167 Hidden arms

Footsteps could be heard approaching the basement and Leo climbed up the stairs.

He was met face to face with Valentina but couldn't help but laugh.

Valentina's hair was completely messed up, it looked like someone rubbed a balloon over her head and her hair popped up because of the static.

"What are you laughing at!" Asked Valentina in an annoyed tone.

"No offense but did a bomb go off in your hair?"

When Valentina realized what Leo meant she ran off toward the bathroom.

"Uh... Did I do something wrong?" asked Leo.

"No, you just pointed out her hair was in a mess. You won't see her for the next thirty minutes since she will be tidying herself up, just don't go to the bathroom for the next hour or you will be gassed in twenty different hair products."

"Oh trust me, I won't."

"If you're smart you will go make her a cup of coffee, she can be quite cranky in the morning." said Aria.

Leo obliged and walked back toward the kitchen before turning on the coffee maker.

The moment the coffee finished Valentina walked back into the room.

"Great, you made coffee. Give me a cup."

Leo poured Valentina a cup and himself a glass of water, he already had enough coffee for the day.

"Say, Valentina. Do you have any spare guns laying around the house?"

Valentina looked up toward Leo in confusion.

"A couple, yeah. But they aren't good since most of them are old models, I wouldn't recommend them for active use."

"It's fine, do you know where they are?"

"Yeah, they're in my room." said Valentina as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Great, I'll get them real quick." said Leo as he stood up and started walking toward Valentina's room.

It took a while for Valentina to register the words Leo said, but the moment they did she jumped up and dashed after him.

"Leo don't you dare!"

Leo already was at the door of Valentina's room and was about to open it when he was stopped.

"What is wrong?" asked Leo.

"What is wrong?! You don't just barge into a girl's room like that!" said Valentina.

"Why not? Do you got something to hide then?"

"W-what? Ofcourse I don't! You just don't enter my room without my permission, ever! Understood?"

Valentina avoided eye contact with Leo.

Leo sighed.

"Fine, can you get the weapons for me real quick? Some bullets aswell."

"Yeah, sure." said Valentina as she entered her room.

Rummaging was heard for a while by Leo before Valentina came back, holding three guns.

"Here, they're all loaded so be careful." said Valentina as she handed Leo the guns.

Leo nodded before going to the garage in order to get some duct tape.

When Leo had the tape he was finally ready.

He had one revolver, a USP and a P2000.

Leo first walked toward the table in the living room before crawling under it.

He picked up the P2000 and checked if it was loaded.

Leo confirmed that the gun was loaded and tore off a piece of duct tape before duct taping the gun to the bottom of the table.

Leo tore of three more pieces of duct tape and properly secured the gun.

The plan was that if an invading force appeared and managed to reach the living room and somehow Aria, Valentina, or Leo weren't armed they would be able to flip the table over for cover and reach for the gun, that way they at least would have something to protect themselves with.

Up next Leo walked toward the front entrance of the mansion.

There was a flowerpot there and Leo hid the USP behind it.

He couldn't help but laugh at his thoughts.

"Usually there would be a key behind a flowerpot or something but here it is a loaded handgun."

The idea this time was that if someone tried to force their way into the house from the front door they would easily be able to be shot by whoever opened the door.

Leo wasn't sure if the .45 ACP was capable of shooting through the door though.

And lastly, there was the final hiding place, the hallway to Valentina's room.
