18 Chapter 18: Ranking qualifiers part:1

A woman walks down the road of the city to a restaurant. She wanted something to eat soon. On second thought, fast food sounds better right now...

Turning down some roads she went and walked around as so did many people all going about their days as regular. Looking over she saw a cafe, entering she ate some food before going looking around on her laptop. As she looked through view-tube, she saw a video of a boy standing atop a giant bird-like creature. As she stared at the image of the boy she felt like she knew this person.

Why was this individual familiar to her...wait....she paused it and zoomed in on his face. Suddenly she remembered two people from when she was younger. Isaiah...James! Suddenly she remembered the time when her life was simple and before she had gained her new strength. She had almost forgotten all about back then.

She wanted to see them again. The three of them as a group again. "I wonder if there friends still with the others, and if James has...." she shook her head, 'common focus we need to find them again

After a bit of time searching through what she could find she found where the location of the video was taken. As soon as she found the location she made a ticket to the city in America and called her father telling him she was leaving for a trip. Before he could say anything she hanged up and got her stuff together and went to the airport.

As she sat down in the pain she stared out the window and the plane took off for the USA.

{USA, James POV}

{next day, 10 Am}

Walking down the hall towards the arena James took a deep breath. 'Time to reach out for the top. I will climb the power ladder and won't stop till I'm at the peak. only then can I live without worry. Then not even Father(Lucifer) or Gramps(God) could stop me. But that wont be for a very long time. I barley am level 10...{He did a lot of power leveling on ants...} No matter, I can do this. I should be in the top 20 students at the moment. As he walked into the arena he saw a bunch of students around in the seats staring down into the arena like a hockey stadium except the lowest seats still are up on a wall about 10ft high off the ground. the arena itself was around 60 yards by 60 yards in a circular shape

Staff and students both filled the seats while two people sat up in a booth behind some glass with a table in front of them. He assumed this was all recorded and was broadcasted to show off the students competing. *sigh* walking over he sat down and watched as students clashed. all students would have to fight at least once to be able to advance. the better you are the higher rank you get.

As students fought some used their weapons others didn't. Mainly due to some not having money for it, while some just didn't want to. Though he didn't pay much attention to theses fights except for the ones that included himself and his friends. Although from the look of things he would be up first. Although for today it was only one fight and the winner moved on to the next rank. The loser of this round would get into the [F] rank it was still annoying. He knew at this point he'd probably win without much effort for this round with the staff not knowing exactly how to put him against others' sense he was only ever displayed strength once at school publicly. even then not many saw what happened then.

Soon after he heard his name called over the intercoms to go on. instead of walking down the stair-like a normal person he leaped over the stands and landed on the areas ground and waited. As the student stood before him he sighed before walking towards the kid.

As he walked he rested one hand on one of the swords on his side while the other arm dangled to his side. James stopped midway through the arena and cleared his throat.

"If you can hit me once ill admit defeat! However, if you fail to do so within the first ten moves I will hit back"

Everyone in the stands stared at him in shock and annoyance. How could he be so arrogant some said. Simple really, though they didn't know, he was very fast. James smirked slightly and stared at the kid.
