7 Camp Half Blood- Beef with bulls

Nandhi POV:

I heard Kalki's scream and laughed it off. He will be fine. I wanted to land but I do not want to scare the kids in the camp or meet with that god that oversees it. And more importantly, I need to tell his mother about his arrival. I changed directions to head to Wyoming. I heard there is a PO box for her and her followers in there. Maybe I can request to meet her there. I hope the hunters will not try to kill me when I meet them. I do not want to go through my calf phase again.

Camp Half-Blood Clarisse's POV:

Today is not a good day. When you are a demigoddess of greek and more importantly the daughter of Ares, most of the days would not be good but today tops them all. I wake up as usual to the shitty rock metal in my cabin. I mean come on, put on something good like Metallica or iron maiden. I shouted at them to shut up and made my way out. I was on my way to meet Silena when I heard the ground shake. I along with many other campers made my way to the place where I heard the sound. There I saw two large bronze bulls ramming into the barrier. It used to be a regular occurrence. Some monsters would try to force their way into the camp but the barrier would hold thanks to Thalia's tree. Thalia's sacrifice made our camp much safer. But now that someone poisoned the tree, the barrier has been weakening since then. The Apollo cabin and Chiron tried to find the antidote but to no avail. They could only delay the inevitable until they could find a replacement to power the barrier. Mr.D blamed Chiron and fired him. He brought a replacement, Tantalus, who is deranged. He even scares the new kids in the camp with his disheveled appearance and psychotic laughter. The continuous ramming of the bulls brought me out of my misgivings about the camp. We can see that a few cracks are forming near the impact. I hope the bulls get bored and go away but something tells me that it is an impossible wish.

MC's POV:

I checked around if I could find any humans that could give me directions. I found no one. The sun seems to have just risen so I decided to search around. I searched around the forest for any human activity. I found a stream and decided to follow it upstream. though it's small it could lead to a lake where human settlements or animals would generally camp around. I am not afraid of wild animals but this is the territory of the Greek Pantheon so I need to be careful of possible monsters.

The weather is warm and humid. It feels so much better than the harsh climate of the Himalayas. It reminds me of the time when I stayed in Dandakaranya, along the banks of River Godavari when I was a kid. I walked deep into the forest following the stream while checking for any activity like footprints, discarded camping equipment, etc. unfortunately the stream ended in an underground cave. Damn! how could the stream I chose have an underground source? With nothing to do, I decided to roam around the forest. Maybe I was distracted before but now I felt a familiar feeling from the forest. It's just like the time when I spent time at my adoptive parent's hunting cabin. I feel the nature submitting to my will. So I asked it to show me a way to reach my destination. I followed the weird feeling until I came upon a road leading to some farms. I thanked the nature and followed the road. As I went on I could make out a hill and the name Delphi Strawberry Service. I figured it would be a good start, so I started running to the farm.

Campers' POV:

The bulls started ramming into the barrier rhythmically. To the horror of the campers, the barrier broke. Panic and fear set in them as older campers rushed to find their weapons and the younger ones screamed about, creating chaos. Clarisse shouted for the Ares cabin to form upon her. The experienced campers brought their weapons and some led the younger campers to their cabins leading to some order. The Ares cabin with Clarisse leading it made its way to the bulls in a phalanx formation. The barrier could not hold any longer and the bulls charged into the camp. Luckily the campers had the terrain advantage against the bull's charge. But the luck ran out when the campers realized what the bulls are. The Colchis bulls. The bulls are made of bronze and breathe fire. The phalanx broke upon the impact of the bull's charge. The spears were ineffective against the bull's bronze hide, The bull opened its mouth and breathed out white-hot flames that melted the shields right off their arms. The camp once again fell into disarray, One of the bulls headed for the archers whose arrows could do nothing but enrage the bull further.

Clarisse looked around and saw the campers running around with some of their helmets burning. She shouted at the patrol to once again form a phalanx. When she turned around in the direction of the camp entrance, she saw a teenager walking in. He looked completely out of place with his bare chest and some kind of dhoti pants. He started running up the hill. She could now see him. He looked around 15-16 years old with long black hair flowing back as he ran. He was bare-chested with only golden vambraces, armlets, and a belt of some kind.

Kalki was initially confused because as he grew closer to the farm, he felt something blocking his vision. He concentrated hard and found the farm being replaced by a greek style entrance. Beyond that, he could see a battle going on. He saw two bulls charging at a mix of teenagers wearing armor and helmets with feathers on them. They seem to be struggling with it. Now Kalki was excited, he ran to the bull farthest from him that is chasing a bunch of archers. Archers would be helpless against enemies at close range. But then he saw the first bull breaking the shield formation the greeks put up. Deciding on a plan, Kalki took out his bow and aimed toward the bull chasing the archer. He decided to taunt the bulls to him.

"Stop!!" he shouted imbuing his divinity into his voice. The campers stopped for a second after hearing the voice and involuntarily turned to the source of the voice. Even the bulls stopped. He released the arrow imbuing holy water to the tip. The arrow hit the bull farthest from him and penetrated the thick metal hide of the bull. He threw the bow and created swords out of holy water wasting no time running to the nearest bull.

The bull sensing him, opened its mouth to blow out its dreaded flames. Hot flames swirled out from its mouth and engulfed his figure. Many campers thought that was the end of him but to their surprise they found a water wall blocking the flames with the figure unharmed. Some campers even gasped in surprise.

"I don't know who you are. But today is your bad day because I have a really bad beef with the bulls" he shouted.

The bull as if insulted by that comment charged at him in a mad dash. As they approached each other, the figure in an incredible show of agility, dodged the bull at the last second and got hold of its horn. Using the momentum, he turned around with the horn as a pivot. With his free hand, he formed a dagger made out of holy water and plunged it into the bull's neck. The bull wailed and threw him off. He corrected his stance mid-air and landed on his feet.

The bull is severely injured as some sort of molten metal began to bleed out of its neck. It tried to breathe flames but to no avail. It did not have much time to think as Kalki then formed a spear and thrust it into the open mouth of the bull. The spear skewered the bull, damaging its internals. The bull exploded as a last stand against its enemy.

As he was covering from the explosion, temporarily blindsided, he heard a shout, "Hey! Watch out" He immediately became on guard but it was too late. The bull he shot earlier crashed into his back sending him flying in a long arc. He twisted his body mid-air, landing on his feet. But the momentum caused him to skid along creating a long gash on the grassy hill. Kalki is enraged. How could he lose his guard when in battle? That was so amateurish. During his training, he only had his dad as his opponent so he was not used to sudden attacks from other enemies. I now understand why dad wanted me to get involved in real battles.

The bull lowered his head leaning back on its haunches ready to charge. It snorted steam from its snout as if mocking him. This angered Kalki. " Now you pissed me off you stupid monster." He brought his hand forward drawing a large amount of water from his surroundings to form a stream aimed at the bull. As the bull charged forward, the water surrounded it entrapping it in a large sphere. Kalki then closed his fist, causing the sphere to contract slowly, increasing the pressure on the bull. The bull mooed in pain as the water mercilessly crushed it. After an agonizing two minutes, the bull stopped moving altogether signifying its end

Kalki then looked at the shocked campers and grinned. That was a good fight. I have learned a lot from it.
