1 Chapter 1: Rebirth

Bright. That was all Evelyn could think when she opened her eyes. She blinked confused. Where was the dark room she had been trapped in? Shouldn't she be dead by now? She clearly remembered her very own sister's expression of victory, as she stabbed Evelyn to death. Even her boyfriend, Kai, stared at her with cold eyes as he held her sister, Ivy, in his embrace. Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment before reopening them. Looking around, she realized she was lying in her college dorm room. She had returned 7 years in the past to when she was 18.

Looking at the ceiling, Evelyn's heart felt cold. In her previous life she had been betrayed by the people she loved and trusted the most. Since she was given a second chance, she was not going to let those who hurt her go unpunished.

"Evie, you're awake!" Rose exclaimed as she burst into the room. Evelyn looked at the person she used to think was her best friend. It was only before she died that she realized Rose and Ivy colluded with each other to cause her downfall. She sneered inwardly as she took in Rose's fake demeanor but maintained a calm expression on her face. "Oh my gosh, I was so worried about you since you suddenly passed out in gym class," Rose said as she held onto Evelyn's arm.

"I'm fine. I must have been too exhausted from studying last night," Evelyn said, trying to hide her disgust at Rose's innocent act. In her past life, she always had fainting spells, but she thought that it was just due to her weak constitution. Little did she know that the supplements she took were actually a slow acting poison that Rose had given her. In this life, Evelyn would not forget about Ivy and Rose's schemes, and she was going to let them suffer as much as she did.

"You should study less and sleep more. I'm always so worried about you." Rose didn't suspect a thing. "Anyway, rest a little longer. I'm going to go to class now," Rose said, waving as she closed the door behind her.

Finally, Evelyn thought. She continued to lie in bed to sort out her memories. The year was 20xx and she was currently a sophomore at C University. Evelyn smiled coldly. She was going to live her life this time around to the fullest, without forgetting about her revenge of course.
