3 Chapter 3 (Fixed)

In front of James as he lay on the grass was a stone path leading from the doors of the mansion down a hill and far out. Along the road were houses and farms. If James wished to do so, there was a town not too far down the road within a visible distance that he can go to. However he was a little bit lazy at the moment and never left the mansion's property itself.

James lay there starring at the sky until he heard the front door open. Before he could turn around he heard the head maid yelling at him, "James! You're not supposed to leave this house without telling someone!" James sat up quickly and stared at the woman, " sorry but it looked nice out, I forgot"

"Don't You lie to me, you snuck out on purpose to get away from chores!" James got up and ran down the stone path quickly. 'Damn it. I don't wannaaa'.

After about 2 minutes of running, he had come to a stop. Looking behind him, he saw that the woman had not chased after him. James turned back around, in front of him was the town that was in the distance prior. The streets were filled with people of different races, looking around in awe of the number of people he started to wander the streets. 'I wonder if there are any schools for magic or something...maybe even a market with a sword...wait...I have no money...ugh.'

James started to walk around the town exploring all the streets and back roads, after all, to him at least, what royal shouldn't know there own land. As he walked he saw a kid sitting down alone looking at what looks like a notebook. James walked up towards the kid. "Hello" The little boy peered up at him, "Hello?"

"um....what are you doing?"

"Drawing," He turned the notebook towards James showing a colorful sky with a person floating in it with pitch-black wings. "wow that's awesome"

"T-thanks" As the kid let out a little bit of embarrassment, and scratched his head.

"My names James, nice to meet you"

"Names Tom," he said as he smiled.

"So, friends?"

"S-Sure,"

James and Tom then walked around the town together. Stopping from time to time, so that Tom could show James around. As the sun had started to set, James left Tom and went back home. By the time he got to the doors he felt a chill go up to his back. 'I'm so getting in trouble...'

He opened the door and slowly closed it behind him. He started walking down the hall as quietly as he could. "James, where were you today?" A soft voice came from behind him, he felt the non-existent hairs on his arms stick up. James turned around and looked up at the tall and elegant woman behind him. she wore a long blue dress and her long golden hair going down to her lower back.

"Um, nowhere special, I made a new friend though Mom" James tried to smile and act innocent starring up at his mother. She stared down at him for a moment without saying anything.

For a few moments it was only silence in the room. He was worried she was going to be pissed.

She stared down at him with her golden eyes. She picked him up so quickly he couldn't even see it and hugged him tightly, "Aw~ I'm so glad my little boy made a friend finally"

"Mommm~," James said embarrassed. His mother carried him to his father and stared at him. "hunn~" He looked at her holding James with a questioning look. "Our baby made his first friend"

"That's good, he can finally get outside." Mother sat there and glared at him, "Your the one who said he couldn't go out yet..."

"O...uh right.."

James noticed her grip weaken slightly and quickly leapt out of her arms, dashing to his room, locking the door. 'Finally, I'm safe, now let's see, I made a friend and learned most of the town near my home so... I guess now I just need to get stronger so I can travel...maybe I can even go back to the human realm at some point.'

Quickly sitting on his bed he relaxed and spent a few hours cultivating. After he had finished he fell over.

'system, How can I learn skills'

*There are a few ways to do this, 1)learn them naturally, obviously. 2) kill monsters or people and [???] them with [????] 3) use a skill book or scroll*

'I see...also was that sass...'

*I have no clue what you're referring to*

'...'

James sat up and thought about this. 'killing right now probably isn't in the best of his interests, especially since he's very weak compared to most monsters or people that he's seen...though there are weaker monsters or people than him it would take a while to find something like that in this area. Skill books would be nice however he doesn't currently own any. Leaving him naturally to learn them.

James sat there for a moment, 'I mainly want something to have so I can at least protect my self.. but before that, I need the basics.' Putting out his hand he closed his eyes and felt the mana within his body flowing like a stream. He slowly tried to push it towards his hand and cover it in the mana. He managed to get it a little over his wrists before he lost concentration. 'ughhh....this is harder then I thought...ughh all the games and media made it seem so easyyy.' Taking a deep breath he sat there calming his breath. This would be a lot harder if his emotions are unstable.

Once again he pushed his mana over his hand but this time successfully, then he pushes it a bit past his hand making a blackish glow.
