CHAPTER START---

Sitting in class everyone was excited as they spoke about who they wanted their teammates to be.

"I hope my sensei can use lots of ninjutsu!"

"I'm gonna learn kenjutsu from my sensei!"

"As long as I can get stronger I'm happy!"

His classmates shared their hopes for their new teams, assuming they were the good ones that get picked that is. Most ninja will simply fall into the reserve corps and never get a personal jounin teacher. Jounin are not easy to find after all and not all will choose to spend their time teaching.

"Alright everyone, settle down, now listen for your names and instructions. Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha, you have been assigned to team 7, your jounin teacher will meet you at the academy soon"

There was a massive uproar at this announcement. Between the fangirls angry that Sasuke isn't on their team and Naruto being mad that Sasuke is on his team the room was immediately noisy. Eventually, Iruka got order back into the room before he continued.

"Next is team 8, Hinata Hyuga, Shino Aburame and Jin Satsujin. Meet your sensei at training ground 8 immediately" Iruka says as the 3 students leave their seats and exit the room together.

'This means I replaced Kiba, I wonder where he is going to go now, this isn't perfect since I'd rather of replaced Sakura but it can work. Kiba was in the Sasuke retrieval mission so I might still get their chakra from that fight. But what about Ku--'

"I'm sorry Shino did you say something? I was a bit lost in thought." Jin apologizes as he notices his teammates seem to be speaking.

"I'm glad to have both of you on my team, let's go" Shino quickly replies.

"Yeah me too, let's meet our sensei" Jin replies.

"Let's do our best" Hinata meekly adds at the end.

Arrive at training ground 8. The 3 Genin find an empty clearing with a lone pond in the middle of it.

"So...looks like we've got some time to kill huh."

"Maybe sensei is just late" Hinata replies as Shino doesn't even bother responding.

"I'm gonna get some shade," Jin says as he moves to the treeline and takes a seat, his allies wordlessly follow him.

"So Hinata, why haven't you asked out Naruto yet?" Jin suddenly questions the Hyuga girl.

"......" Hinata is completely stunned by his questions to the point that steam is almost visibly coming off her.

"Ugh, I've been trying to give you chance after chance and you haven't made any progress. Did you really think I ditched you two at the ramen shop for no reason. It was a date." Jin flatly says to the girl.

"D-d-date?" She trips over her worlds.

"If you never make a move and Naruto is too dumb to make a move, don't cry when some girl grows a spine and takes him from you."

"N-Naruto."

"Yeah, he.... Hinata, Byakugan to 3 o'clock and tell me what you see" Jin firmly says in a low voice.

"Alright, Byakugan," She says as the veins around her eyes bulge signaling the doujutsu activation. "I see, a lady in red, and what looks like a dress of bandages"

"Ok deactivate it, you did good, Shino prepare a trap with your bugs if you can, I'm gonna make an impression," Jin says as he pulls out a kunai from his pouch. As he prepares to hurl the blade he once more adds a small bit of force from his almighty push and rockets the kunai at the chakra he's sensing.

The kunai zooms across the clearing much to the surprise of his teammates and slices straight through multiple trees before leaving their range of hearing.

---Moments earlier, training ground 8...

Kurenai sat on a tree branch facing away from the clearing as she watched her chosen Genin walk into the clearing. She saw the red-haired boy, Jin walk to the pond and take a look inside before sitting at the treeline with his friends. As she saw them acting like actual friends a small smile formed on her face. 'It's good to see ninja being friendly with each other, now how long will it take them,' she pondered as she stopped watching them and made a hand seal. Leaning against the tree she began molding her chakra to use a small genjutsu as she approached them.

Suddenly, the moment her chakra flared for barely a moment. Seconds later she heard a tree crack behind her. Her eyes shot open as she leaps away from her position and turned to where her back was. Before her eyes a kunai flew through the tree she was on at her exact spot. had she not moved it would have pierced her shoulder. Drawing a kunai in mid-air instinctively she moved to deflect the projectile, even at such a ridiculous speed, it's not impossible for her to deflect it.

The last thing she expected, however, was for the projectile to slash through her own kunai and graze her bicep before flying off as if it hadn't touched anything. 'Wind chakra' was all she thought as she turned to chase the weapon, curious to see how far it would go.

After a few more trees the kunai finally stuck in one and allowed her to retrieve it. Quickly taking it in her hand she moved to greet her team, a brilliant smile on her face.

The sudden arrival of the unknown woman caught Hinata and Shino off guard causing them to react, Shino had some bugs chasing her while Hinata threw a kunai at the woman. To their surprise Jin did nothing. He did, however, notice the cut on her arm.

"Sorry about that sensei," Jin says in a casual tone as the woman leaps back to dodge the projectiles.

"Sensei?" Shino and Hinata ask in sync.

"Yes, I'm Kurenai Yuhi, your jounin teacher. It's a pleasure to meet you" Kurenai says with a soft smile.

"Likewise, can I have that back please," Jin says as he points at his kunai in her hand.

"Oh of course," She says as she hands over the kunai, "So how did you guys find me, and where did you learn to use that chakra?"

"I sensed you and had Hinata look at you while Shino made a trap for you here." Jin quickly answers.

"I'm glad I picked you three then, my perfect sensing and tracking team!" Kurenai cheerfully says, "But you never answered about the chakra."

"Self-taught, wind is the easiest because it's simple to understand what it does, and making a wet kunai is useless really," 'And I never saw the other elements training to I had to make up my own for them'.

"Huh, the Hokage was serious about that. Honestly taught the old man was just messing with me because I'm new. You all did good, congratulations on being accepted into my team, now what do you hope to learn from me and why, ladies first," Kurenai says.

"I, I want to be a strong ninja, for my friends and my clan," Hinata says.

"I have the same reason and taijutsu," Shino abruptly says.

"I'm going to be the Hokage and I'd like to learn elemental ninjutsu, I've had all the affinities at perfect control for years but nobody to teach me any jutsu since I'm not from one of the major clans, it's been really pissing me off," Jin says, becoming a bit excited at the idea of having someone to give him new jutsu.

While he got lost in excitement he took a moment to notice the absolutely horrified expression on his fellow shinobi.

"Um, that's.... uh-huh." Kurenai is shocked to the point of not knowing how to handle this. A genuine prodigy is on her team.

"What?" Jin asks, playing the 'Oblivious child' card on the jounin.

"Tomorrow we'll work on that, for now, let's get to know each other"

As the team bonded for the next hour before agreeing on a meeting time, Kurenai couldn't help but reflect on her new team. She felt elated to have such a talented team, and even more elated to be able to brag to Asuma about it.

She quickly made her way to the man in the Nara house with his new team. The INO-SHIKA-CHO formation. Arriving on the deck where he was speaking to his team she patiently waiting for him to address her.

"Kurenai, what can I help you with?" The man asked as his students sat in front of him.

"It's about one of my students, Jin Satsujin," Kurenai said.

"No trading, my team is perfect as is." Asuma quickly replied, shutting down what most jounin teachers would ask for.

"HA, you'd have to take him over my dead body! I need you to come to our training ground tomorrow, maybe you and Kakashi if Jin meant what he said." her voice becoming more serious as she spoke.

"What's going on?" Asuma questioned, a bit concerned now.

"He did this," She directs his attention to the bandaged cut on her arm.

"He cut a jounin the day he leaves the academy, damn. My team could find a place for a fourth maybe hahaha." Asuma joked, his students however were startled by this news. Earlier this day they fought Asuma and didn't land a hit.

"He threw a kunai over 200 ft through multiple trees at where he sensed me Asuma, with wind chakra on the blade." She says in a completely serious voice.

"Shit."

"Yeah, shit."

"Uh- are we missing something here?" Shikamaru interjected.

"He also says he has all five chakra nature transformations and wants me to teach him elemental ninjutsu. That's where I need you and Kakashi" She says as she paces back and forth.

"Dad told me about that, didn't think it was the kid on your team, I just assumed it was the Uchiha on Kakashi's. Yeah, this is a bit out of a genjutsu specialist's depth, no offense."

"No that's why I'm here"

"Why not just show him the jutsu?" Shikamaru suddenly said.

"Well it's not that I can't do that but teaching ninjutsu isn't as easy especially for elements you don't have down," Kurenai replied.

"Not for Jin." Choji suddenly spoke up despite his mouth full of chips.

"Jin just needs to see you use it and know the hand seals and he can do it I think, just show him once," Shikamaru said through his yawn as he positioned himself to lay on the floor.

"Am I the only one without a Sharingan on my team this year?" Asuma cried out dramatically.

"It's not Sharingan, he said he just 'Feels the changes hand seals causes and copies it' or something like that." Shikamaru corrected.

"Ok, never mind Kurenai you can keep him, having him sounds like way too much work haha good luck. I'll come to find you at the training grounds at lunch tomorrow alright, might as well bring these 3 as well, maybe they'll learn something." Asuma says.

"Thank you, I'm going to find Kakashi, I'll see you all tomorrow," Kurenai says before disappearing from her spot.

"Alright, now tell me everything you three know about this Jin kid, and I mean everything," Asuma said, suddenly having a more serious tone.

---Later that, Konoha Rooftop...

"Can't you and Asuma deal with this yourselves, it's only been one day and one of your genins is acting out?" Kakashi says in a tired tone.

"He's not acting out, he claims to have every nature transformation and you're the only person I really know with 4 transformations. Asuma specializes in wind and Jin has already used wind on his kunai, just come see what the kid's doing" Kurenai pleased.

"Alright just bring him over to me when you're done tomorrow, I should be done in our training ground by lunch."

"Thank you kakashi" Kurenai said.

"On more thing, keep a real good eye on this kid, even if he is self-thought like he said this kid could be a problem alright. Can't have someone like that going rogue." Kakashi said in a grim voice.

"I understand," she says before disappearing from the rooftop.
