38 Chapter 38 - Dinner & Business

After leaving the tea house with Lin Beifeng, Han Sen went to his room in the shelter. It had been a long time since he only came back here to leave occasional meat chunks for his guinea snake, and the rest relied on the Black Crystal to keep the beast alive, as there was nothing important anyway. And since the room was more or less like a safebox, he only left Little Snake growing in there.

As soon as he entered, he looked at his bed where he kept the snake enclosure and saw that the glass was already broken and the snake couldn't be seen anywhere.

"Under the bed? Do you think I'm some kind of closet monster for you to have to hide there?" Han Sen's senses picked up the presence of the creature under the bed, and he approached equipped with his armor.

Easily lifting the bed, he saw when the snake flew towards him to bite and inject venom. Its appearance was much larger and became completely white with black markings on its body. Even its way of attacking was more aggressive, but still as inexperienced as before.

"I've already told you to calm down, sweetheart..." Han Sen remembered the first time it did that and ended up in the same situation. Trapped in his hand. "I know much better ways to get my attention than just coming here..." Han Sen teased her as soon as he entered. Not that he cared about fighting her, it was just getting boring after a certain period of time.

"We're here to train. You said you obtained some Sacred-Blood gene points, so I want to see how much you've improved." With flushed cheeks, she ignored his comment and assumed a fighting stance. She wanted to test how strong he had become after his successful hunt.

"So here we go." With full control of his strength, Han Sen had been fighting with her under control since they started a long time ago. He just had to unleash a little more of it now. Or rather, try to maintain it at the same rate since he had become even stronger.

Qin Xuan attacked in the immediate second the fight began, not giving Han Sen a chance to move properly. But she wasn't foolish and delivered a round kick to create distance from Han Sen.

It seemed to have worked, but suddenly she saw two strikes coming towards her rapidly. While one strike was a punch that seemed to move as slow as a snail, yet still approaching very quickly, the other was a claw that didn't even seem like a strike. Not knowing what to do, she decided to retreat instead of trying to face these strikes.

Increasing her strength even further, to about 70%, she began to attack Han Sen with the best of her abilities. Han Sen also defended and counterattacked while correcting several of her mistakes during the battle. He didn't need much practice to advance in his martial arts, so apart from Minor Mime Cannon and Primal Darkness Bust, which were martial arts that he made particularly dangerous, all the others could be tested.

'If I didn't have superior gene points, he would have defeated me a long time ago with just one fist. I don't think anyone in the Steel Armor Shelter can fight against him when he fills at least half of the Sacred-Blood gene points...' Qin Xuan thought to herself after she fighted with Han Sen many times.

Even though she had increased her strength by 80%, which is equivalent to about 13 Fitness points, he could still handle it.

"Very well, then." Han Sen loosened his grip on her, causing her to fall into his embrace, still limp. "This dinner will be better than the previous ones, I promise..."

"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty!" Han Sen had just finished preparing breakfast when he saw Qin Xuan coming down the stairs covered only in a thin white sheet. "Didn't you even have time to find your clothes?"

"You messed them all up! Who the hell thinks about doing these things in the closet??" Qin Xuan sat at the table, sulking and pouting, but still enjoying the delicious breakfast. She missed this food so much, and she almost freaked out because she couldn't find anything that could satisfy her palate after the last dinner they had.

"And you didn't like it? I didn't see you complain when you were wearing that bikini-" Han Sen held her hand, which was almost pinching him, and whispered in her ear, "If you pinch me once more, I will stick my finger in that place again."

"Ass Freak!" Qin Xuan muttered under her breath, completely frustrated.

"With you alone, don't worry." Han Sen heard what she said and felt strange about how fate worked. In the novel, Han Sen earned the nickname because he stabbed her in the butt, while now she called him that for an even better reason...

After having breakfast, they dressed up again. Qin Xuan was wearing her army uniform again, while he was in a casual yet sophisticated outfit.

"Where are you going?" Seeing that he looked too handsome, more than usual, she asked in doubt. Not that she was jealous, but it was strange that he dressed up like that to go to the Sanctuary.

"I'm going to do some business. You know, loan sharking, theft, pimping, drugs-" Han Sen once again grabbed her hand as she was about to pinch him and raised an eyebrow.

"If you don't want to tell me, then don't! Hmph!" Qin Xuan averted her gaze from his face, angry that he didn't even want to tell her where he was going. It was already the second time they had slept together and he was acting like a playboy.

"It seems like someone deserves a punishment here!" Han Sen used a divine skill and Qin Xuan's clothes suddenly disappeared from her body.

"You're late." Jade commented as soon as she saw Han Sen stepping out of the VIP elevator. It was the one they used to get to their personal offices.

"I am the owner of the company, Jade. I can literally arrive whenever I want, and I'm not even joking." Han Sen didn't bother with her always indifferent face and sat in the chair across her, putting his feet on the table.

Looking at his feet that almost touched some important documents, Jade quickly ignored it and started with the report he asked for before coming.

"Very well. With the sales of the Delivery Robot V1.0, codename Otis, being more than stellar, both Moon Star's reputation and Digital Crowd's credibility were highly evaluated, and we achieved a stable position in the planetary market. There are several interplanetary sales opportunities, but we are keeping these contracts on hold for the launch of Earl, the Delivery Robot V2.0. We also leaked false information about the release of a domestic version of Otis to slightly influence the market."

"Are Digital Crowd's marketing and negotiation strategies working? Has anyone managed to copy the same thing?" Han Sen grabbed a snack that Jade was eating and started eating it. "Do whatever you want." Jade lowered her head as she spoke. Her voice seemed to contain a hint of emotion that she normally didn't show. And the way she said it was more than obvious for Han Sen to understand.

"You see, my heart is very kind, so I will do this favor for you. I know you're hiding a smile on those beautiful lips, so I'll leave you alone to enjoy the moment." Knowing it was the right time to leave, he put one last snack in his mouth and walked towards the elevator.

As soon as he entered and was about to press the ground floor button, he noticed that Jade looked up, with a rare light smile on her lips.

"Check your comlink when you leave. Some contacts from Saint Martial Hall are interested in talking to you." After saying that, the smile lingered for just a bit before disappearing and returning to her indifferent face.

"Have a great day, dear Jade." Han Sen pressed the ground floor button and soon the elevator closed.

Jade, who looked again as the doors closed, remained serious for a while before a beautiful smile spread across her face. Knowing all that news seemed to have lifted a burden off her heart and gave a breath of relief.

"This boy really knows how to put a smile on someone's face..."
