Chapter 35:Cold

Axel griped his sheath tighter and lifted his hand slightly causing the water in multiple places to rise likes spears of water and move straight at Isaiah. Isaiah held his halberd in his hand tighter and ran forward with a grin. Each spear of water would slam into the ground making a large splash of water come from the ground and making it hard to see. The ones that Isaiah didn't dodge outright, he'd swing his halberd at freezing the water and shattering before it could hit him. Axel saw this and was shocked, but forced himself to get over it for now, and focus. Grabbing his longsword and pulling it out from the sheath he put both hands on the handle.

As Isiah continued to come, turning the water into ice briefly before they would shatter and fall into the water again. Axel kept having the water 'spears' fly at him while reading himself. As Isaiah finally got up to Axel, he swung down with the ax side. Axel's sword slammed against the halberd and pushed it off. Isaiah kept singing down and form the side at him. Which made Axel have to keep blocking each attack, not giving him a chance to fight back. Axel made four water spears come up from behind him and come down from above towards Isaiah. Jumping back he avoided the water before running around the side and charging Axel once again. This time thrusting the spear tip at Axel, forcing him to back off once again. However, he followed it up by swinging the ax head right at Axel's torso. Moving his sword in the way he stopped the blade from cutting into him, however, the blade itself was covered in ice in the area around where the ax had landed. The force of the impact also threw Axel back a bit. Getting his footing back, he ran up and slashed at Isaiah. Each slash and thrust of the blade barely missing due to Isaiah's speed and bouncing the attacks off with the pole. A few of his attacks did land on Isaiah, but not without taking a few hits himself from the halberd. Axel and Isaiah were both smiling. Alex was mainly due to having a strong opponent, while Isaiah simply was happy with the results of his training in not only lvls, but cultivation, and weapons. plus getting lucky with the rare chest too. It really did pay off to do what he did. O yea, and adrenaline in his blood, that too.

The two continued to slash at one and another, both were covered in cuts, some bigger than others. Both at this point had used up a lot of energy during this fight so far. it had been around five minutes to six minutes already. And the entire time they were fighting non-stop at high speed. Even tho they both had a lot of stamina, this much energy constantly draining for so long is still taxing. Isaiah caught his breath for a second before dashing up to Axel and kicking him across the area sending him rolling through the water, but he stopped himself by making a small wall of water. Axel was clearly drained of mana, and his stamina was running low too. Axel stumbled up to his feet and readied himself again but this time made the water cover his sword and made it a bit wider, and longer. Bringing the sword back all the way so his hands were by his waist on one side, and the blade was far behind him he stared at Isaiah.

He only had a few more options left sense his mana was low now. He had to make it count now. Axel took a deep breath and closed his eyes. As he breathed, his breath became available. Right after, Axel dragged his sword from behind him and swung at the air towards Isaiah. As this happened Isaiah stared at Axel caught off guard. The water rose up from behind Axel like a massive wave of water rising from the sea in the same direction of the blade. Isaiah only had one chance to get through the water, or else he'd be slammed to the ground and lose immediately after as he would be unable to get up with what energy he had left. He gripped the Halberd with both arms and lowered his body and ran in a straight line towards Axel. He held the spear tip of the halberd out in front of him and gripped tightly to the shaft of the weapon as he saw the huge wave of water coming right at him.

Axel made a full swing with the sword as he saw the water go over him and crash down in front. Axel's mana was now empty, and the water on his sword fell to the ground. In front of him he saw a light blue like circle coming from within the wave. Before suddenly the centre of the wave froze before shattering and he saw Isaiah running straight towards him. Axel in the split second as this all happened couldn't help but laugh to himself as he saw that he had gotten past such a strong wave of water. Isaiah slammed into Axel sending him flying into the side of the arena's wall. where he passed out from exhaustion. Isaiah struggled to stand up so he used his halberd as a way to hold himself up. He was declared the winner. Upon hearing this the crowd had cheered and was happy by the show. Isaiah skilled before he made the weapon go back in his inventory and he passed out falling to the ground.

James and the group was excited for Isaiah for his victory. But also they were surprised by his ability which none of them had known about until now. James could guess roughly how the ability worked. But he would have to wait until his brother woke up and found out exactly. Until then he would be simply ok with waiting and be happy for his brother. he was proud of him after all. Plus as the son of Lucifer, be proud runs in his blood.
