3 Escape [long chapter]

First POV

Three days have passed since I started meditating to sense my mana. It did not take me until the second day of hard diligent to sense my mana. I am currently my crib staring up at the castle ceiling.

'Today is the day the Zogratis siblings come back from their mission. If it plays out like in the show, they will start their attack at night with a few of the magic knights' traitors'

While thinking this I turn my head towards the window looking outside I saw snow falling children playing with each other, adults talking with one another and I could see a drunken man passed out on the street but someone went to him and gave him a helping hand, I could see that smiles where on all of the citizens faces they might not be wealth but they were still happy. Unbeknownst to them that the country will be in pandemonium tonight.

Even though I knew many people would be killed it did not bother me in the lease. I did not know who those people are on the street, and I did not have the power to protect them. So, it was pointless to feel guilty or remorse at what would happen to them. My personality did not change even in this life as long as I was safe and my loved ones where ok it did not matter if the world burned around me as long as my interest were safe it did not matter what happen.

On the other side of the room the door open and what came in was my mother and father.

My mother took me out of the crib and held be beside my father as they began to talk

"I heard those three killed all the rebels"

"Yes"

"Did you order them to do so"

"Don't be ridiculous!"

My mother then turns towards the wind and look through it

"I cannot bring myself to like those three"

"I know darling how they finish their missions is quiet…. disturbing but at least they are loyal to the kingdom"

'After tonight they won't be'

Sarcastically thinking that I also look through the window but instead of looking at the capital like my mother I looked at the forest. I could see faint movement through the trees.

'So, it has begun'

Suddenly an explosion occurred at the other side of the castle causing it to shake.

"What is happening?"

My mother asks worriedly while holding me tight.

"It seems like we are under attack darling"

"But who would attack us? we have no dispute against any other kingdom"

The next moment the door was open, and sir Niaflem came in.

"Your majesty we are under attack by the Zogratis sibling. It seems they possess the devil's power"

"What! they made a contract with a devil tell me where are they now"

"They are on the right wing of the castle your majesty also they are being aided by some of the magic knights"

"traitors"

my father had a scornful look when he heard some of his magic knight were helping the Zogratis sibling .

"Darling what should we do now?"

"The only thing we can do now is to insure Yuno safety with how things are going we won't know who is friend or foe and if we were to escape with Yuno they would chase us down"

"Knight Niaflem take Yuno and escape we will stay back with some magic knight that are still loyal and be distraction while you escape with him.

"But your majesty!"

"ITS AN ORDER! they were our most powerful magic knights, and they now have the power of the devil the best thing we can do is hold them back so you can escape with Yuno"

My mother then began to cry one by one her tears began to fall on me

"It has only been a few days since I gave birth to him and now, we have to separate"

"I know this is difficult on you, but we must insure his safety"

"I know that"

She then whispered to me.

"Goodbye Yuno although you may forget me, I will always love you

She held me tightly never wanting to let me go. She then kissed my forehead and gave me to Hendrick. [A/N: I decided to name Ralph's father Hendrick]

"Please make sure that he is safe"

"I promise I will your majesty"

Holding me Hendrick vowed to my parent that he will protect me.

"Now go they can arrive any moment now take a few magic knights with you on your way"

"Yes, your majesty"

Hendrick then ran through the door going through the castle hallway.

[Third POV]

In a different location another sorrowful scene is being played. Fog surrounded a figure that was wearing a dark cloak and holding a basket although it was foggy you could still see the tears falling from the cloak figure. A feminine yet sorrowful voice came out of the cloak figure.

"I am sorry that I was not a good mother for you, and I am I sorry that I will never be there for you, for your birthday, for your first steps and even for your first crush but by leaving you here you can be safe away for my cursed constitution"

A baby's giggle could be heard coming from the basket as of its hand that tried to touch the cloak figure's face. She retracted her head for the baby hand and place the basket on the ground near a door. She then began to walk away but suddenly stop and looked at the basket one more time.

"Goodbye Asta I hope you live a blessed life"

She then continues walking as the fog enveloped her, her figure could no longer be seen.

[First POV] [At the castle]

Hendrick was still running down the hallway that was now on flames. When suddenly he heard a shout.

"Father!"

Turning around Hendrick saw his son running towards him.

"Where is the King and Queen"

Hendrick bit his lip and spoke.

"They have left the future with me"

"I will buy us some time please hurry"

"Ralph, I swear to protect prince Yuno with my life make sure you survive"

Hendrick then continue running through the hallway leaving Ralph behind. We reach at the back door of the castle and left through it. Hendrick keep on running going into the forest where he meets two more magic knights that were wearing cloaks and holding a basket

"Is prince Yuno safe"

"Yes, I don't think they would actually kill prince Yuno but there are no guarantees"

"But they have no right to the throne they need prince Yuno"

'True the only reason they would need me is to use me as a puppet'

"I don't know I feel something more ominous happening and I cannot put my finger on it"

"We don't have a lot of time so let's move according to plan"

They spitted up and went in different direction Hendrick ran to the south while the other ran to different areas. While Hendrick was running, we were attacked by two of the traitors Hendrick was able to fight them off and escape but still got injured on his foot. A he slowly walked and panted we reach at the edge of a cliff that had a strong updraft. Looking down the cliff Hendrick contemplated and spoke.

"I swear to protect you prince Yuno and I don't think I could win again IF those traitors fought me again"

Hearing fast footsteps behind us Hendrick jump down the cliff. The only thing I could see was falling snow and the two traitors that was looking down the cliff then everything went black. The only thing I could hear was Hendrick panting.

'He must be on his last leg figuratively and literally due to him ruing all night and losing a lot of blood the only reason why he continues is his vow to protect me he truly is a man of his word"

As Hendrick keep on walk light appear we were at an opening in the forest. Hendrick look forward and saw a building.

"That is a church it should be safe there. This is my final spell for you prince Yuno please become stronger"

As Hendrick cast his spell wind began to gather around me make me levitate. the wind then pushed me forward towards the church.

'Hendrick I will remember your sacrifice I might not have known you for long, but I am forever grateful '

As I reach close to the church the wind slowed down and eventually stopped at the door of the church. Looking around I could see a basket beside me carrying another baby.

'I guess Richita left Asta here earlier'

Then suddenly Asta began to cry loudly to the point it scared of the birds that where on the church roof. Then the church door open and came out was a pastor who had brown hair with parts turning white and a necklace with a cross on it.

"What is the ruckus so early in the mourning"

He then looked down toward me and Asta.

"Another pair of orphans *sigh* will let's get you guys inside before you catch a cold"

He took us both up and went back into the church.

' Now that I am completely safe, I can now fall asleep. I had to stay up all night to make sure that things goes well so I am exhausted'
