Death

five years later

I now appear to be a man approaching my thirties and my good friend Alex has also gotten older looking. The village elder who taught me the language when I got here died four years ago. All the villagers mourned his death, however, I especially felt his death. As when I first arrived I learned the language in a week however he didn't know that and I kept "learning" the language and during that time I got rather close to the old man.

There is also another reason I felt his death more than the others, which was there would be many many of the same. I knew this would happen and I expected it to be painful, but I didn't know how much it would hurt. I will live forever while those around me and the people I get close to all die eventually.

I'm holding out the hope that I will gain the ability to make the people I get close to some form of immortality. Speaking of gaining abilities I maxed out telekinesis and now I could fly with it. I hadn't tested the limits of my flight but I was able to levitate myself off of the ground.

I had gained another ability as well and that was telep-wait a second. Thinking of my abilities I know I have with age and I know what it does, so since I am technically millions of years old where are my other abilities for the time I slept?

'System, with my ith age skill shouldn't I have more abilities?'

<Yes the host is correct>

'Then why don't I currently have them?'

<Due to the host's constant hibernation the system thought it unnecessary to mention to the host>

'Okay I get that but why didn't you tell me after I was done hibernating?'

<You didn't ask>

'Are you kidding me...'

<No>

...

...

...

'System even if you didn't tell me about them shouldn't they still be on my skills list?'

<No, the host has to be awake to accept abilities>

'Show me my abilities gained while I slept'

<Affirmative, the hosts awaited skills are Power Replication, Illusion Creation, Physic Shield, Anti-Cloning, and Anti-Power Suppression>

'System why is there not more?'

<The host gains power overtime at a slow rate>

I suppose that makes sense as it would be boring if I gained the ability to punch the universe to oblivion on day one.

I had previously gained telepathy, but the new skills are amazing. Power replication now that ability is interesting, I thought I was on earth in the past, I still think I am but power replication might mean there are other beings with powers as well.

Illusion Creation seems like a very fun skill and will play in well with my future pranks on humans. Back to my current predicament with death, I think it might be time I fake my death. I have made great friends here and it pains me to leave them however I don't think I can stay and watch my good friends die.

I'm not going to just stop making friends with people but I'll make fewer. So on that note, it's time to fake my death, and to do that I'll go on the next hunt.

Some days later

Our population of villagers has increased to a number of over thirty people. Now we have the means to hunt mammoths, and that's exactly what we're doing now. We get into a formation ready to take down the mammoth and as soon as we get the signal from our leader we attack. Many men are trampled to death but manage to stab the creature.

During the past few days, I leveled up my Illusion creation to two. I can't make many people see things and even fewer based on how detailed the thing I want them to see is. The attack continues and a man I recognize is about to be trampled by the mammoth, it was Alex. I jump forward and push him out of the way before I hear him scream my name.

As soon as he screams my name I am crushed, not really though, as I created the illusion to those currently watching that I was squished. I hear a wailing sound, and see Alex about to rush out and attempt to kill the creature but a man holds him back and knocks him out. It pains me to see my good friend like this, but I don't have the strength to see everyone in the village die of old age while I won't.

The mammoth is killed along with a total of four men, they spend the next few hours or so getting to pull the mammoth back to the village and gathering the dead left intact. It was very taxing holding my Illusion for so long and while doing so I heard a ding.

Ding!

<Illusion Creation is now level 3!>

That's good but as I continue to watch them they eventually are far enough away that I can remove my illusion. In case you're curious the reason they left my body behind is that my illusion was of me as one of the ones not left intact.

I don't know what I plan to do next but for now, I walk in the opposite direction from where the villagers went, and as I walk I shift my human self into the younger twenty-one version.
