Prologue***

"W--Why?"

As his life force was slowly being drained, this was the only thing he wanted to ask.

"W--Why?" he whispered with much difficulty, his eyes focused on the beautiful figure in front of him.

This woman was someone he once thought would accompany him for the rest of his life.

He watched as the woman's face, which was once filled with innocence distorted into one filled with malice.

He suddenly felt that the woman has become someone unfamiliar to him.

"HAHAHA!!" the woman suddenly broke in a rancorous laughter.

"You ask me why? Just because everyone else calls you an alchemy genius, you thought yourself as a big shot? You are nothing but a cripple! You are not worthy of me!"

With each word, the woman plunged the pitch black dagger deeper into his chest. His body visibly aged and showed traces of disintegration. He can feel a burning pain from the deepest of his soul. However, this pain is nothing compared to the pain in his heart due to the woman's betrayal. He knew what that dagger was; it was the Heart Shattering Dagger. Such a vicious weapon! She does not even want to leave him with a corpse and a soul.

"Just die obediently. Now that your master is not here, no one will notice if you disappear anyway! There can only be one alchemy genius in the Pill Cloud Sect! And that is me!"

His body slowly turned into dust.
