1 Chapter 1

"Uh, where the heck am I?"

Looking around the black space he suddenly found himself in, Shao Fan is beyond confused. He started to think back to what happened earlier and finally found out what he is doing here in this black space.

"Damn! I died didn't I? Which stupid bastard drove while drunk! See if I don't kill you!"

Shao Fan screamed out curses while holding his head. Eventually, he gave up and sat on the ground. He looked at the black space he found himself in, which as nothing but him inside of it. He felt annoyed and decided to lay down when something smacked into him.

"Ow! Which bastard hit me!"

He turned around to look for the culprit but only saw a thick book. He picked it up and read the title of it, which is 'Guide to being a System.' and simply dropped the book on the ground.

"Screw that. I am not reading this book that has thousands of damn pages to it! The heck is 'Guide to being a System'! Am I a damn System now or something? This isn't a damn novel!"

He snorted at the book and lay down on the ground to sleep. He has no clue why he is in this weird place, but he might as well just sleep since there is nothing else to do anyways. He lay down for 2 hours before he sat up and started cursing again.

"God dammit! Why the hell can I not fall asleep! Am I not allowed to sleep? Fuck! Whoever brought me here, I dare you to come out! I promise not to punch your face!"

Shao Fan waited for a minute...10 minutes...40 minutes. 2 hours... and he gave up. He silently cursed his luck and picked up the 'Guide to being a System' book again and flipped it open, revealing the first page.

"Number 1: Explain the functions of your System to the Host. Number 2: Help Host complete missions. Number 3: Answer any Host questions. Number 4: Obey your Host. Number 5: Guide the Host. Number 6: ....."

Shao Fan read the guide book constantly, and since he never felt tired nor the need to rest or eat, he simply kept reading and reading for a long time until he managed to finish reading the entire guide. As soon as he read the last sentence, he threw the book to the ground and lay down.

"God damn! How long did I take to read this thing? A day? A week? A month? A year? I can't even freaking tell. Since I can't feel time, I will just assume a few months at most. 3782 pages, my god! Who even made this damn book!"

What he didn't know was that he actually took 1481 Earth years to read the book. The time in the black space is sped up greatly, but he can't tell that. Now that he has read the entire guide, a timer suddenly appeared above him in the air, causing Shao Fan to look up at it.

[4 hours until binding to Host.]

"Damn! I really am going to be someones System now, huh? At least I can somehow remembered everything I read in the guide, or else I would probably fail the most at being a System that can't remember anything. Hope I don't get bound to some weird bastard, or else I would probably just kill myself."

Since he has nothing to do, Shao Fan simply lay on the ground for the next four hours. After four hours passed, Shao Fan suddenly felt his body, or in his case, soul, being guided somewhere by an unknown force.

Knowing that it is binding him to his Host, he doesn't panic and simply lets the random force do whatever it wants. Shao Fan suddenly saw a door appear randomly and he was thrown inside of it, leaving his black space.

"Damn! I left a giant black space only to enter a small black space? At least this one has some stuff inside it, unlike that massive empty black space from before."

Shao Fan was thrown from the big black space into a small black space, one the size of a bedroom. Unlike the other black space, this small black space actually has a few things. There is a bed, a dresser, a bathroom with a shower, a few cabinets and there is also a big screen in the middle of the room, which Shao Fan looks at a few words that are beside the screen.

"You will be using this screen to communicate with your Host. You can use the keyboard underneath the screen to write what you wish to say to your Host, and a screen will appear in front of your Host. There is an option to create a random mission, as well as an option for a specialized mission, which you can create. There is a shop that you have access to, which you can use points you obtain from Host completing your missions. You can buy all sorts of things, such as a body, skills and so forth. Your System I.D is System #812, which is how you will be called unless your Host names you. Good luck, #812."

Shao Fan felt confused at why he would need to buy a body, but he looked down at his body and figured out why. He is basically just a ghost, but he is neither male nor female, just a gender neutral ghostly figure.

"No wonder it said I would be able to buy a body. I don't think I would be that fine staying in this ghostly form that isn't either male or female. Heck, a female body is better than this. Huh, the screen suddenly lit up. Is my Host there now? Well, let's check."

Shao Fan suddenly noticed that the screen where his Host will appear on suddenly lit up, so he stopped thinking of random things and quickly payed attention to the screen. Through the screen, he can see his Host suddenly connected or something.

A very beautiful girl that appears to be in her early twenties appears on the screen. She is 5'8" and has a good body figure. She has pale white skin, long silky black hair that reaches down to her butt, medium sized breasts and a thin figure.

"Damn, so she is my Host? Why is she injured though? Damn, did I really get a freaky Host? Although she is beautiful, she has wounds made from knives and damn, or those bullet holes? Holy shit, what does my Host do? Some cop or something? Well, at least she isn't dying."

"Is she in a hospital or something? It does seem like she is, since she is laying on a bed in the middle of a white room with a few tubes attached to her body. Ah, wait a second... She is god damn dead! Was I just given to a dead Host? Holy shit!"

Shao Fan suddenly began freaking out because he could confirm that his Host is actually dead. There are a few doctors surrounding her body trying to stabilize her, but they eventually stopped what they were doing and backed away from her body while shaking their heads in pity.

They were about to confirm the time of death when the machine hooked up to her suddenly started beeping again, startling the doctors who quickly looked towards it. On the screen, the originally straight line that showed she was dead suddenly began to slowly increase in size randomly, meaning she is alive again.

The doctors quickly snapped out of their daze and went back to the girl on the bed and began doing all sorts of medical stabilization's to her body, and only stopped 3 hours later when her heartbeat was regular and no danger was there.

The doctors all let out a sigh of relief together and seemed to be quite happy that they saved the girl on the bed. The doctors left the room briefly and came back with 4 people, two men and two women.

All of them looked similar to his Host, so Shao Fan assumed they were his Host's family. When he saw that his Host was actually dead, he began freaking out, but when she suddenly began living again, he already knew what happened.

"Damn! A real life transmigration happened! No wonder I was sent here when my Host was dead, she was in the process of being transmigrated! Freaking awesome! Why does her family not look like they care that she is alive again, though? Some weird ass family problems, huh. Good luck, my Host! Hehe."

Shao Fan shut up when his Host opened her eyes, and the reason for that was the chill his ghostly body felt when she opened them. They looked like an ocean, deep and cold. He felt a slight chill against his body, causing him to shiver slightly.

The girl on the bed seemed confused for a while, which 'worried' her family of four inside the room. She shook her head shortly later and looked over to the 'family' of her and opened her mouth to speak.

"Father, mother, brother, sister."

"It's good that you are awake. Make sure that you don't do something stupid again, causing you to be sent to the hospital again. It is a pain to deal with. Since you are fine, we will be leaving now."

The one who was supposed to be her 'father' made a displeased face and complained slightly before turning around to leave the room. Her mother and siblings kept quite and followed her father out of the ward room, leaving her alone on the bed.

"Damn! What a shitty family my Host has! Well, I should probably go say hi to her now, right?"

Shao Fan felt annoyed at his Host's family members, but he figured it would be fine to appear now that his Host was alone. He grabbed the keyboard and began typing a few words before he hit enter, which caused a screen to appear in front of his Host.

[Greeting, Host. I am System #812. I have been bounded to you, meaning you can use me how you like!]

His Host, Yun Luo stared at the screen he wrote for a while in confusion before suddenly closing her eyes. Although confused, Shao Fan silently waited for his Host and she opened her eyes a little while later and opened her mouth to speak.

"Were you the reason why I crossed over to this world and into this body?"

Shao Fan was confused, but he realized why she asked this. After all, she was suddenly sent to another world into a different body, and then had a talking screen in her head. Naturally she would figure it was because of him.

[I am not! I was only bound to Host when Host transmigrated over. As for why Host was sent to this world, I have no clue.]

"You don't know why... What can you do? I don't need useless things."

Feeling weird for being called useless, Shao Fan quickly brought up the memories about his System uses in his mind before he began typing on the keyboard again.

[I am not useless! I have a shop that Host can purchase anything from with points. I also have a mission function, which allows Host to complete missions to earn points and other things. I also come with a built in storage! Host can store anything she wants inside of it, as long it is not a living thing.]

His Host was quiet again for a while, and just as Shao Fan began to get agitated at the silence, Yun Luo opened her mouth to speak finally.

"That is good then. You said your name was #812? Can I change that? It sounds like shit."

Shao Fan wanted to retort, but he kept his mouth shut since he also agreed that his name sounded like shit. He thought briefly and remembered that she can name him if she wishes to, so he agreed.

[Host can give me any name she wants to!]

"Then, you name will be Yun Lin from now on."

Shao Fan, no, Yun Lin felt the name was slightly weird, but it was many times better than being called #812. He shrugged and didn't mind what his name was as long as it was a proper name, which it is.

"Do I get anything like a gift or something?"

Yun Lin stared blankly for a while before looking at the words beside the screen. He read over them all and eventually found a button, which had the words 'Host Starter Package.' beside it. His mouth twitched slightly and he wrote on the keyboard.

[Host does indeed have a Starter Pack. Please wait a moment.]

He saw his Host nod her head silently and moved over to the blue button on the wall. He stared at the button that was above his height and jumped up and somehow ended up floating. Thanking his newfound ability, he floated up to the button and pressed it with is finger, causing screens to appear in front of his Host.

[Your Starter Pack has been activated. You obtained the following: 100 points, 1 dagger, 3 pairs of regular clothing, $5000 and a healing pill. Everything has been stored within your storage.]

Yun Lin felt annoyed that a screen he didn't write appeared, but he simply sat down in front of the screen again and resumed staring at his Host. A dagger suddenly appeared in her hand and she played with it expertly, causing him to stare in slight awe.

She nodded her head, seemingly pleased with the dagger. A small glass bottle with a single white pill inside it appeared in her hand, replacing the dagger. Yun Luo opened the bottle and poured the pill out and onto her soft palm, staring at it for a moment before throwing it into her mouth and swallowing it.

Nothing happened when she swallowed it, so Yun Lin was confused. He felt his Host got scammed, but her injuries suddenly began healing at a rapid pace, and after a few minutes, her skin had no injuries or scars on it.

"Not bad."

Seemingly pleased, his Host said those two words aloud. As for Yun Lin, he was staring in shock at th effects of the healing pill his Host just swallowed. He was assuming that his Host would be sitting in the hospital for a few months with those injuries, but she is perfectly fine to leave now if she wants to.

"Time to sleep"

Yun Lin blankly stared at his Host that suddenly closed her eyes and began sleeping. He stared at her for a while before he felt bored and decided to go and lay down on the bed in his little room, waiting for his Host to wake up.
