Shiva is one of the eldest gods of the Hindu pantheon. His role is the destroyer in the trimurti- the holy trinity of Hinduism. He is a recluse and ascetic. He generally would not interfere in the daily matters of pantheon unless it is an emergency like other members of Trimurti. But the incident of Sati's death and the subsequent massacre made him an enemy of Indra and most of the deva faction. He is the de facto leader of the asura faction since Indra is the leader of deva faction. He is most impartial of the Trimurti. His relationship with Brahma is neutral but his relationship with Vishnu soured after he defeated him during the massacre. He later became the strongest god and one of the top 5 beings of the world when he became the conceptualization of Annihilation. He wanders graveyards and uses the nether energy from the death. He wants to break into Apocalypse class by comprehending the concept of Nether.

Parvati is believed to the reincarnation of Sati who is said to the personification of Shakti. She is the youngest daughter of King Parvat / Himavat and Minavati ( Meru). She resolves herself to marry Shiva after learning his story and legends. Her parents discourage her but she actively purses what she wants and even becomes a hermit herself as Shiva became after death of Sati. Her life was remarkably similar to Sati that she was said to be her reincarnation. Indra learnt of this and to appease Shiva and fulfill the prophecy of kartikeya's birth, sends Kama- God of desire and erotic love to influence him. Shiva burns him with his third eye. Parvati does not lose hope and begins to live her life away from luxuries as a princess. Shiva learns of this and he meets her in disguised form, tries to discourage her, telling her Shiva's weaknesses and personality problems. Parvati refuses to listen and insists on her resolve. Shiva finally accepts her and they get married. She made Ganesha from bathing clay and gave it life. Kartikeya was her second child with Shiva.
