1 First Book

It has been 11 years since he was born in this world. Such a long time has enabled him to accept the reality that his 30 years old soul had reborn again in this world. He himself is special in his previous life. He has a genius intellect and amazing memory capacity. He majored as a mathematician as he was born in an academic family. He lacks the playfulness and naivety that kids supposed to have and instead possesses a mature mind comparable to theirs.

He is opinionated and has his own idea. Hence, David and Mary did not restrict his opinions and views for his future. They hope their son will be happy with his own way of life. His matured mind and intellect has won them completely.

Jack has told them that he dreamt of being a great businessman in the future and earns a lot of money. His parents believe that he will someday achieve his dream and they support his decision since then.

Jack has once apologized to his parents for not able to give them a normal child. But David and Mary never regret being his parents for even a second. "No matter who you are and will be, you will always be our son." That was the sentence that resonated with Jack as his parents support was important and crucial to him. This point is completely different from his previous life where his parents believed that being a businessman was not meaningful enough for their academic family.

Jack did not hide his intelligence from his parents and he already completed high school. Now, he is 11 years old and ready to go to the university. He plans to earn his first pot of gold in his university years.

He has written the first book of the Harry Potter series. This series had made billions of dollars in his previous life. In 1991, perhaps the idea of the book is not even conceived yet by the author. Hence, he take his chance of making a name and money for investment and capital.

With his father's connection, David managed to secure 10% royalty for him and he only give the publishing house the copyright for the book printing only. Meaning that the other copyrights such as e-book, film and television and games copyright were still with him. This was already considered beneficial for a rookie author. But for him any additional percentage would add millions of dollar in his bank account in the future. Hence, David and Jack successfully schemed their way up to secure a gambling contract with the publishing house.

In the contract, if the book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone do not managed to score 100 thousand books, he will not receive any profits at all. If the 100 thousands books were sold, he gain the basic 10% royalty. The book manages to reach 1 million count, he will get 13% royalty. If it reach 5 millions, he would gain 15% royalty. And the last one, if the book sold are 50 millions copies and above, he will gain 20% of the profits. 20% is the cap for Jack. Of course this is only for trade paperback royalty. The hardcover royalty is also included in the gambling contract and will only be higher compared to trade paperback royalty.

This contract is full of trap Jack has plan for his own benefits. First of all, for an author, no matter how good his novel was, it will be hard for him to sell even 10 thousand copies. Even if Jack's appointed editor by the publishing house is positive about his book, in his mind, it will only reach the level of hundreds of thousand. But what he did not know was the fact that Harry Potter was a phenomenal work in his previous life reaching a total of 120 millions of copies sold. Hence, for Jack getting the 20% royalty is no difficulty. Time will prove him the winner.

As the contract has been signed, the books will be published in half a month with a total of 100 thousand copies for the first printing, showing how confident the publishing house of Jack. The marketing for the book had already been working hard for a month now. The books would be published under the pen name of J.W. , the abbreviation of his name. The fame of his work will make it hard for him to keep a low profile in the future considering his age now. It will be hard for the public to know and accept that an underaged boy of 11 years old abled to write such an amazing novels. Since he is planning to pursue the career of a businessman, there is no obligation for him to stand out so much in the public like a Hollywood star. The published date also coincides with the date of his first class in university. Since he graduated for high school, he receives an offer to complete his bachelor degree at Princeton University. He will major in computer programming. Since Princeton University is also famous and known for its fame of Mathematics haven, he can slowly relive his mathematics skill and knowledge at the university.
