Ban feels strange it appears he has yet to fully assimilate to this form, his new memoirs, a whirlwind of knowledge thought and emotion. He is walking with Geralt to the nearest outpost as they apparently have news of Yennefer (not his main target but her magic will be an invaluable asset as long as he can take it. He will have to wait for the perfect time to strike when Yennefer, Geralt and Ciri are at their weakest.)

"Where are we headed" Ban asks Geralt states blandly "to the nearest inn to ask around" Ban nods in response and follows along behind Geralt. "What do you need from Yen, Ban" Geralt inquires. Ban states curtly "I remember nothing but her name I do not know why, but I intend to learn the reason" Ban lies, his experience making his lie undetectable even through Geralt's enhanced senses.

Geralt rode over Woesong bridge. They both arrived at the inn Vesemir was sat down tending to his wounds at a table in the corner Geralt asked around for if anyone had seen a woman dressed in black smelling like lilac and gooseberries. He eventually met a merchant of mirrors known as the man of glass he had heard Dandelions tales.

The man of glass said to check out the nearby garrison. Geralt told Ban and of what he had heard and they both headed towards the garrison.

A large brick arch appeared in the distance as they closed further in they saw soldiers running practice drills. Aged wooden stairs led up to a heavily damaged brick fort. Two soldiers blocked them one said "Military camp. No locals allowed without express consent of the garrison commander"

Geralt says "do I look local to you?"

The soldier responds "you look like trouble" Geralt curtly counters "I'm a witcher I make trouble go away"

"A witcher ay" "Captain Peter Saar Gwynleve is in the tower. Turn right, past the gate" they let Geralt walk past. Ban goes to follow they stop him the leftmost soldier moves his sword to block Bans approach. "One is enough to hear from the captain" the soldier says. Geralt looks back to check Ban won't start a fight. He seems unperturbed by this situation he waves at Geralt and sits down to wait.

Geralt returns and says "we are hunting a griffin, Ban" Ban queries "what do we need?" Geralt responds "we need to visit the herbalist Tomira for buckthorn and the hunter Mislav for more information" Ban questions again "what's buckthorn do?" Geralt responds "it smells like a corpse good for luring in a Griffin" as Geralt says this Ban proceeds to rip out his liver and says "problem solved" The soldiers are shocked to see Bans wound rapidly close back up. The soldiers wait till Ban and Geralt leave before telling their Captain what they saw….

They headed into the forest Geralt locating Mislav they approached him as he was hunting a deer the majestic beast stood tall and proud it's powerful legs yet to move Mislav ready his bow placed an arrow upon its string and pulled back the deer alerted by this motion looked around unable to spot us, hidden in the underbrush Mislav loosed his arrow into the deers neck. He then spoke with Geralt telling him the location of the Griffins nest.

Ban and Geralt headed to the nest Geralt showed Ban how he determined its Gender, how it had lost its female mate, how the soldiers had tried to do the job themselves killing the female and Ban absorbed as much of this knowledge as possible.

Eventually the Witcher and Ban headed to a forest clearing placing a fake sheep filled with random organs Ban had ripped out. After waiting for thirty three minutes the Griffin arrived grabbing its hunt with its claws and attempting to lift into the air. However Ban jumped at it grabbing onto its neck, he pulled out a dagger he had on his waist and begin trying to slit the beasts throat finding it much harder then expected. Because of the Griffins tough, meat sinewy flesh and feathered coat the beast bucked him off however Ban managed to stab a hold into its side, once becoming secure he decided to damage the beasts wings so Geralt could join in the battle. After a while of working on the wing it was wounded enough to have to land. Once on the earth Geralt skilfully ended its life returning it to the earth, it was now time to report back to the garrison. However Geralt decided to first buy a ranged weapon from a nearby dwarven blacksmith. A small hand crossbow.
