Chapter 23

(Now I know some of you commented on my killing of Thor, why, you ask?

Ares does not care….not one bit. He doesn't care if Odin and Heimdall see's him they'll both die pretty soon, plus Norse mythology has no real significance in the dc universe, in fact Zeus killed Thor with one hit, when Thor threw mjolnir at him and Zeus caught it and threw it back. If it was marvel Thor I'd get it but dc Thor has no relevance whatsoever, so I thought, 'hmmm, Thor is bitch made in dc, but mjolnir is cool, I want Ares to have it.' So there you go.)

??? POV

Helheim, It is a land of unyielding cold. Fires cannot burn there, and no magic in all the Nine Realms can create a blaze. A depressing color hangs in the atmosphere…atleast to most, hehehehe, to me….its a second home.

I can feel the energy return to my body, Naglfar is now free from its moorings. The ship that is made from the finger and toenails of the dead shall easily sail the flooded land my son has created. With the crew being an army of giants no one shall stop us not even my buffoon of a nephew 'Thor'.

Fenrir, my son, with fire blazing from his eyes and nostrils, will run across the earth, with his lower jaw on the ground and his upper jaw against the top of the sky, devouring everything in his path. Jörmungandr, my other son, will spit his venom over all the world, poisoning land, water, and air alike.

3rd POV

"My king-"

"I know of the horn blow Heimdall, how could I have not. Now tell me of the situation."

"The dome of the sky has been split, and from the crack emerged the fire-giants from Muspelheim-"

"Their leader?" Odin becomes a little anxious at the next part.

"Their leader is Surtr, with a flaming sword brighter than the sun in his hand. They march across what remains of the Bifrost, as the bridge has broken fallen behind them."

"You will lead the Aesir to confront them at Vigrid, am I clear?"

"Yes, ill leave immediately!"

Odin himself leaves to gather the 'Einherjar' to battle against the forces of evil.

With Heimdall, after gathering a bulk of the gods for battle and traveling to Vigrid to stall the invasion and wait for Odin.

With him stood countless gods of all manner of things. From war and conquest to flowers and grass they all stood ready to die for their home.

At the grounds of Vigrid, the gods see Surtr in all his fiery glory along with his fire giants and demons from Musphelheim.

Next to him, also leading his army is-

"Loki"

Sif spits venom on his name, she still didn't forgive him for cutting her luscious hair. Many gods didn't like Loki, bug somehow he managed to talk his way back into their good graces.

Behind Loki is the army of the dead he leads. Men and women from helheim. This army includes the dead bodies of those that died a shameful death, all of them wanting glory they failed to obtain when they were alive.

Out of the water ships drift through the fog, each carrying the Jotuns, all of them blood thirsty for god blood.

"ASGARDIANSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Odin appears on the side of the gods atop his loyal eight-legged steed 'Sleipnir'. On his right and left were his wolf companions 'Geri' and 'Freki' along with his raven companions 'Huginn' and 'Muninn'.

"WE HAVE KNOWN THAT THE GREAT BATTLE WAS INEVITABLE!!!! WE HAVE PREPARED OURSELVES FOR THIS GREAT DAY FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS!!!"

The gates of valhalla open behind him and thousands of warriors stepped out of the great hall and formed Odin's 'great army'. This army comprised the bravest warriors, who, while they were alive, died bravely and honorably.

As soon as the army settled, Odin on his glorious eight-legged horse ordered the attack. Thousands of super powered beings were about to be in the biggest war throughout history.

War gods across the world and of other pantheons felt their blood boiling and their body start to react.

Each and every war god started to fill more powerful, as if their divinity is screaming at them "GO KILL SOMETHING AAHHHAHAHAHAHAH"

Ares felt himself empowered once again, he quickly regains his strength from the previous battle. He feels the rage and bloodlust start to take over him again.

'Mind over matter'

Ares mentally chanting a mantra his football coach gave him in his old life.

However such mortal sayings cannot beat the thirst for a war of gods.

'HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHE'

Ares face morphs into one of bloodlust once more, so much that it starts to radiate outward. Summoning Mjolnir into his hand he tries the maneuver Thor did while fighting him and perfectly launches himself into the air, floating while trying ti locate the battlefield he senses the divine blood being shed and rockets off towards the event.

On the battlefield—-

The forces of the gods and evil collided with each other and the impact was so immense that it made Yggdrasil tremble.

Hyrum, leading the Ice giants began to savagely fight Odin's ranks, cleaving through dozens of warriors with a single swing of his battle axe. The others also savagely fighting.

With Loki, leading the dead, he began to slay numerous enemies using the crowd of chaos as his tool, slowly making his way to Heimdall, so he could blind the fool.

Frey and his golden boar along with some of his Vanir brethren and sisters fought gallantly against the hordes of fire giants and demons. Slaying them as they came the Vanir were not slouches in combat along with their magical capabilities they were a fearsome foe.

Frey proving his bravery, attacked Surtr valiantly, knowing he would not win yet did so anyway. He did his very best but that was not enough, for Surtr struck the god down with his flaming sword, the attack not only killed Frey but killed a number of his fellow Vanir as well. As such, Frey was the first god to crumble on the battlefield.

The second to fall amongst the brave gods was Tyr, Odin's own son. However he did not die without a fight, facing Garm, the wolf who guard the dead in a great battle, but eventually met his end but not without spearing the wolf in the heart, bringing it out with him.

Many gods started to fall after that. Especially when the fearsome 'Fenrir' showed up to the battle looking for Odin especially.

Odin knew his supreme destiny was to face the beast and so without fear the king rode. 'Gungnir' in head facing forward charging head first to his ultimate demise.

Fenrir also charging forward opened his great maw, swallowing up any unlucky warriors and gods in his way.

Eventually Odin in all his glory leaped from his horse, spear held overhead in both hands and plunged straight down Fenrir's throat, on his descent into the throat Odin plunges his spear along the insides of Fenrir's body, tearing up his throat and eventually some of his stomach.

Fenrir, feeling the struggling god trying to kill him from the inside, only laughs and begins to mock the Aesir's wisest.

"HEHEHEHE, PATHETIC OLD GOD, STRUGGLE POINTLESSLY, HEHEHEHEH"

The surviving warriors and gods, hearing such vexing comments filled their hearts with hate.

Odin's own son, Vidar overcame with fury charges the wolf. Seeing another easy kill, he opens his maw once more, however Vidar lands on the tongue of the wolf, trying to crush his enemy with his powerful jaws, he bites down harder however Vidar equipped with specially made gear to fight the wolf, pushes back with all his strength and fury, tearing Fenrir's jaw in half and showering the battle field in blood.

"Hehehehe, so much to play with!" Ares finally arriving at the battlefield notices the rain of blood.

Even with his sons death, Loki felt satisfied with the carnage and deaths of the gods. "Do you think I would not notice you Loki?"

"Heeheh, of course you did, you always notice, heheheh."

Heimdall unamused races to Loki and begins an assualt. The plasticity of the quarrel made the duel look like a deadly dance of blades. Each of them having their own strategies to win.

Loki jumped over Heimdall. Heimdall backed away and let him land safely, but then closed in on him quickly, twitching the sword with his right hand.

Don't look at the knife, silly man," Loki chided him. "You must fix your gaze upon your opponent's eyes-just as Your sister stares into mine when I am pleasuring her."

Heimdall, reckoning that this was enough, wrapped his right arm across his body, drawing the blade back in position to let go a hay-maker. Part of the plan was to convince Loki that his predictable taunts had actually made him angry. So he let out a bellow as he launched himself toward Loki while letting go a mighty backhanded swing.

Loki's strength could never stand up to a scything attack by the heavier sword, and so he had little choice but to drop his blade and step back to let it whoosh by. But Heimdall's forward rush would bring him into dagger range. So Loki drew his right foot (which had been foremost) back, while pivoting on his left, turning sideways to let Heimdall charge past him. At the same time he raised his left hand so that he could plunge the dagger into his ribs as he went by.

All of which went according to plan except for the last bit. For instead of rushing by standing up, Heimdall had planted his feet and dived forwards, so that his trunk was too low to receive Loki's dagger. The back-handed cut had flung his body into a twisting movement from his left to his right, and so as he hurtled past he was spinning to face his opponent's legs. Heimdall's left arm and shoulder went through first, extended to take his impact on the ground. Then his head, and the right arm and sword trailing along his body. As soon as his left elbow struck the peat he curled that arm around and caught Loki's right leg, trapping it against his body.

Loki, now suddenly stuck begins to try and use his magic, but he is however struck right under light armor, right in the heart. As a act of desperation, Loki uses the last of his now fleeting magic to conjure a knife and stab at Heimdall's throat, hitting true.

Now rapidly dying he regrets not using his sword or his magic at the start of the battle.

A storm begins to gather as Surtr is already begun to destroy Asgard, as he had left a while ago bug his forces are still here.

Lightning begins to strike down at the battlefield killing hundreds of warriors no matter the side they're on.

'Hehehe, so now I can force certain emotions onto gods.' Ares ponders as he goes on a killing spree with his new power.

'Loki, the first of many test subjects, you have my thanks.' Ares decided to test if his emotional control with war inducment would finally work on gods and he succeeded. Putting humongous amounts of arrogance in his head already adding to the massive reserves he already has. The reason Loki couldn't notice his mind be played with?

The war is empowering Ares to a degree unlike any before, being so close, while also being the MAIN god of war does that. Many gods across the world and in Norse have war divinities yet alot of them have alot of different divinities along with war, so their war divinity is not as strong as Ares, who has almost all of his divinity being war/violent related.

Now getting a hang of his new couple of powers he starts to test on the battlefield. With a thought, Ares summons multiple tornadoes to the battlefield field to suck up and suffocate many of his enemies.

Draining their powers also, mostly getting war and fertility related powers.

Ares with another flick of will summons thousands of weapons and showers the battlefield to try and create more godly blood.

Amongst the battlefield is pure chaos, many sides not knowing what's happening just in a killing frenzy, not able to control their bodies while being bombarded with deadly lightning, tornadoes and a torrent of raining blades.

Eventually the ground has been only moisturized with gallons of divine blood.

For the first time ever Ares gains control of god blood and makes it raise from the ground, pulling out the ground with it along with bodies and still living gods and giants.

'HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHE, NOW DIE, ALLL OF YOUU'

Ares forms a blood tsunami to drown every living thing upon the battlefield, a couple hundred giants ,undead and gods are left in total.

The wave devastates the rest of the people fighting, and drowns them all in their friends and enemies blood.

Ares slowly descends to the ground, panting heavily, his blood high starts to calm down.

'I hate being like that.' Because of his Bezerk Madness, if pushed far enough or if participating in a war of a grand enough scale, Ares will enter a state of madness, greatly increasing his abilities, yet reverting his control over himself.

'Well...…..-'

Looking around the Destroyed ground he yet again helps create.

'-...time to get a move on…wait ill skin Fenrir and get magical immunity on my cloth and armor, dammit I could've found a way to skin Jörmungandr and get some really good armor. Huhhhh, no matter the past is the past, lets get to skinning. Im sure I could also get Heimdall's eyes implanted.'

In Helheim, the ruler of the plane of the dead sit in silence at the sight of her father being destroyed along with her army by the unfamiliar god.

'Mmmhmm, you'll do very nicely, very powerful too. OH how I cant wait to meet you.'
