166 Aria
Leo looked over to the stairs to see who called him out and saw a woman with short blonde bangs standing at the stairs.
He didn't like being called out as a noobie but he quite literally was.
He didn't want to be helped by her, but in the end, accepted since it would just speed everything up.
"Sure, if you can. I assume you are Aria, right?"
"Yep, and you are the noobie that Valentina told me about, the monster, right?"
"Technically, yeah. But I would prefer for you not to call me a monster, just call me Leo."
"Yeah, will do. Valentina told me a lot of interesting things about you."
Aria walked down the stairs and started helping Leo clean the basement by carrying planks up the stairs.
"What did she tell you?" asked Leo.
"She told me that you were responsible for the warhead detonation at site Phobos."
"Yeah, I was. I had to get revenge somehow and the warhead detonation seemed like a good way."
"Isn't that a bit overkill?"
Leo smashed an old chair before responding.
"Maybe, but they deserved it for the treatment they gave me there. Anyway, glad to be here now."
"Yeah, it was about time Valentina got a guard. I guess we will be working together from now on."
Leo smashed another chair and Aria carried the planks and stuff upstairs.
"So, Aria. Tell me some more about yourself." said Leo.
"Well, I am responsible for Valentina's paperwork and approving things for the delta command in her name, there is a lot of formal stuff and a lot of reading and statistics to look through, so I have to deal with all of that. If Valentina wants to delay something I have to mess around with the paperwork to delay it and such, generally it is just a lot of reading, approving, and writing though."
"Ah, so you are one of Valentina's silver brooches?"
"Oh, she told you about that already? Well yeah, I am although I am not wearing my brooch at the moment."
"Yeah, I was just curious. You do have a shitty job though, you're constantly signing and approving of stuff, that must be quite enduring."
'Yeah, it is. But you probably have it a lot worse though."
Leo sighed.
"Probably, yeah. She can be quite a handful. Also, why are you awake already?"
"In all honesty, you woke me up."
"Oh, my bad. Did I wake Valentina up aswell?" asked Leo.
Aria laughed.
"Sadly not, that woman can sleep like a log, I'm pretty sure that if you shot a gun in the house she wouldn't even wake up."
Leo laughed as he continued smashing furniture.
After another twenty minutes, they were finally done smashing all the furniture.
"So Leo, what are you planning to transform the basement in to?" asked Aria.
"Honestly not sure, probably gonna go for a minimalistic blacked-out look, I'm not that much into man caves."
"Sounds good, but you still have a lot of work to do."
"Yep, now that the furniture is out I can start moving boxes, once the boxes are out there will only be a couple things left for me to move away, once everything is out I can finally start cleaning the basement itself. Honestly I just don't want to sleep in this mess for another day." said Leo
"Yeah, I already felt kinda bad for you when I had to put that mattress down there, this place gives me the creeps to be honest."
Aria continued helping Leo clean the basement and they continued making small talk.
"Leo, I heard that you wanted to set up a contingency plan as well?"
"Yeah, Valentina allowed me to make a plan in case a raid would ever occur here, but I also plan on stashing and hiding multiple guns around the house in case there ever are any intruders."
"Right, ill leave that up to you since I don't have any experience with that."
After a couple of hours more of cleaning and moving boxes around, the basement was finally empty and clean.
"Honestly Aria, how can I thank you for helping me?" asked Leo.
"There is no need, it's alright. Just help me sometime with some of the paperwork and we will be cool. Besides, I think you have something else to worry about."
Leo was initially confused until he heard someone yelling.
"Who the absolute fuck is making all of that noise!"
