Camp Half-blood where only half survive.

I scanned my surroundings only to find silence. Most of the campers are still in a daze not believing what just happened. Some of them kept looking at me and the scrap metal which used to be a deadly monster, trying to wrap around the fact. Some looked at me with admiration and astonishment. In a far distance, I even found a few girls blushing and stealing a few glances at my a.... wait was I bare-chested the whole time? I forgot that I am not in Kailash. Luckily, I learned some magic in the last few years to make my life easier. So I quickly changed into a more presentable outfit. It had a white t-shirt with a black jacket and blue torn jeans. I gave them a goofy grin and mouthed an apology. Some girls who wore way too much makeup curled their lips in displeasure. They must be Aphrodite's kids. It's not that I am embarrassed to show my body, but showing up bare-chested is not a good way to establish communication.

" Hello, You can call me Kalki. Is this Camp Half-blood?" I asked the closest person to me. She is that girl with the mean look that organized the phalanx. My question brought her out of her daze and she answered, " Yes, This is Camp Half-blood. I am Clarisse, daughter of Ares. Who are you? " she asked getting on guard.

"Me? Oh, I am from India and came searching for my mother. I was told she is a greek goddess. " I said extending my hand for a handshake." Pleased to meet you miss Clarisse." That was a wrong greeting as she scowled and turned back going to talk to some campers at the back.

"Wow, that was rude. You could've at least not left me hanging." I said masking my displeasure and taking my hand back. I heard the sound of a horse's hooves from my back and turned around to find the legendary Chiron. He is a centaur. From the waist up, he looked like a middle-aged man with curly brown hair and a scraggly beard. But from the waist down, he is a white stallion.

" What is going on here?" he asked as he approached the scene. Some camper who was close to him answered him in a low voice. He then turned to me with an inquisitive look.

" Hello, Mr.Chiron, I am Kalki from the Indian side. I came here in search of my mother." I gave him a brief introduction hinting that I am from a different Pantheon. He was first confused and later understood and said," Welcome to Camp Half-blood, Mr. Kalki. If you could please follow me to the Big house, Your's is a special case, we need to discuss your issue with Camp Director Mr.D and the new activities director."

I shrugged and followed him to a two-storied house with a blue gabled roof and a wrap-around porch.

Percy's POV:

After the guy named Kalki went with Chiron, the campers got to their usual business. It may have been unbelievable but it is a usual day for the campers. But his introduction caused murmured discussions among the campers. Even I was a bit confused. God in training? I quickly asked Annabeth if she understood the situation but received no reply. She was thinking so I left her to her own devices and continued into the camp.

"Ow, I am sorry. Came to help. Disobeyed you," said Tyson with his head down like he was embarrassed.

"It's okay, I let you enter the camp. I thought you can help with the bulls but they were handled by the new guy."

"'Let' him enter?" I asked in confusion

"Uhh, you are impossible seaweed brain. Do you think a mortal could kill four Laistrygonian Giants? Have you ever looked at him closely? I mean in the face? Ignore the Mist, and 'really' look at him.

Wha.? The mist would mask the supernatural world. It could fool demigods too but I never looked at Tyson closely. Maybe because of the mist?

I looked Tyson in the face. I forced myself to look at his nose and not get distracted by the mist. And then I looked a little higher into his eyes.

No, not eyes. One eye. A large calf-brown eye, right in the middle, with thick eyelashes and tears down either side of his cheeks.

"Tyson!" I stammered"You are a..."

"Yes, Percy, Tyson is a cyclops. A baby by the looks of it as it wasn't strong enough to ignore the boundary like the bulls. They are offsprings of gods and nature spirits or nymphs. Often one god in particular. No one wants them. They get tossed aside. So they grow up on the streets. I don't know how this one found you. But it saved you so let Chiron decide what to do with him" Annabeth said distastefully. What is up with her today? Every time she refers to Tyson as if he is her mortal enemy.

I wanted to call her on that when I was interrupted by Clarisse." Jackson, come on, we need to get the wounded to the big house, let Tantalus know what happened."

"Tantalus?" I asked. I have never heard of that name in the camp before. And where is Argus? He is supposed to be the security guard.

"The new activities director. Chiron and Argus were fired."

"Huh? Chiron has been training heroes for the last three thousand years. He can't just be fired. And I just saw him taking that new guy to the big house. What happened?" I asked. Looking around, the camp feels completely different. Counselors and satyrs are stockpiling weapons instead of playing volleyball. Dryads armed with bows and arrows were talking nervously at the edge of the forest. The camp used to feel like home, now it feels like a boot camp. And even the forests turned a sickly yellow.

"That happened" Clarisse replied pointing to Thalia's tree.

I looked over to find a huge pile of dead leaves at the base of the tree. I looked up to find a bullet-sized hole, three feet above the ground, oozing out green sap. I shiver ran through my spine when I realized 'Someone poisoned the tree.'

I may be dumb, but even I know things had worsened. Now it's Camp Half-blood, where only a half may survive.
