16 The Lost Girl

In this world, elements are divided into three types. Elementary Elements, Advanced Elements, and Divine Elements. Elementary Elements are the four basic elements that most people have as their Element Affinity. Such as Fire, Water, Earth and Wind. Advanced Elements are the elements that evolved from the Elementary Elements. The most common one is Ice, Lightning and plant.

Lastly, the Divine Elements which is the rarest Element-Affinity. They only consist of two, Dark and Light. The understanding about how human ability to use only the element that they have an affinity toward it is still in studying. Some people say that some people are just gifted, but I'm not the one who count on that kind of belief.

From my master standpoint as long as you are willing to learn then anything is possible. What he said and taught me justified that his statement is the evidence. If I can conjure all of the elements, you would be consider as the greatest mage in Azcrane history, no one has ever reached that stage yet, but still to be able to use four is already outstanding.

I'm pleased with my talent.

However, this girl in front of me right now might be different. She's a real prodigy. I mean she even had her mana core developed at the age of 6. She even has a divine element. Who knows maybe in the future she might able to use more than just one element.

After a brief moment, she opened her eyes. That was quick. Did she manage to turn it off? I was waiting for her reaction.

"The tickling feeling is gone"

Gone? Does that mean she had done it?

"Now…can you see me? Oh, that won't work since you can see me either if I'm invisible or not."

"How about you go and look yourself in that puddle over there."

When she looked into the puddle, she could see an image of a girl with radiant platinum hair reflected. She finally can be seen. A permanent smile displayed on her face. She was truly happy.

"Should we go and test it out?" I asked her.

I held out my hand to her, after she grabs it we walk our way out of the back alley into the street. As we were stepping, accidentally we almost bump with some people. They were getting mad at us for making some of their belongings fell from their hands.

"Hey kids, watch where you're going!" the woman wailed at us. The way she shouted 'kids' proved that Elora can be seen by people.

"Sorry, we didn't mean it!" Elora shouted while raising her hand waved to the woman. I actually mean to bump with them, it was part of my scheme. This is what kids supposed to do at this age. Causing chaos and ruckus everywhere they go.

"Do you understand how to control it?"

"Yes, it's kind of easy exactly like mana circulation, by the way, how did you do that? Did you have three Element-Affinity?"

Ahh, the question finally came from her, well who would not be surprised by that. Even Theo and Clara had been asking me a lot of question. "I tell you later."

"I think, for now, we should start looking for your maid, she's probably worried about you."

After that, we agreed to look for her maid. She said her name is Annie and she wore a brown dress. However, after giving some thought, it will take a lot of time and energy to just search for her around this big city.

"Do you remember your home?"

She shook her head. "No, and it's probably far from here." If that was her answer then the best solution is to take her to the Adventure Guild until Andrew came back from his work and then tell him about Elora. He can help to send her to her home.

Then, both of us walk steered to the Adventurer Guild.

 .

.

.

"Alright everyone, you hear it, if any one of you could find the daughter of Duke Walter, they will be given a proper reward."

After the Guild Assistant had informed the adventurers about the request from the Duke, all of them were pumped to go around the city to search for the lost girl.

"Thank you very much." A young woman in a brown dress slightly bowed herself to the assistant. After the young maid had told the Duke about her daughter went missing, he quickly gave orders to her to put a search request at the Adventurer Guild.

If any nobles in this country had heard about the shortcoming of this maid for not able to keep on watch on the 'young lady', they would probably discharge the maid, the worst she could be executed but Duke Walter forgave her remiss.

The Duke also didn't blame her since he and his wife are the only ones who knew that it probably because of the same phase again that made her daughter became unseen. They didn't anticipate the phase will happen again.

For now, the Duke was also taken part in the searching team with his guards.

Then, came a man barged into the guild. "Ezra!! Are you still here!" The loud sound of the door slammed caused the two women at the counter and the maid to be is surprised.

The man rushed to the counter with an anxious face. "Did you see my son here?"

Both of the women eyebrows furrowed in unison. "Wait, didn't you leave with him on your quest?"

The man explained that he forgot about bringing his son along with him after done with the delivery quest he suddenly remembered it. The women were startled, unable to comprehend how could he forgot about his son after he had introduced him to them.

"If you were slightly earlier, we could also include your son in the search quest."

After hearing that, he felt a little bit of regret for arriving late at the guild. Had he came a little bit earlier he could also include his son in the search quest. However, since it was still in the morning, it's not too late for him to pin another search request.

With that he decided to do that, then suddenly when he was about to describe his son features to the assistants of the guild, the guild front door suddenly been pushed open.

.

.

.

This was my second time coming to the Adventure Guild, even it was also on the same day, it still caught me with its well-structured design.

"Wow, it's bigger than I thought." Hearing those words from her showed that she must have known about Adventurer Guild. She was also bewilder by this massive building. Her mouth was still left gaping.

Then, both of us pushed the door open and found out that the guild was empty. Only a few people at the counter. The two women were still there doing their responsibility. A middle-aged man and a maid were also next to the counter.

Where did everyone go? Wait, why did the two of them look familiar? A young woman in a brown dress like how it was described by Elora, a middle-aged man which has blue hair and blue eyes that looks exactly like Andrew.

Slowly, I came to recognize. That man is Andrew.

"Annie!" Elora cried out the maid name that she had told me while sprinted her way toward her. It really was her maid.

"Elora!" the maid also gave an immediate reaction to Elora.

After a brief moment, I soon saw in my field vision the middle-aged man was scampering like a lunatic toward me while summoning my name. "Ezra!"

I couldn't understand my feeling at the moment, my hair skin stood up, I felt sudden panic and chilling in my body. With the way Andrew was dashing toward me, is he trying to tackle me to death!

"Ufff…"

After speeding his way, he quickly grabbed me and tossed me in the air. He was glad for sure and was relieved that I was safe. If he returned alone without me, who might know what Katelyn might do to him?

Then, both of us were having a moment where we were being hugged by our worried guardian. The two women just stare at us with a heart-warming smile.

.

.

.

After that, both of us had explained to them the whole story from how Elora separated from Annie and how I was left by my dad to how Elora and I met at the water fountain. Some parts of the story were covered up with white lies. Apart from Elora invisibility and my magic, everything was true.

"I was wondering why did the guild so empty? Where did everyone go?" Elora was curious to know. Her curiosity also made me inquiring to know too. Both of us look at the women at the counter directing the question toward them.

"Well, all of them had left the guild to search for you, young lady. Still, till now they didn't know that you are already here."

"Oh my, then we probably should let them know about it."

"No, let them be, they should take some stroll around the city and enjoying themselves outdoor instead of just remaining rotten here. Since it was the Crimson Moon Month, most of the magical beast became stronger and more dangerous, some of the adventurers decided to spent their time idle in the town or in the Adventurer Guild."

Ah, I had totally forgotten about the Crimson Moon Month. Apparently, it started a few days ago. Usually, during this month, most of the magical beast went rampage into human territory. They suddenly went wild and became stronger.

In the past, I had to always hide in the bunker where every town had near the chief village house. However, After I had lived with my master, even during the Crimson Moon Month, the beast didn't even come around the master house.

"Then would that mean we are going to be attacked by the magical beast?" Apparently, when the conversation had prolonged to the interesting part, I couldn't help myself to ask some question about it.

"Don't worry about it, as long as the magic tower is still standing, the magical beast wouldn't dare to come to invade into the Rura Kingdom. Right Aldea? " One of the women answered.

"Yup, since it was built, not a single magical beast came close to our kingdom."' Aldea backed her up.

Magic Tower? That seems like something new. I never heard it before.

"Alright it's late now, we need to get home now Ezra."

Andrew was also worried about Katelyn.

Indeed, we been in the city plaza for a long time already. I follow Andrew on his way toward the front door. Then, I felt like my sleeve was been pulled. Before I turned around I had already guess who was it.

I turned around my body, Elora was the one that holds my sleeve.

"Hey Ezra…mm...thank you… let's see each other again."

"Oh yeah sure" After I said that I caught a glimpse of her lips was curling upward.

With that, Both of us waved our hand to each other. I think I will see her again or not I will at least heard about her because of her talent. In the future, I'm sure she will turn into someone great.

Then, I rode the horse with Andrew and went back home. What was her last name again? Elora Swaglight? Elora Smurflight? Oh no, I can't remember it properly. Do some of Andrew forgetfulness become a part of me? Did that also count as genetic?

By the amount of time had passed by, I had decided to remember her as Elora Smurflight, the invisible fountain girl and jot it down into my diary. It's a bad thing to forget other people when other people remember you.
