22 Out of the Plan

Jiang Yanxu didn't react when Yan An left. He was quiet with his mouth slightly open, not expecting they would be reunited too suddenly.

While Wen Huiyi ... didn't know what he was thinking right here. His face looked bright, but who would have thought that there was such mysteriousness in his expression?

Wen Huiyi glanced at Jiang Yanxu beside him and smiled secretly. "Uh! I didn't think we would see Yan An today. Why don't we take him to lunch, huh? Uh, stupid," he exclaimed all of a sudden.

Jiang Yanxu paid no heed to these words but asked in a serious tone, "What exactly does it mean?"

Wen Huiyi frowned. "What do you mean?"

"You're not stupid enough to not figure out my question," Jiang Yanxu replied in a cold voice.

Wen Huiyi heard it and shuddered slightly at the apathetic man's tone. He insisted, "I don't get it. If you need an answer, why don't you ask me in clearer terms." He squeaked in annoyance, cursing, "But dammit, now, you just got me more confused."

In actuality, Wen Huiyi wasn't that stupid. Indeed. From the start, he knew the intention of this dialogue, but he pretended to show a stupid act, which he knew was useless for someone like Jiang Yanxu.

Wen Huiyi pretended to focus on one of the paintings in front of him, hoping Jiang Yanxu would stop pushing him with any questions, but again, he knew it was pointless.

"Is this your real intention?" Jiang Yanxu asked emotionlessly.

In a second, Wen Huiyi's expression changed drastically. Like a wolf caught camouflaged as a sheep, his cold-blooded color was exposed. He turned to Jiang Yanxu, stared at him sharply, then asked again, "What the hell do you mean? Say it more clearly. Please."

Wen Huiyi didn't want to be defeated. Jiang Yanxu was urging him to open his mouth, so he also wanted to push Jiang Yanxu to get straight to the point of their talk.

In the end, Jiang Yanxu lowered his self-worth to reply, "Did you purposely invite me here just to meet him (Yan An)?"

When Jiang Yanxu saw through his cover, Wen Huiyi didn't waver at all. Even the expression he showed indicated much more arrogance. He responded confidently, "That's right. But, this was out of my plan. First, I wanted to bring you two together by inviting him to lunch, but you met him already."

"For what?" Jiang Yanxu clenched his fists. Even though he wanted to spit in Wen Huiyi's face, he managed to stay calm.

Wen Huiyi smirked coldly. "Just to make sure you don't have any regrets about dumping him once more, haha."

Jiang Yanxu had predicted the answer and that was enough for him to understand. He took a deep breath, slowly relaxed his fists, and then said, "It's not a big deal anyway. You even confirmed this beforehand and you already got my answer, didn't you?"

"Heh." Wen Huiyi grinned slyly. He thought for a moment before saying, "That's right. I was too naive. I wasn't supposed to go to the trouble of doing this, just to confirm that."

Jiang Yanxu didn't make a reply. He turned his face to the painting of the female figure in front of him without a single emotion in his eyes. However, who knows if his heart is in disruption?

From this situation, Jiang Yanxu got a clear sight that Wen Huiyi was obsessed with Yan An!

He didn't approve of this deep down in his heart. Yet, remembering the past when he got news that Yan An was in a relationship with Wen Huiyi, he wondered what tricks Wen Huiyi had shown so that Yan An would accept him.

Secretly, Wen Huiyi peeked at Jiang Yanxu. As if he were analyzing Jiang Yanxu's thoughts through his emotionless face, he found out something odd that he couldn't define.

Even though Jiang Yanxu hadn't said a word, his cold ambiance radiated even more. Wen Huiyi seemed to be able to sense it in his bones.

To lighten the mood, Wen Huiyi eventually spoke, "Oh, yeah, since it's time for lunch, I'll take you to my colleague's cafe. The taste of the meals is flavorful too, you know. I'll treat you this time."

"No," Jiang Yanxu answered simply.

Wen Huiyi scratched his temples. This firm refusal certainly made him awkward. He knew Jiang Yanxu's mood had been bad since they were on the cruise and now it got even worse.

His initial plan was to bring Jiang Yanxu and Yan An together at a cafe, then he wanted to show his closeness to Yan An in front of Jiang Yanxu to see his reaction—was what Jiang Yanxu said before truly trustworthy or not?

We didn't know what he wanted to confirm obviously, but it didn't go according to his plan.

Before Wen Huiyi could think too far, Jiang Yanxu muttered, "I get to go back tomorrow."

Although Jiang Yanxu's voice was lower, the words were still clear in Wen Huiyi's ears. He frowned, then curiously asked to ensure, "Where? China?"

Jiang Yanxu didn't hesitate to answer, "Yeah, right."

Wen Huiyi cracked up. He sneered, "I thought it was a shit you said that time, you know. But, I don't believe you mean it this time too."

"I mean it," Jiang Yanxu stressed.

Hearing that answer, Wen Huiyi felt a bit convinced. He nodded, then asked, "By yourself?"

Jiang Yanxu, "Hn."

Wen Huiyi took a deep breath, trying to remind, "Are you sure you want to leave Xinxin? Do you believe he won't whine and stop you? Going back by yourself is unreasonable, you know."

Jiang Yanxu fell silent. He had thought about this before. Therefore, he had to find a good reason to escape.

Basically, Wen Huiyi was still curious about why Jiang Yanxu decided on this matter all of a sudden. If it was about business affairs, then there was no reason for him to leave Ye Xinxin here alone. However, questioning it right now could make things get worse, he preferred to keep it to himself and ask him another time. Now, he could only reassure, "Ye Xinxin will never let you go and you know that. If you did it, then he will trouble us all here, don't you think?"

Wen Huiyi spoke as if they were close friends. Even so, Jiang Yanxu wasn't bothered by his act—not right now—because finding a reason to escape was much more complicated in his head.
