41 Sacred Palace Trial Grounds (3)

As Rinley's group charged near the inner area of the trial grounds, they have no choice but to forego using the battleship.

The inner area was made up of many courtyards, each of which has traps of its own. These traps were more complicated than those on the outer area and the defense mechanisms of the battleship might be rendered ineffective.

There are also some high-level spiritual beasts they might not be able to confront so they will have no choice but to hide their presence and make detours in front of those beasts. And the extravagant battleship certainly cannot help in masking their presence.

The group got off in an area near the west and started traversing the area. Four of the nine monkeys were in front with the fifth monkey leading the way while the other five were guarding the back.

Rinley was placed comfortably in the middle. In her mind, Rinley found a faint signal as they got nearer to the west.

Suddenly, the four at the front stopped.

"What is it?" the eldest young master who was guarding the back with the second, fourth, sixth and ninth monkeys asked.

"There's a poisonous swamp," the fifth monkey answered with a solemn voice as he picked up a stone and threw it to the swamp.

Before the stone can even touch the black poisonous water in the swamp, a giant head appeared out of nowhere. It was a crocodile with the exact color of the poisonous water. Its eyes were a sinister shade of red while its teeth look sharp enough to gnaw their bodies.

All ten of them inhaled sharply.

That was a Corrosive Dark Crocodile, a high-level spiritual beast which dwells on highly poisonous environment. Not mentioning the teeth, its saliva is enough to corrode bones while its scales were almost indestructible due to cultivating in a highly corrosive environment.

Thankfully, the Corrosive Dark Crocodile never attacks as long as someone doesn't try to approach their territory, or else, it could have resulted in some causalities. The group turned around to make a detour.

"Four, how do we attack? The chief didn't say anything about them having two Half Immortals?"

Near the western area, five youths in black cloak got off from a large back bird.

"Don't worry, don't we still have Raven? Even if our strength is outmatched, we can use the trial grounds to our advantage," one of the youth patted the eagle's head as he answered. He murmured some instructions to the beast's ear. It flapped its wings and flew away to the northwest direction.

The youth then opened a detailed map and explained to the group, "In the northwest, there is a community of Apes. We can lure the Golden Ape King to their direction to give them trouble, then we will look for the sword."

"The sword might be on the eldest of them. . . Also, the chief gave us permission to kill them," the youth added with an evil grin.
