6 The Hokage

"So Iruka what is your opinion regarding the would be graduates of this year ? You have given me a written official report but I want to know your personal opinion especially on the most hopeful genins." The third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi asked the academy instructor Iruka Umino.

"Out of twenty four students in my class, I think about twenty one will be able to pass or maybe twenty. Naruto has grown a lot during past two years. But still, he cannot perform a normal clone Jutsu. I cannot understand his problem. Sure he has not the best Chakra control in the class. But the amount of Chakra control he has is enough to perform clone jutsu. But for some reason he just cannot perform that particular jutsu. I don't understand what is happening with him Hokage sama." Iruka told the Hokage.

"Hmmm... I see, you don't have to worry about it, Iruka sensei. If by the time of graduation he still couldn't master the jutsu, I will visit him. Maybe I can figure out what is happening with him ?" Hiruzen knew the problem of Naruto very well. Last time he checked, the twelve years old had more Chakra than most of the elite Jonin in the village. No it would be better to say that Naruto has enough Chakra to arrival his own. That means he needed much more advanced Chakra control exercises to perform the jutsu. And even then he might not be able to perform that particular jutsu in his entire lifetime. The same kind of problem he had seen in Mito and Kushina Uzumaki. The density of their Chakra is too much that they cannot perform illusion type clone jutsu no matter how hard they try. Hiruzen had thought of taking this chance to introduce Naruto with shadow clone jutsu and win him over completely. And when he become a Genin, he will discuss about the information of his Jinjuriki status to him. He just hoped that everything goes as he has planned.

But Naruto was not the only reason he had called Iruka personally. There are several other students in the academy that caught his eyes.

Most of them were clan heirs and heiresses.

The tree of Ino-shika-cho of the third generation was impressive like their parents were. Although Chozi Akimichi is not impressive as Choza was in his age, but he believed that he will come along when he get into a genin team.

Then there is another reason for his headache. Hinata Hyuga, the Hyuga heiress. The yandere is more dangerous than the nine tailed demon fox itself. So far she has sent thirteen shinobi eight civilians to hospital for bad mouthing Naruto in front of her. That doesn't even include the two elders of Hyuga clan. He didn't know what to do ? Weather laugh at the misery of the Hyuga clan, or cry over his increase of paper works due to the Hyuga heiress. She is more talented than Hiashi and Hizashi at her age. According to the report of Inoichi, Itachi had told him to kill his best friend to awaken mangekyo Sharingan and then face him. The boy developed such a hatred for his brother that he refused to make any friends in the first place.

And finally the last reason of his concern. Sakura Haruno, the daughter of the merchant representative in the council.

"Tell me Iruka, how is Sakura doing ?" Hiruzen asked.

"She is doing as usual. Nothing much different than before. Her Chakra control is above mine. I would say, at least at Jonin level. But considering the amount of Chakra she has it is not that surprising. I have added the report from her supervisor in the hospital. She was very good in the Chakra control from the beginning and after two years, she is at least skilled as a Chunin in medical ninjutsu. Her theoretical score in academy is at the top. She is still not the most powerful or physically fit among kunoichis in this generation but, she has enough tactical thinking capability to handle the situation. And she has enough mastery over fuinjutsu to create basic sealing formation, paralysis formation and storage seals. I think that she should be able to acquire the position of kunoichi of the year." Iruka told Hiruzen.

"Good... I think that I got everything I needed. Thank you Iruka kun. You are dismissed."

Sakura Haruno, was a genius in Chakra control. From his experience with Tsunade, Hiruzen knew that her control is way better than Tsunade at her age. After hearing her achievements in medical ninjutsu, Hiruzen had personally paid a visit to the hospital to see her work. And he was astonished with her proficiency. Although for a moment he thought that she was suppressing her Chakra, he didn't find anything suspicious so he dismissed the idea.

But that was the main reason for his headache. He has disbanded the root. So officially Danzo cannot recruit any student from academy. But Hiruzen was worried that, he I would try to recruit her once she reached the rank of a Chunin or even before that. He didn't want such a talent to fall in the hands of someone like Danzo. So his best option was to give her to someone whom, Danzo cannot touch, at least not directly. And there are only two people currently present in the village that he can count on. Maito Guy and Kakashi Hatake. Guy has already his batch of students. So Kakashi was the only option left. If everything goes well then the village might get another Tsunade in next few years. With the report from iruka Hiruzen finally decided the major teams that will form after the graduation exam.

The Ino-shika-cho under his son Asuma.

Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka and Shino Aburame under Yuhi Kurenai.

Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno under Kakashi Hatake.

Although he still thinks that he will be wasting the potential of the second team to Kurenai. But he has already promised his son. Originally he has planned to put the Hyuga heiress under Uzuki Yugao. From the very start he has planned to separate Naruto and Hinata has it will destroy the team dynamics and he was okay with the team. But he still thinks that they can get a better teacher.

With that matter aside Hiruzen finally decided to return to his usual work.
