32 CHAPTER 31(The line in the sand)

CHAPTER START---

Racing through the forest, Jin extends his senses to search for his friends.

'Choji's to my left, hmm.'

Reaching into the pouch behind his back he removes a few medical pills.

*POOF*

As a clone appears he hands the pills over as the clone goes to find Shikamaru's team.

'Yeah after this I could use some goodwill from anyone I can get, Shikamaru never really liked Sasuke so he shouldn't mind really. Man, you sure are unlucky Sasuke, sage mode was easier to get access to than I thought, so now I don't need you.'

As he delves deeper into his plans Jin hardens his gaze under his blindfold while accelerating his pace toward the valley of the end.

After a few minutes of racing at his top speed, with the advantage of knowing exactly where he is going Jin arrives quickly. Before Naruto and Sasuke in fact and picks a hiding spot to lay in wait.

Almost ten minutes later, they finally arrive. Stretching his senses Jin listens in on their conversation from behind a boulder behind Naruto.

"I BECAME YOUR FRIEND, WHY WOULD YOU FOLLOW OROCHIMARU!" Naruto screams at Sasuke.

"That is exactly why. I must kill you" Sasuke responds in a cold emotionless voice.

'Blah blah blah they've been talking for 5 minutes, Just shut up already.' Jin thinks to himself.

*CLANG*

'Huh, finally fighting.'

After a minute or so, Jin casually walks out from behind the rock and calls out to the genin below, fighting on the lake.

"HEY!"

As they both hear the familiar voice both their heads up to look at Jin. Both looked completely amazed that Jin wasn't the destroyed mess they had seen in the hospital.

"Naruto, go home. I had to give you a chance to talk him down and you blew it. Now I need to deal with this traitor."

"You won't be able to just DEAL with me anymore, I've gotten much stronger than you can imagine," Sasuke says as he points his kunai at Jin.

"Uh-huh, sure. Anyway, Naruto get out of here, now." Jin says a bit harshly.

"What are you gonna do with Sasuke when I leave?!" Naruto asks.

Stepping off the top of the valley and landing quietly on the lake below, Jin looks Sasuke in the eyes as he speaks to them.

"I'm going to make Itachi an only child. That's what happens to traitors Naruto."

"NO WAY, YOU CAN'T JUST KILL YOUR FRIENDS!"

"We've never been friends. He's always been an annoyance really. But fine, for the sake of my friendship with you Naruto. Sasuke, I'm giving you one more chance to return with Naruto to the village."

Raising his kunai once more toward Jin, Sasuke's decision is clear.

"Sorry Naruto, but please leave so you don't have to see this, I'm only doing my duty as a Jounin."

"You, granny made you a jounin after she healed you?!" Naruto exclaimed in surprise.

"Something like that, now one more time, please leave Naruto."

"I'll bring Sasuke back, just trust me. I, I WON'T LET HIM LEAVE, AND I WON'T LET YOU KILL HIM!"

"He wants to leave and I want him dead, what's your plan then Naruto?"

"I... I'll beat you both!" Naruto says as he draws a kunai, making this a full three-way standoff.

"You used to call lord third 'Grandpa', remember that. Orochimaru killed him and you're ok with Sasuke wanting to betray us and go to him. Are your friends more important than the village Naruto?" Jin asks in a calm voice, slowly placing his Staff Chakra Rod at his side and leaning on it.

Seeing the strange weapon Sasuke tenses up slightly as he prepares for a surprise attack of some sort.

"I, no, I just, I can do both. WHY CAN'T I DO BOTH?!" Naruto shouts.

"Because your friend is a filthy traitor, all Kage must be able to put the good of the many first. If such a clear case of your friend being a traitor is too much for you then you are unfit to be Hokage."

As those words are said a defeating silence befalls the group.

' C'mon dumbass just leave so you don't lose it when I kill him. That fox is bad news for everyone ' Jin thinks.

"Naruto," Sasuke finally speaks up, " He's strong, let's deal with him together then we can settle our differences. He clearly won't leave us alone."

"Ohhh, trying to pull Naruto to your side huh traitor," Jin says in a joking tone as he holds his staff over his shoulder.

"I, Sasuke's right. We'll beat you. Then I'll beat Sasuke. AND I'LL TAKE YOU BOTH BACK TO THE VI-"

*CRACK*

As Naruto is waving his hands around speaking, Jin pushes chakra into his legs and accelerates toward Naruto. Slamming his chakra staff into Naruto's stomach he completely folds him over the weapon before batting him out to the middle of the lake. Turning to look at Sasuke he immediately lunges forward and attempts a vertical swing, but the second it makes contact.

*POOF*

A log appears in Sasuke's place. Silence takes over the battlefield as Naruto is doubled over trying to catch his breath.

"You do know I'm a sensor right Sasuke?" Jin says before taking a deep breath.

'Great fireball Jutsu'

A massive ball of fire roughly three times the regular size of this Jutsu is shot toward Sasuke's hiding spot behind nearby rocks.

*SPLASH*

Sasuke immediately dives into the lake to avoid the attack.

A few moments later he surfaces, to both his and Naruto's surprise. Jin allows them to retake their positions on the lake as if the standoff was never broken.

"I gave you a chance to stay down Naruto, I really don't wanna fight you too man, c'mon."

Jin's pleading falls on deaf ears as Naruto draws a second kunai, effectively dual wielding.

"Sasuke, we have to do this together, he has better Ninjutsu than us. Let's just rush him" Naruto suggests to his rival. "Mmm," Sasuke hums as he too draws his blades.

"Fine, I'll just have Tsunade fix you when I'm done," Jin says as he holds out his palm.

'Rasengan'

'He doesn't use clones, and so fast, so this is what we've got to fight' Naruto thinks.

'That should shake Naruto enough, now to separate them,' playing on the known weaknesses of his opponents Jin rushes forward, Rasengan in hand.

As Jin takes a step forward he uses the body flicker technique to appear only a few feet in front of Naruto before lunging forward to slam the Rasengan in his right hand into Naruto's face. As Naruto instinctively reacts by trying to leap backward, however, he's too slow. The moment the Rasengan is about to kill the young boy it suddenly disappears, instead, a strong fist slams into the side of his face, sending him ragdolling across the valley.

Immediately leaping backward Jin dodges a kunai to the head from Sasuke. Looking over at his target a small smile creeps onto Jin's face as he brandishes his staff in both palms.

"Honestly Sasuke, can't say I won't enjoy this." That is all he says before rushing toward the Uchiha.

'SHARINGAN!' Sasuke immediately commands, pouring more chakra into his doujutsu than ever before, he barely keeps up with tracking Jin's movements. Narrowly dodging the first two strikes, to his surprise he can visibly see Jin becoming more and more blurry. 'Shit, he's accelerating' Sasuke thought as he began activating his curse mark.

As the black flame pattern spreads across Sasuke's body Jin takes a split second to consider his options. 'If I absorb it Orochimaru might track me because his soul is definitely in awakened curse marks, that means I'll just have to beat him until it leaves or he dies,' Jin thinks to himself as he tightens the grip on his staff.

Flowing chakra through his body and activating his Asura path for cybernetic augments, Jin proceeds to deliver a relentless beatdown onto Sasuke. Hit after hit after hit leaves the Uchiha in a state of disbelief.

'What the hell, was he always like this' Sasuke thinks to himself as the staff connects with the side of his head again. As Jin continues his assault he is interrupted again however by Naruto. Quickly looking back he extends his hand forward and absorbs the Rasengan before kneeing Naruto and tossing him back to the shore.

By the time he turns back to Sasuke however, 'Damn, curse mark level 1' he thinks as he sees the wings now on Sasuke's back.

"ARGHH!" A deafening yell comes from behind Jin.

Feeling the surge of chakra, Jin looks over his shoulder to see a pissed-off Naruto with red eyes staring at him.

"Fine, if you won't leave, I'll break you." Jin says as he kicks Sasuke in the gut, shunting him across the water into the shore.

Charging toward Naruto, to the surprise of nobody Naruto meets his charge and forms a Rasengan in his hand to hit Jin.

The moment they are about to make contact, however.

'Gakido'

Naruto's chakra disappears and his eyes go back to the bright blue they normally are. As the dip in adrenaline and chakra causes him to stall for an instant.

*BANG*

A fist collides with his face, sending him to the opposite side of the valley, completely separating him and Sasuke. Sensing an approaching attack Jin barely acknowledges it. "Too slow," he says as he crouches down to dodge the Chidori without even looking. The curse mark version one Sasuke flying past his head entirely.

As Sasuke deactivates his Jutsu, the black flame pattern begins to spread out even further on his body. His body shudders in response to the influx of power. At that moment Jin rushes forward.

'Why the hell would I just watch you transform?' he thinks as he thrusts the end of his staff toward Sasuke's heart.

"LIGHTNING BLADE!"

Moments before impact, Kakashi knocks the attack aside and kicks Jin in the stomach, making space between his student and the hunter.

"What, you're protecting a traitor?" Jin asks, clearly confused at the copy ninja's actions.

"No, I'm protecting my student and giving Naruto time to change his mind. I believe in their bond."

As Kakashi speaks, a shocked look claims Sasuke's face, even now his friends would protect him.

'I have to get to Orochimaru, Kakashi sensei can stall Jin no problem, I need to get rid of Naruto'

"KAKASHI SENSEI, I'LL GET SASUKE BACK!" Naruto says as he jumps to stand on the surface of the lake.

"Kakashi, when you wake up in the hospital, I hope you don't hold a grudge," Jin says as he taps the surface of the water with his staff. Directing his chakra through the rod he uses his first jutsu of the fight.

'WATER WALL!'

Emanating from in front of him a ten-foot-high wall of water rises to block the vision of his opponents.

'ALMIGHTY PUSH!'

Kakashi raises his guard. With kunai in hand, he fully expects Jin to rush through the wall or attack from below the water. Suddenly, however.

*BOOM*

Not only does a wave of water slam into the team seven's members, but an indistinguishable wave of force pushes them well onto the shore.

As the dust settles, small footsteps can be heard approaching the three ragdolled ninjas.

"Do everyone a favor and just stay down Kakashi, you're only making things worse," Jin says as he sees the battered copy ninja rising to his feet.

'Hmm, I can sense Naruto and Sasuke behind him. They aren't leaving, no, Naruto is gathering chakra. Hmm, I guess they decided to fight together,' Jin thinks as he analyses the situation.

'I've got 3 more lightning blades to use, that staff of his didn't even crack. Whatever it is must be strong. He used water wall and water shockwave earlier to get us to the shore. I have to get one clean hit to paralyze him, whatever damage I do lady Tsunade should be able to fix since she somehow managed to regrow his arms already. Alright Naruto, Sasuke, I'm counting on you '

As Kakashi rushes forward with a Kunai in hand he begins a full-contact taijutsu contest with jin. As the fight progresses, they appear to be evenly matched at first, but it becomes clear very quickly that Kakashi's experience is giving him the upper hand causing Jin to be pushed back.

'I need to bait his jutsu, part one Kakashi doesn't have much chakra so if I make him waste it then this is game over' Jin thinks as he makes to grapple Kakashi.

As Kakashi makes to leap backward to avoid the grapple.

'Universal Pull'

His body suddenly stalls for a moment, allowing Jin to grab his wrists. Completely confused he kicks Jin in the shin to take him off his feet.

'Argh, what the hell is this kid, it's like kicking metal,' He thinks as his kick has no effect. 'Something feels weird, my chakra. HE'S STEALING MY CHAKRA!'

As Kakashi's mind races to find a way out of the situation Jin tightens his grip on the man by using his cybernetics. Essentially making each of his hands into a powerful vice. A small smile forming on his lips as he sees Kakashi's panicked expression while he tries to break his grip.

"RASENGAN!" He hears Naruto yell.

Dropping Kakashi he leaps backward to avoid the attack causing Naruto to land exactly where he was standing, slamming the Rasengan into the ground.

"Hey, that's lethal Naruto, I haven't even been using much force against you guys yet. What's the big idea" Jin admits casually.

Panting on the ground to catch his breath, Kakashi takes a knee as he looked at Jin and tries to come up with a plan.

"Don't touch him Naruto, he absorbs chakra!" Kakashi warns, 'He absorbs chakra, has every element and no shortage of chakra. His taijutsu is good and he fights smart. As long as we don't have a lull in the fight for him to make space, focus Sasuke or use that summon that took down Shukaku.'

"We need to keep his hands occupied or there's no way in hell we get out of this." He announces as he brandishes a kunai in each hand.

As Sasuke rises to his feet, the taijutsu battle of their lives ensues. For most of the fight, Naruto and Sasuke are constantly on the defense while trying to interrupt all of Jin's attempts at grabbing Kakashi while occasionally landing hits on him.

'They're annoying, I need to just grab Kakashi then I can deal with these 2... fuck it, let's play along '

As Jin continues to fight, he switches his apparent plan of attack from focusing on Kakashi to focusing on Naruto.

'He's changing targets to the weakest link' Kakashi thinks as he begins aggressing, to his surprise however Naruto lands a solid hit on Jin, causing the young Jounin to stumble for a moment.

"GOTCHA!" Naruto yells as he tackles Jin, holding his arms to his side.

As Naruto takes hold of Jin, to everyone's surprise, there is no resistance, in fact, Jin quickly moves his arms and interlocks his hands behind Naruto's back, wrapping him in a tight hug.

'Gakido'

'Of course, his natural reaction is to use melee tactics, inexperience is a bitch huh Naruto' Jin thinks.

Suddenly Naruto begins to feel fatigued as the strength in his arms begins to waver. As this feeling takes over Jin immediately breaks his hold on Naruto and stabs the young genin in the leg with a kunai, avoiding any major arteries.

"ARGH!" Naruto yells as he drops to his knees.

With a solid kick, Jin sends Naruto rocketing out of the fight as he now stares down Kakashi and Sasuke.

"Hmmm, the teacher and his favorite student, the traitor," Jin says in a cold voice as he twirls his staff in his hand. "If you leave now I'll tear one of his Sharingan from the corpse for you Kakashi, though transplants only work between close relatives and all that," Jin says in a serious tone.

"Wh-What?" Sasuke asks, clearly confused by this information.

"Oh, did you think I was kidding when I bet the secrets of the Sharingan on our fight? Why do you think you were left alive that night. He needs your eyes to get stronger before he takes them. He's playing you moron and now you're gonna die for it." Jin taunts his target as he prepares his chakra.

"I, I'll kill Itachi, and I'll be the one to take his eyes. Even if I have to kill you."

As Sasuke threatens Jin, the black flames on his body begin spreading as they consume his entire body, quickly transforming him into a grey and black form with wings on his back shaped like hands.

"Gross." Jin plainly says.

"I'm not here to kill anyone, just make sure my students don't die. Jin, if you agree to subdue Sasuke we can deal with him and go back now." Kakashi says as he takes a few steps away from Sasuke, clearly unsettled by the sudden transformations.

"Sorry Kakashi, but Sasuke's gone too far already, you're about to be Konoha's last Sharingan."

Pushing all his prepared chakra into his Asura path, Jin boosts his physical body to a final rush attack, instantly accelerating to speed beyond his control. Tracked by his opponents Sharingan, forcing them to watch helplessly as their bodies simply can't keep up with what's about to happen.

*BOOM*

A sound impact is heard as he slams his staff through Sasuke's stomach as he full-body tackles him. As both young ninjas are sent tumbling through the air, skipping off the solid ground as they both get ragdolled by the shocking speed. Jin grabs onto Sasuke with his free hand on his collar bone.

*CRACK*

He shatters Sasuke's collar bone on the left side, maintaining his grip on the chakra rod the entire time, constantly flowing chakra through it to prevent Sasuke from focusing or using chakra of his own.

*BANG*

They both slam into the stone floor almost a hundred away, landing with Jin resting atop Sasuke. Holding the shattered collar bone and the staff, he releases his grip on Sasuke's injury and immediately reaches for Sasuke's left eye.

*SQUELCH*

*SPLURT*

"ARGHHHHHHHH!!" Sasuke howls as blood starts to pour out of his now empty eye socket.

Leaping off Sasuke and a few feet to the side, Jin dodges Kakashi's kunai and lands on his feet, placing the eyeball into his tool pouch.

'If not for that fucking curse mark I could have gone for the kill, stupid regeneration' He thinks as he sees Sasuke's bones already repairing themselves.

Staring down at his student, Kakashi is unsure what to make of the sight. Never did he think it would actually come to this. 'He's seriously going to kill him, damn it. I've lost soo much chakra.' Slowly reaching down he grabs onto the staff, beginning to pull the weapon out of Sasuke's midsection.

*CRACK*

Kakashi's ribs shatter the instant he begins to pull on the weapon. A severe kick from Jin sending him tumbling on the hard ground for dozens of meters before coming to a stop. As Kakashi comes to a stop with his back against a boulder he looks up to his opponent.

'This doesn't make sense, why is he so strong. Something isn't adding up.' He thinks while trying to rise to his feet.

"URGH!" He grunts as he drops back on his ass, more feeling the full pain of the injury.

"Stay down Kakashi, you don't have enough chakra or working bones to be a threat," Jin says as Kakashi closes his Sharingan eye.

Tearing the staff out of Sasuke's midsection he prepares to slam down into the downed boys' skull, ending the Uchiha clan in Konoha.

As he is thrusting downward, to Kakashi and Sasuke's surprise he suddenly turns, putting his back to Kakashi completely as he holds the staff in front of him.

*BOOM*

An enraged version two, one-tailed naruto punches Jin's weapon. The pure red chakra giving the appearance of a demon, gone is the young genin Jin once played in the rivers with.

As his back slams against the same boulder Kakashi is leaning against, two small pieces of his weapon are all that remain in his hands after blocking Naruto's strike.

"Great, now the Kyubi. Your team is so annoying." Jin says in an annoyed tone, completely confusing the frozen Kakashi at his side.

'Damn it, I'm in no condition to fight, why is this kid so cocky if he knows what that is,' Kakashi's mind races to find a way out of this situation.

"At least I don't have to hold back for once," Jin says aloud as he pours chakra into his legs, pushing his body to its limit as he rushes toward Naruto.

*BOOM*

As he lands a kick directly in Naruto's face, debris is thrown all around as the jinchuriki is sent onto the surface of the lake. 'I've never hit anyone that hard before, this is pretty fun' Jin thinks as he continues his assault.

As they run around the lake locked in a constant battle of taijutsu, with very hit Jin begins to accelerate, with every trade he hits stronger in the next, because, with every contact Naruto makes he steals the Kyubi chakra.

'This is like a buffet, c'mon Naruto keep this up a little longer!' He thinks as a manic smile spreads across his face.

Diggin himself out of a small pile of rubble on the shore, Kakashi looks on at the fight completely amazed that Jin is dealing with the Kyubi chakra this easily.

"How the hell did anyone survive fighting this kid?" He says as he takes a chakra pill out of his tool pouch and eats it.

As Kakashi is looking at the fight, and Jin is completely distracted by Naruto. Nobody notices a large white snake within the rubble consuming the young Uchiha before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

As the fight continues Jin lands a clean punch on Naruto's face, sending him rolling across the water. Taking the moment to search for Kakashi he notices something wrong. 'Kakashi hasn't moved, but I don't feel Sasuke. What the fuck!' He thinks as he rushes toward Naruto.

With a quick move, he grapples the young Jinchuriki, draining the little Kyubi chakra he has before it can refill the cloak, completely knocking him out. As he looks down at the unconscious boy in his arms, a small smile forms on his face. 'If only you knew how strong you would have been, but I can't risk the village and myself because you love your friends too much Naruto.'

Walking over to Kakashi he unceremoniously drops Naruto at the man's feet.

"Congratulations, you were enough of a distraction for him to get away, my Jounin practice mission was a failure because of you morons. Let's go report this to the Hokage, my clones met up with the others after the sand team helped them."

"You, you really were going to kill him, how did you deal with Naruto like that?" Kakashi asks, obviously concerned at this development.

"That's really none of your business now is it. Tsunade is waiting for us. C'mon" Jin says as he disappears with Naruto in his arms."

"Little monster," Kakashi says as he tries his best to keep up with his injuries.
