Chapter 40: Date

Soon the waiter arrives there and asks for the dishes. Kevin failed to notice Elizabeth's absenteeism he was also lost in his greedy world. He was sure he has already grabbed her heart and will agree to any of his requests.

Thereafter, Kevin asked Elizabeth first to order to maintain his gentleman's image.

If it was in the past Elizabeth will never order expensive food taking his wealth into consideration or simple decline by saying whatever you order is fine but now is different plus she is also suspicious of his identity it is right to test him step by step so she ordered apple pie, tacos, grilled cheese and at last baked Alaska as the desert.

These all were light dishes but expensive. She doesn't want to fill her stomach before she went to Johnson. She knows aunty culinary art is best. Thinking that she salivates in her mind.

Also, she wants to avenge the foolish side of her who saves money for him considering his gentleness towards her. She observes Kevin's expression while ordering the dishes turns ugly. She was right because only after her two orders he was going to stop her from making an order but he stops himself midway as in her eyes he didn't know about these dishes much. Ho! ho! not a petty person, he must belong to some rich category.

Elizabeth pretends to not know anything and hand over the menu to Kevin.

"I have ordered for me you can order for yourself now."

"Oh," Kevin calmly accepted the menu and can't raise opinion about the dishes ordered. If he raises opinion it will only make her suspicious of him.

The waiter was most happy among them seeking the rich customer, the tip must be given generously. He leaves smilingly.

Kevin has his doubt. Previously Elizabeth never ordered such food, he was rich but don't have much money in his hand right now. Also, Elizabeth knew he was only a normal employee at their company but regardless of this, she ordered such expensive food. Is she doubtful or know something about my identity?

He was confused and keep in mind to take precautions to not make Elizabeth know the truth as his father ordered he can't tell her his identity for now or else it will ruin their plan.

He composes himself again. He is already in a tight hand of money now as most of it was spent on Lucy's necessities. Later he will make Elizabeth pay the bill, with that in mind he console himself.

Nearby their seat a girl was staring at their interaction she hears the dishes Elizabeth ordered. Lucy grinned her teeth in jealousy.

'By what mean Elizabeth can spend his so much money. Lucy knew Kevin's identity recently and she was taking many precautions to bind him to herself. The key point for binding him is Elizabeth.'

Kevin has explained to her that he has no interest in Elizabeth. What he needs is her reputation and wealth for gaining a stable foothold in the business world. Later after achieving his goal, he promises to give her a proper identity.

Lucy was rejoiced listening to Kevin. She never thinks Kevin is much more wealthy than she thought not a normal employee. He asked her to keep his identity secret for now as it can't be exposed now and she is the only one who knows it. He said that he can't trust anyone for now.

Lucy was satisfied with his truth and assured him that his secret will be kept safe with her.

She was now more determined to take Kevin away from her. 'Whatever, she only thinks that I am her only best friend so she will never doubt her after she carefully explains the previous situation.' Lucy said to herself and determined to win Elizabeth's trust again.

The one thing that she was unaware of is Elizabeth is not her previous self. But so what she deceives herself with various reasons as she was confident in her acting that Elizabeth can never detect and escape from it.

Kevin's mind is on how to accomplish today's mission so he neglects to surround and fail to notice Lucy's presence. Same with Elizabeth she was thinking about her visit to the Johnson family. It was her first time at Johnsons' after she rejuvenated.

She can't embarrass herself and Smiths' so she has to carefully select gifts for them after this lunch. With that, she thinks of some proper gift for the elders and her best friend.

Snapping them out of their thoughts, the waiter served the dishes in the fastest time as it was not their restaurants' peak hour.

The delicious smell of food brought them back from their thoughts.
