmm?" Thinking about it now, Grim didn't actually know what he wanted to do.

Save the kingdom?

He didn't really have any deep attachments to it.

Defeat the elves?

Since he awakened his elven side, his power had reached a level where there wasn't much distinction between humans and elves in his eyes. Besides a few elves and humans who caught his eye, everyone else was pretty much expendable... But killing openly was fun.

"What's up with your hair?" With the dishes now washed, Rebecca came and sat down opposite him.

"Cool right." He grinned seeing the look on her face. "Honestly made me a little hard the first time I saw my reflection.

"What!?"

Watching her face turn red from his comment, he couldn't help but chuckle.

"Don't look at me like that. We were all thinking it."

*Sigh*

"Nice to see that the only thing about you that's changed is your hair color."

"Weren't you the one telling me not to change?"

"Mmm." She nodded and touched his hair.

"How long are you gonna keep it like this anyway?"

"Who knows." He shrugged as she sat back down.

"Grim... Are...Are we gonna be okay."

"What do you me-

"Grim." She looked at him seriously. "Are we gonna be okay?"

"...I don't know." He finally said.

Taking a minute to digest his words, Rebecca closed her eyes and after a deep breath she opened them back up.

"Save us."

"Excuse me?"

Steeling her resolve, the red haired girl gathered her courage and spoke up the words in her heart.

"I know that you don't care about us... But Grim... We need you... I-I need you." Standing up from her seat, she walked over to his side, and to his surprise she pulled him into a hug.

"Huh?"

"I know we haven't always seen eye, but this town... the people here... They care for you Grim. You might not know this but you've left your mark on this place. And not just this town, you've left your mark all over the Clover kingdom. You gave us commoners a voice, you made us feel like we were finally heard, like we were worth something. And I-I'm so proud of you."

"Rebecca-

"I know I've been hard on you over the years, and that its really selfish of me to say this considering the circumstances. But if this could be our last moments together I don't want to be left with any regrets. Grim... I love you."

"...Neat."

"Eh." She said not expecting that answer.

"You're the 70th person to say that to me." He said looking up at the red haired woman who was hugging him. "1st if you consider not passing out afterwards."

"What? I don't und-

"Now that I think about it-" He cut her off. "You're also the first one whose close to my age to say it as well... That being said, all the others had kids... but you're also taking care of kids like a mom so... I guess I attract a certain type." He nodded to himself as if understanding something intricate.

"I still don't under-

"Unfortunately we don't have anymore time." Grabbing a napkin off the table, he used some of the chicken greese on his fingers to write something and gave it to Rebecca.

*Yawn*

"I should get going, people to fight and elves to kill y'know." He said getting up from the table and heading to the door.

"Oh." He suddenly stopped and looked back.

"And one last thing before I go, that chicken... was dry... real dry..."

*Slam*

[A/n: Props to anyone who knows where that's from.]

After saying his peace, he left just as quickly as he arrived leaving a stunned Rebecca to read the words on the napkin that read as-

"We'll bang okay :)"

[A/n: +2 props to anyone else who knows where this is from.]

---

"Hmm." Grim hummed floating in the air.

'Where should I go first? Meeting up with the other black bulls is definitely a no go. Knowing Asta he'll probably try to stop me from killing the elves. I could stay here and protect the town... But that sound boring as fuck, so that ideas gone... Ah! How could I forget! RHYA!!'

Remembering the last time he saw the distraught elf, an evil smile hung on his lips.

'Wouldn't killing a bunch more elves in front him be fun! And not to mention that Licht guy is probably gonna be close by as well! Heh, with the power I've gained from fighting Luck, my chances of beating him has definitely increased!'

*Clenches fists*

'God dammit, just the thought of mentally scarring him has me shaking with excitement!'
