11 CHAPTER 11(The Grind Begins)

CHAPTER START---

Sitting around a large table with a variety of bar-b-que meats on the grill in the middle. Teams 8,10 and 7 were seated enjoying a nice meal.

"Hey Jin what's with the new clothes," Naruto asked with a piece of meat hanging out of his mouth.

"Eat then speak Naruto. This outfit helps my fighting style, keeping my enemy off-guard is the advantage I have with my jack of all trades style. If they can't see my hands they get nervous and it gives me room to stall them, I'm trying to get used to it before tomorrow's mission," Jin said as he raised his arm to show his somewhat baggy sleeve. His outfit was essentially standard leaf shinobi gear with a dark red Akatsuki robe draped over it.

"I think it looks cool," Ino says before realizing what she said and trying to hide by turning back to the food on her plate.

"Ohhh, looks like I've converted a fangirl. That's cute hehe," Jin teases the blonde causing her to tighter her grip on her chopsticks.

"Jin, stop teasing women like that!"

"Yes Kurenai sensei," He quickly said before focusing back on his food.

While Jin ate and everyone was having their own conversations, he noticed that Hinata was being extremely quiet and decided to have some fun. Giving her a gentle tap under the table she raised her head to look at him, an obvious blush on her cheek. moving his head slightly he signaled her to talk to Naruto, who was sitting right next to her.

With a rapid headshake, the girl promptly ignored him and went back to her plate. Deciding to have some fun for once he used universal pull to move her hand that was resting on the table directly onto Naruto's.

The speed at which she had retracted her hand was as if the girl touched a hot stove. "Oh did you want something Hinata?" the blonde boy asked the blushing mess of a girl and received no response.

Raising his blindfold slightly Jin showed his light brown eyes to the girl and gave her a slight wink before giving her the 'Shh' sign of a finger on the lip. Receiving only a rigid nod as her response.

"Huh, never would have guessed some normal brown eyes under there," Asuma says catching everyone off guard.

"Oh, what did you expect, Sharingan?" Jin asked with a smile on his face clearly joking.

"Eh, it may have crossed my mind. Would explain a lot"

"hahaha, Nah. I'm a completely different kind of beast." Jin says as he gives Asuma a bright smile.

"You're on your way kid," Kakashi says across the table.

"Ohh, coming from you that means a lot you know, thank you." Jin gratefully says with a smile on his face.

---later that evening...

Standing outside the restaurant everyone got ready to go their separate ways. Before parting however Kurenai pulled Jin aside to speak to him.

"Here, I used my jounin access to get some of these so DO.NOT. LOSE. THEM. Understand?"

She says as she hands him a scroll of storage.

"Thank you sensei, I promise I won't lose them, oh man I hope these are the ones I was hoping for. Is water dragon in here sensei?" he eagerly asks.

"Uh no that has 44 hand seals so I didn't think you would want it yet, if you get good enough with ALL of these then I'll consider getting you some more alright. now go get some rest and meet me at the mission office tomorrow at 7 o'clock. Team Kurenai has its first mission."

"Yes sensei!" Jin says as he runs off back to the orphanage. 'Man I can't wait to get actual money and get my own place' he thinks to himself as the familiar building can be seen in the distance.

As Jin got to the orphanage he immediately made 20 clones and handed the scroll to them before going to bed.

---The Hokages Residence later that night...

A stack of papers fell onto Hiruzen's table from Asuma's hand. The Hokage puffed his pipe before taking the papers and reading through them. This was none other than a full report on Jin Satsujin compiled with the help of Kakashi and Kurenai.

After quickly reading the documents the Hokage exhaled a small flamed and burned the report.

"You aren't going to file that?" his son asked.

"I think this one needs to stay in the light, he is strong and from what I hear, he fights for the future. Good qualities in any man."

"Keep him in the light, so that's why you didn't have him graduate early huh. That makes more sense than letting HIM notice Jin. Doesn't change that the kids a monster though. Eventually, he'll notice"

"I expect this one to get a reputation quite quickly, he can't take what everyone is watching after all. He missed his chance at the orphanage."

"Heh, I hope your right dad, this kid got past Kakashi, I'd rather that be in the light as well." Exhaling a puff of smoke from his cigarette Asuma lept out of the window and went to his home.

The following morning Jin woke up with a massive headache. Immediate moving to the showers and standing in the cold water to help with the pain. The backlash of all the clone's knowledge gained overnight hitting him at once. 'Damn I calculated the risk, but man am I bad at math,' he thought to himself as he stood in the shower for another 5 minutes until he no longer felt as if there was a nail being hammered into his skull.

After finishing his shower Jin got dressed and made 20 more clones to stay at the orphanage and practice while he went to the mission desk to meet his team.

Arriving at the meeting spot he found himself being the last person there.

"So I guess we all got here before 7 huh."

"Let's head inside, but I'm gonna warn you these upcoming days won't be as exciting as yesterday," Kurenai said as they enter the building and collect a D rank mission.

"So, we paint fences, that's....that's our big mission," Jin said to his sensei 'How the hell did I forget about this crap, I should have sent a clone here damn it' he lamented to himself.

"Yup, you have to start small no matter what you're doing, and it gets you used to the mission process. Let's go meet the client" Kurenai says as she begins to walk off.

---2 Hours later...

Walking back into the mission-building team Kurenai can be seen looking bored out of their minds.

"How many more of these do we have to do exactly sensei?"

"Only about 9 more, it's the minimum"

"Can we get all in one day?" Jin asks, completely blindsiding Kurenai.

"Uh, I don't see why not for these but, even if it's just painting you three can only paint so fast."

"Sensei, we're ninja, we can make clones to do this kind of boring stuff," Jin says as if he was talking to a child.

"I'll only accept one mission at a time for this team, clones are fine but you still split the reward amongst the 3 of you fairly."

"Of course sensei! Hinata, Shino, we've got 9 more missions to do. Let's get these out of the way!"

"Uh-Alright Jin-san" Hinata replied

"...." As usual, Shino stays completely silent.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence team" sigh, "Let's get another mission sensei."

---Later that night at the mission building...

"YES! No more stupid D rank missions" Jin said happily as he threw his arms into the air.

"Most people aren't this excited to start risking their life you know Jin," Kurenai said with a bit of concern.

"I'm gonna be the Hokage someday, that means more than just being strong. Jiraiya the Legendary Sannin has the most recorded missions complete with just over 1800 and I think he is the best fit for Hokage aside from lord thrid. I'm gonna beat his record before I become Hokage. These D-rank missions aren't gonna look good on that records sheet!"

"I didn't know you thought about that, well get some rest. Our first C-Rank mission is tomorrow."

"Alright sensei, goodnight everyone," Jin says before running off to the orphanage once more.

As he approaches the orphanage he makes another set of clones to train in the training grounds of Konoha, his 4th set for the day before he goes to bed for the night, 'That much closer to having my own apartment, just a little more' he thinks to himself as he prepares for bed.

---Asuma's House...

Sitting across from Asuma as they have dinner, Kurenai can be seen joking with her fellow Jonin.

"And that's why we have our first C-Rank mission tomorrow. You should have seen it, he was so adamant about breaking that record. I'm telling you Asuma I got lucky, not to mention he actually speaks unlike the other two." She says as she takes a sip of her wine.

"Well that's good to hear, my team has a motivation problem honestly. One is lazy, one only likes to eat and the last one cares too much about her appearance to be seen pulling weeds for a D-Rank mission." He moves to take his pack of cigarettes out before looking at his guest, subtly placing it back into his pocket he continues. "I'm hoping they'll shape up into the proper INO-SHIKI-CHO formation before long, at least before any serious fights."

"I'm sure they'll be fine, now enough work," Kurenai says as she blows out the candle on the table.
