14 You Can See Me?

For a brief moment, he just stood there in front of the guild, not utter a single word, he was baffled by the fact that his father had slipped the thought about him from his mind. They came to the guild to take a delivery quest but after Andrew had tugged one of the delivery quests at the Quest Board, he reached to the counter to sign up the quest and hastened to deliver it, like how his usual routine.

He forgot that he took Ezra along with him. It all happened because he was shocked to find a delivery quest that gives a substantial amount of coin for just delivering the items.

[Quest F]

Deliver the parcel to the Swiftlight Family in the north region of Rura City. Make sure that the parcel was delivered safely without any damage. There will be a butler waiting at the front gate. Give the parcel to him and claim the reward from him.

[Reward]

The Swiftlight Family is a noble family in the northern territory of Rura City. They are also the richest family in the north faction. They are famous for birthing some of the most powerful mages and swordsman in the Rura Kingdom. Their family are blessed with Light-Attribute, one of the divine elements.

Andrew was blinded by the reward, he quickly registered the quest at the counter and dashed exited the guild. How could some people miss this quest? To him, this was ineffably glorious. Since his thought was filled with fortune, he had forgotten about his son.

Ezra reconsider what should he do, for the time being, knowing Andrew's personality, he might notice it when he finished delivered the parcel, or it also possible he will notice it when he already went back home and realised that I was not there.

If I want to wait for him, I'm going to waste a lot of time doing nothing.

Hmm…

He couldn't help but ogle at the different sights that came into view. Should I go for a walk around the plaza for a while? But what if Andrew comes back and knowing that I was not here?

After pondering about that, It also possible he came looking for me already. Well, it will be fine, I'm going to take a walk around here only, I wouldn't wander off too far. I hope so.

On the bright side, I think everything will be just fine, even I'm still a 3-year-old, I'm still competent in fighting if I was about to be abducted. I looked around, mostly everyone here has their own kind of weapon fastened at their back or around their hips.

Some of the weapons they had were fine and reputedly magical, and some were rusted and jagged. They also had their own brazen and resounding armour. He was exchanging pleasantries with some people passing by or working in the booths.

As he continued to walk along with the pavers before anyone had noticed, clouds had gathered but not fully covering the sun thus there was some sunshine escaped through the clouds.

Rain begins falling, one drop at a time.

Is it about to Rain? I wish I could wander off more around the plaza but I should return to the Adventure Guild now, if it rains it will be problematic for Andrew to find me.

After positioning himself to return to the path that he had walked, the rain begins to pour. Thick raindrops strike down on everyone alike. His black cloak has gotten wet.

Ezra quickly ran to the closest stall for shelter. It was a high-backed wooden booth with black curtains on the top. The owner was a squat and dumpy woman with a long hat. After he took shelter under the stall, the old lady smiled at him. He returned her with a smile too.

Indicated that he was asking for permission to take shelter under her stall, the old lady understood Ezra intention and let him stay there. She then continues to rearrange some of her flower pots that were uncovered to rains.

The rains seem like they're not going to cease but it, not heavy or stormy rain rather it was warm rains, so much rain was falling that the sound obscured into one long, whirring noise. Currently, in front of him was the centre of the plaza, an octagonal tiled fountain was in the middle of the centre.

The white rains scrape his visions for a few feet but somehow, he noticed a girl was sitting on the conic tiled of the fountain, only her silver cloak was the only thing that preserved her from the fervour showers.

Ezra's face was markedly paradoxical. Why did she just sit there?

Some people walked past by the fountain but none of them seems to mind the girl who just sitting there under the rains. Perhaps she was flustered to ask for shelter from the hookers here? Ezra gazed at the sky, the rains seems like it will cease afterwards but before its halt, she would get cold if she kept sitting there.

He made his choice to walked towards that girl, His skin and clothes begin to bathe. Then, when he was exactly in front of the girl, the girl was staring blankly at the floor. "What are you doing here under these rains?" After the girl heard that she held up her head, both of them made eyes contacted.

She has glamorous long radiant platinum hair with enchanted purple eyes, smooth glowing alabaster skin, thick lashes, and small lips. She has a delicate, small stature that would make one want to protect.

"What are doing here? you're going to get cold"

"Yo-…You can see me?"

You can see me? Huh? Yeah, I can clearly see you what is this girl talking about.

"Yeah, I can see your radiant platinum hair and your purple eyes certainly. What can of question is that?"

Unexpectedly, after Ezra had described her features, she stood up and bestow a cute and courteous smile. The sudden warm rainstorm conjures a sweet pattern upon her skin. Hmm… was I not supposed to see her?

"Hah.., I'm glad that it finally turns off." Ezra was still confused with the girl sudden mood swing. He speculated that she was unhappy but after he came to her she abruptly evolved gleefully. Was it because people didn't care about her? Is she an attention-seeker? Was I a victim of her play?

"Oh, either way, thank you for your concern, I have to go now." After thanking Ezra, the girl seems like she was in hurry but when she was about to stride, a man suddenly bumped to her, the girl had fallen on her back.

"Boy, watch where you're goi-…huh?" The man was about to roar at the girl but he suddenly stops midway and was searching for someone to scold, but he didn't glance at the girl, then his eyes were fixed on me, but I was 6 feet away from him, why would he want to be mad at me. "Huh…I thought that I had bumped onto something."

The man then continued walking like nothing happened but the girl was still settling there on the floor under the rains. Ezra also remained silent, he couldn't comprehend the situation.

The girl turned her face towards him. "Can you still see me?" The question was directed towards him.

"Yes, I can still see you. Why are you asking me that question?"

"…That man couldn't see me…same goes with other people, that should be the case."

Eee~ Then what that supposed to mean, why can I see you?

"Then, why can I see you?"

"I don't know?  that was supposed to be my line."

Apart from being reborn, this was also an odd case that had happened to Ezra. The girl said that people couldn't able to see her but somehow he was the only one who catches sight of her. Ezra was still thunderstruck but for time being he had thought of one thing that he should be doing.

"I still don't understand right now but for now we should take shelter somewhere else." He entrusts his hand to the girl that was seemed to be in distress. She nodded her head and grabbed Ezra hand and both of them headed toward a café nearby that has an extensive canopy.

As he was holding her hand, he could felt her warm small hand. The girl is a real thing, she was not an illusion or a spiritual being. Was this perhaps because of magic? Is there magic that can make someone unseen? If that was the case then why I'm the only one who can see her? As he was walking to the café, lots of questions had lingered in his mind. There were faint tears in her eyes.

When we arrived at the café, a woman who works there came to us. She was asking me about my parent but it seems like she was directing the question to me only and not to the girl next to me.

The others really can't see her, the girl loose an emphatic silent sound. Still, the woman couldn't hear that she was crying.

This girl how long has she been living like this? After I told to the workers there that I want to take shelter here, she understood it. We then walked to the edge of the cafe that have a single table with two fashionable chairs.

It a good idea to sit there since there are nobody in that location. After that the woman left us and resumes her duty.

The girl just remains low.

Am I the only one who can see and hear her?
