15 Chapter 15:training,shop

James sat on a wooden bench watching his friends play basketball as he thought about everything like usual. He wasn't sure why, but ever since his new life, he's taken a lot more time planning and thinking. And be cared more for the people around him. In the past he would find sometimes a disconnect from people. But now he feels attached to some people. Not many but a few is better than none to him.

Although he still carried his mental "history" he seems to be getting better at connecting with others. This made him happy a bit but moved on to planning his next move. He was definitely strong at the moment but he'd like to get skilled, as well as stronger. He needs to become good enough to win the school tournaments, if he wants to protect everyone from whatever bullshiz (God) plans on sending eventually his way, he can't relax. Not yet.

Compared to the current hunters in the world he's not strong enough. And his generation is stronger than them in their potential. First up, he would need to learn to use swords. Then he needs to grow in power and train his friends and brother.

Later in the day James was shopping and looked for two katanas. Eventually he came across a pair of decent swords within his ability to buy. After purchasing them he went home to the back yard and started to get used to the weight of the blades.

Soon after he took breaths and swung the blades in sync. A few hours later after trying different forms and swings he got a notification.

*bing*

*skill learned*

[swordsmanship]

[lvl 1]

James was happy about this, at least the system recognized he learned some basic way of swinging a sharp stick. After gaining a small victory James practiced his other skills for 2 hours before resting. As James sat there watching TV he started to nod off and his muscles hurt a bit from holding swords for a while so long.

*so...*

'Wa'

*Is this a bad time?*

'No, not really'

*well, if you say so. So we don't talk much and you never named me as well*

'Huh, o right sorry about that'

*Don't worry about it too much*

'K, hm'

*?*

'Thinking..., how about Nessie?'

*sure*

'ok, Nessie it is, but I'm going to sleep cuz I'm exhausted'

*why don't you just buy skills or things to help your stamina*

'. . . what do I need to use to buy items'

*money...*

' like,'

*when you kill monsters, finish dungeons, etc, you get currency as well*

'Alright, how much do I have right now?'

* 10,000g*

'holy shit! when did I get so much????'

*killings an entire nest of ants and a copper bear*

'..right, um can you bring up the shop please'

*bing*

James started scrolling through the shop, it had different tabs and ways filtering things out. Many various items with prices where there, though one item peaked his interest.

[Energy bottle]

[A drink that boosts your energy. Basically an energy drink but 10x more effective]

[cost:100g]

'Perfect,' upon buying the drink, a bottle looking like a large soda can, appeared through a blue light. James grabbed it and stared at it for a moment.

opening up the top he drank some. Immediately he felt his fatigue start to go away and a taste to an amazing drink in his old life called rite. without much hesitation he downed the whole thing. He felt like he could run around the whole town right now and still have some energy.

James stood up quickly to go outside again. However he fell over from getting dizzy cuz he stood up to fast. James lay on the floor for a second before getting back up and walked outside to practice more. By the time he was done with his training, it was already morning and he was still tweaking a bit from the energy drink.

"damn that's effective, this could make things easier...if I use it too much Ill become used to it...damn it!"

Disappointingly James decided not to abuse the drink for his own sake. When he got to school he found that most of the students had been dueling each other to establish a sort of hierarchy in the school. He was confident he could probably get [high-B] or [A] rank. And with a bit of time, maybe [S] although he's not sure how strong those students are now, he wasn't paying attention to most people's growth in the past few years.

As he thought about this he wondered about where the others would rank, again he wasn't able to confirm his theories as he wasn't aware of the average of each rank. Without much more thought he gave up on trying to speculate and considered if he should try to rank up now or wait. if he waits he might have to deal with people looking down on him and his friends, if he becomes high rank, everyone will know about him. This didn't bother him, but he didn't really care for people much as they usually were annoying.

'ugh, they both help me out in some way... I guess ill just go with this then.'

James stared out a window and at the road for a moment before walking again.
