4 Charging Up! Part 2

"Eve!" Aiu yelled out. She was afraid Eve would end up breaking into pieces if she fell from this height!

Eve was tumbling down, smashing off of things, she instinctively wanted to yell out in pain, but when she hit things, she felt nothing of the sort, so she refrained from doing so in order to not embarrass herself because she was sure that Aiu would not hold back and point out her silliness. But that still did not mean she liked falling. "Ahh! My leg!" Eve saw what was left of her left leg break off as she landed right side up on a hard metal surface before continuing her fall, causing her to yell out. If she had tears, she would cry because now she had to fully replace both her legs!

[Durability%]: 5 → 4/100

But as she continued falling, she saw a message pop up in front of her telling her that her durability had dropped. "Oh come on! It was just a leg! Fine! I will just curl up into a ball and bounce down!" And so she did. She curled up the rest of her body into a tightly packed ball and continued to bounce her way down the cliff of broken robots. Until finally, she landed at the bottom with a bang and rolled a little ways, before coming to a full stop.

"Aiu damage report." Eve unfurled her body and moved her arms and head a bit. She sighed in relief when she saw they were working as before.

"Just some minor dents in the frame on your back. I suggest in the near future you enable full rotation of your arms in order to tend to your back." Aiu replied.

"Yeah, I will need to do that. For now, let's just head to the power source. It is at the top of this hill. Going up should be much easier than going down." Eve replied as she began crawling once more.

After a good five minutes, she finally reached the robot cliff face that was more at more of a slant than the one she just climbed down. Eve was much more careful this time around, though. She double-checked every hold she found before actually pulling herself up. She wanted to make sure no matter what, she would not fall. After almost another twenty minutes of climbing, she had finally pulled herself up to the top, and her goal was right there in front of her. It was a humanoid robot that did not look like it was made for industrial or home use at all…

"Aiu, what do you think of this guy here? Military of some kind?" Eve asked as she looked at the robot.

"It does seem that way. It looks heavily armored, that is for sure." Aiu replied.

"That it does… These legs also look really strong too..." Eve was eyeing the legs on the robot. They were in good condition and looked like they might fit her as well.

"It would be easier for you to move around if you could walk but will you be able to attach them in your current state?" Aiu asked.

"This I am not sure of. Is there a way to superimpose this guy's hips and legs onto my current body frame? It seems to be the same size, but if it's not, it would be a problem." Eve would rather replace the legs alone, but she could not tell if the socket size of the upper legs was the same as her body.

"One second." Aiu booted up the Astral Desk program and brought up the diagnostics again. There she was able to use Eve's eye to scan the legs, then create a 3D model of it inside the program and line it up in real-world units to her frame. "The hips are a bit too large, but the legs are the correct length, and the socket size is the same from what I can tell."

"Then let's see what we can do after I charge up my battery." Eve did not forget her main task. Before she started repairing herself, she decided it would be best to charge herself up as much as possible. She quickly found the power source in the chest and plugged herself in. When she saw a battery charging icon appear, Eve relaxed and looked up at the sky.

[Battery%]: 10 → 11/100 [Charging…]

A breeze blew by, but Eve did not feel it. She had no sensors that allowed her to feel anything. But she could still hear the wind as it whistled through the hollows of the broken robots around her. Besides that, she could hear the faint sounds of gunfire and explosions, which made her wonder what was happening off in the distance.

[Battery%]: 11 → 70/100

Two hours passed, and Eve saw her battery was charged to seventy percent. She also noticed the red glow from the battery back was completely gone from the robot she was connected to. "Alright, I got enough battery to do something. Let's try to get these legs removed and on to me. But first, let's get the connection between the upper body and my hips functioning again."

She had originally planned to fix her left arm first, but since most of the robots were nowhere close to having the parts she needed to do it, and she had stumbled upon some decent legs to allow her to move easier, she decided to do her legs first. But in order to do this, she would need to do some patchwork fixes on her body in order to move around until she could get the right tools to do permanent fixes. But this meant pulling her eye out to get a better look at things. She looked at the screen in front of her and clicked on her working eye to see a better diagram of it. "About three feet of wire rolled up inside. Were these people that lazy when they built this thing? Or was this done by design?"

Scratching what she had left of her head Eve reached up and plucked her eye out!
