Samuel died, and in death realized the universal truth, he could do what he wanted if he had enough power. However a supreme existence intervenes and changes his fate, to prove him wrong.
Samuel walked down the street, hands in his pockets, looking at the people walking besides him with an ever present smirk on his face.
'Damn couples, go explode and die!' Being single for nearly half a year, and being unable to keep a girlfriend for an extended period of time made his friends joke about him with it.
'If only I could live another life, I'd be awesome and everyone would want me!' He brushed against an old man and went to steady him in case he fell.
'God knows that I don't have the money if he decides to sue me!'
"Are you okay, is there anything I can do?" He asked while placing the man on his feet and handing him the cane that slipped from his grasp.
"Young man, is there anything you aspire to be?" The old man asked while straightening his hat.
"Yea, if I could be anything, I'd be a God, then I'd do what I want, when I want, with no one to stop me."
The old man smiled, and boy was it an ugly smile.
'He's missing nearly all his teeth, and why are the remaining teeth pointy?'
The old man cackled and gripped Samuel's arm tightly.
"Old man, let me go..." The smirk disappeared from his face as he looked at the old man.
'Why is he so strong, I'm pulling away with nearly all my strength!' Samuel stopped struggling while inwardly concluding that the old man did martial arts.
"Your martial arts are quite something, but if you have no further need of me, then I'll just take my leave."
The surrounding pedestrians continued walking by, not noticing an anomaly causing Samuel to curse the unobservant people.
'Would it kill you to look up from your phone? A little help here?' However rather than ask it aloud, he kept it in his mind, because asking for help dealing with an old man would have embarrassed him.'
Then the world flipped on it's side and before he knew it, he felt a burning pain all over his body.
"Being strong? Is that absolute? Experience the life of a strong being then, and tell me if it was satisfying." The last thing he heard was the old man's voice ringing in his head, then his body, or what was left of it collapsed to the floor.
'Did he just toss me into a truck that was speeding down the road? That bastard, I only nearly made him fall!'
Then darkness consumed him.
As he was going under, he heard screams and snorted mentally.
'Oh so now you guys react, but you couldn't see shit when he was grabbing me?!' Then he lost consciousness.
[You died.]
A transparent screen met his gaze when his eyes opened along with a faint white light.
'Where am I, and why is there a game screen hovering in front of me?'
