Chapter 21 : Ninjutsu

"Sensei, why are we out here in the training ground." - Random student.

"That's because today I am going to teach you all Ninjutsu." - Teacher.

"Did you hear that. We are finally going to learn a jutsu. With this I am going to become a powerful ninja and protect Konoha." - Random student.

"Me too." - Random student.

Everyone was excited. Up until now the academy only taught them about various subjects like village system, history, science, Chakra theory, hand seals, and so on.

"OK, calm down. Now watch closely and memorize the hand seals I perform. The order should be correct. This is the Clone Jutsu." - Teacher.

The teacher slowly performed the hand seals so that everyone could learn them. Once the seals were completed, a cloud of smoke appeared next to him which quickly disappeared but there was a clone of the teacher present wearing his exact clothes.

"Wow..." - Students.

Next, the teacher performed the Transformation Jutsu. The teacher transformed into the third Hokage.

"It's the Hokage.." - Students.

Everyone was excited to learn these 2 Jutus. The teacher gave everyone a scroll containing the steps and information to cast them.

Kakashi looked at the contents. He was the first to understand the method. He quickly performed the required hand seals and in a cloud of smoke, a Kakashi clone appeared. Everyone turned their heads to look. But it was not over, Kakashi cancelled the Jutsu, making the clone disappear he once again performed hand seals which made him transform into the teacher. The transformation is almost identical to the teacher.

"Wow, did you see that. Kakashi did both Jutsus on his first try. He is a real genius." - Random student.

"Is this the result of talent?" - Random student.

Almost all the female students were falling in love. Some of the boys showed admiration and respect, others were jealous.

"Watch this Kakashi." - Obito.

Obito began performing hand seals for Clone Jutsu. Everyone saw a cartoonish-looking clone. It looked like it was drawn by a child. The clone seemed to be unstable as it disappeared on its own.

This caused a series of laughter.

"Rin... even you..." - Obito was Heartbroken.

"Pfft... Haha... I am sorry Obito... But it looked so funny." - Rin.

Obito felt his soul had left his body.

Next to suffer laughter and ridicule was Might Guy. Whether it was the transformation or the clone, it was worse than everyone else. But who was Guy, he was only disappointed for a few seconds before determination filled his whole being again.

Soon many others also started practising. Some succeeded after a few attempts. Others took longer.

Watching all of this was Shirou. Looking at the contents of the scroll he had many questions.

'Does simply thinking clearly about the result and performing hand seals correctly produce a Jutsu? Let me try it.' - Shirou.

In previous classes, everyone had practiced making hand seals. So all are proficient in it.

Shirou performed the seals for Clone Jutsu. He felt a pull on his Chakra. In previous classes when he was practicing hand seals he felt a familiar sensation. But he did not dare to experiment with it. The teacher had warned that many had suffered injuries because they experimented with hand seals and Chakra without any knowledge. Right now Shirou decided to let his Chakra follow the sensation.

Shirou felt his Chakra leave through his hands. But there was something different about the Chakra.

'What just happened? The Chakra feels different mid-way. It likes it changed on its own.' - Shirou.

To Shirou Ninjutsu was too strange. When Shirou uses his spells like structural grasp or reinforcement, he has to concentrate on each and every step. Like moving and controlling the mana, focusing the mana for scanning or reinforcing. Everything was done manually. But for Ninjutsu the Chakra or magic energy seems to have a mind of its own.

A clone appeared in a small puff of smoke. It looked exactly like Shirou. Shirou understood how the clone was formed as he felt how the Chakra had gathered.

'The clone is a hollow shell made of Chakra that mimics my appearance. It's like an automated projection spell. Unlike projection, I don't need to actively move and shape the Chakra. I only need a clear mental image and the correct hand seals.' - Shirou.

'It's like some kind of invisible Chakra processor took the Chakra I released, made calculations based on inputs like hand seals and mental image, finally updated the Chakra, and put it back in place. It was done in an instant that if I didn't have my level of Chakra control I wouldn't have felt it. Is this the power system of this world? Indra Otsutsuki... how the heck did you discover these hand seals?' - Shirou.

While Shirou was lost in thought, others noticed Shirou's clone which looked exactly like Shirou.

"Hey. Look at that. The red hair also created an exact clone on his first try." - Random Student.

"That tomato head, looking all cool and mysterious. Who does he think he is." - Random Student.

"Idiot, keep quiet. What if he heard you." - Random Student.

Unlike Kakashi who was the son of White Fang, Shirou was an orphan. So there are a few students who wanted to trouble Shirou due to his excellence in theory classes and Chakra control skills. But they didn't since he was friends with Guy, Obito, and Kakashi. No one wanted to deal with Kakashi the son of White Fang, the over-enthusiastic Guy, or the jealous but kind-hearted Obito who is a member of the Uchiha clan. It wasn't just Shirou, many girls in the class wanted to trouble Rin as well since she was close to Kakashi but luckily due to similar reasons as Shirou, she was mostly unaffected.

There were some small incidents where Shirou was cornered by bullies in secluded areas. But Shirou who was bullied in his past life was not willing to become a punching bag again. So he fought back. Shirou took it as combat experience. He never showed fear or tried to escape or acted like it did not bother him. His past life taught him the best way to deal with bullies is to fight back without showing any weakness. Most of the time Shirou was beaten but he made sure the opponents also suffered. The bullies only consisted of civilian students as students belonging to clan members involved in such acts can cause damage to their clan's reputation if it's found out. Shirou did not tell anyone about these incidents as he wanted to deal with them himself.

These days Shirou was completely free from bullies as he learned self-reinforcement spell. The no-name bullies were terrified as they were completely beaten up by Shirou. Shirou might have vented most of his past life grudges on the poor fellows as well. From then on Shirou always felt peaceful as he recalled thrashing those no-names.

Shirou went on to correctly perform the Transformation Jutsu as well. Shirou didn't know it but other than jealousy he had also earned the admiration and affection of some of the female students. In Shirou's past life, he never had any experience with any girl. He was and is a total virgin.

"OK everyone, I have something important to announce." - Teacher.

Everyone was alert and curious.

"In one month, there will be a competition held here between all of you. I want all of you to practice seriously for it. There will be many bigshot ninjas coming to watch. If your performance impresses them you might get recruited and get personal training from them. So work hard." - Teacher.

'Kakashi will definitely get noticed. As for others, it depends on their efforts.' - Teacher.

"Did you hear all that. I am going to practice seriously so that I can be trained by the Hokage." - Random student.

"Stop dreaming. I don't think anyone other than Kakashi has a chance at getting training from the Hokage." - Random student.

"I wonder if I can be selected?" - Rin.

"You have to work hard." - Kakashi.

"Rin will definitely be selected and so will I." - Obito.

"It's time to show everyone exactly how hard I've worked." - Guy.

"I am also looking forward to this." - Shirou.
