It's a Demon

The police chief got out of police car and walked towards a table with an old man sitting down.

"You're early, early is nice, I expected you to be suspicious."

"I am, but if up you know something that can help us solve this case, then please tell me!" He said while sitting down.

"What's your name young man?" The old man asked while taking a bite out of a cake that sat in front of him.

"Charles Veres, and I've heard of you Mr. Giovan Aldrich, now what do you know on the cause of deaths of the seventeen people?"

"Simple, it's a demon." Giovan said while taking another bite of cake.

"A demon, what? We're done here, you're clearly here to waste my time, and in case you didn't know, it's precious as we can be preventing more deaths!"

"Preventing more deaths how? You can't even identify why they're dying, much less stop what's causing it..." Giovan looked over and stared into Charles eyes.

"Enough of this, I'm very sorry but you haven't been very helpful, however we can continue this talk on a different day, I have to go!" Charles stood up, grabbed his coat and walked off.

"You don't know why they're dying, and nothing indicates poison or anything physical. They all have smiles on their faces as if they were the happiest in the world." Giovan shouted after him causing him to freeze.

Turning around, he marched over to Giovan and held him against the wall besides the table.

"Who gave you that information, it's classified!" Calming himself he released him and looked at a child, no more than seven years old run up to them.

"Leave grandpa alone! Stop being mean to my grandpa!" She tugged at Charles sleeve while tears formed in her eyes.

"You have a child? Do you know what the families of the victims do when we can't even give them a suspect? They lose hope! And justice will triumph over it in the end.

Giovan snorted and picked up the child and carried her as he walked away.

"I hope you can say that when everything starts going sideways."

"Grandpa, who was that bad man?" The little girl looked up and asked.

"He's not a bad man, he's just scared, and he should be, this world is undergoing a massive change soon, now come along Azrael."

"Okay grandpa!" Giovan looked up at the sky and sighed before disappearing down the sidewalk.
