CHAPTER 79 - A FATHER’S STRUGGLE

Ex-Commander Donald found himself thrust back into civilian life without a moment's reprieve. The military camp, where he had once held sway as a respected commander, had ejected him unceremoniously, stripping him of his privileges and status. By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, he had returned to his humble abode.

In the quiet lit corridors of his abode, the ex-Commander Donald sat, looking out the window appreciating the sound of children playing, the sound by the innocent voices of his many adopted children. In total he had adopted at least forty children, some had matured and moved on while others like these young ones were still here. 

Donald had promised many of his comrades that regardless of what happened on the battlefield he would ensure their kids were fed, clothed and protected.
