19 Chapter 19: The Banquet

A few days have passed. Elizabeth is focusing on studies along with preparing for the banquet.

Today is the day of the banquet and also the day when her grandfather will proclaim the massive surprise to everyone.

Recalling past Elizabeth remembers that she did not stay late for the banquet and leaves early. The polarity of her with regards to her grandfather's words and father's consideration creates huge havoc for Smith's family.

Since that day Harris company faces several hardships. His health started to deteriorate due to various reasons. Remembering what she did in the past and Lucy encouraging her towards a black hole creating a gap between her and her family. Lucy also uses the time and pushes Elizabeth towards Kevin more. Kevin successfully grasp Elizabeth after this. Lucy had known the purpose of the banquet beforehand.

'This time I am not gonna repeat the same mistake and fall in their trap' Elizabeth said to herself. But Elizabeth was also at a disadvantage as she didn't remain at the banquet for much time in her previous life so some events can happen which didn't occur in her previous life.

"Princess if you are done, let's go. Your grandfather just called and said your grandmother is waiting for you. You don't want them to wait for us, Right?" Elizabeth listens to her father's words and sigh. She took a look at the mirror and looked elegant.

The banquet was held at Old Smith mansion as Oliver consider it as a great event for her granddaughter's life and want nothing to go wrong. It is almost 7'o clock in the evening the party will be started shortly.

Elizabeth was nervous inside the Chevrolet Silverado with her father. Harris noticed tensed Elizabeth. He sighs and pats on her shoulder to let her be at ease giving a reassuring smile like saying 'I am here don't worry!'

When they reached outside the Mansion the banquet was already filled with people. The Chevrolet Silverado stops at the entrance of the banquet and both father-daughter duos go inside.

They were greeted by the extravagant decoration, Elizabeth had not noticed in her previous life much but the elegant decoration astounds her. The banquet was a breathtaking sight for her, her grandparents have good tastes. The house was similar to the Mansions of ancient times but with a tinge of modern touch.

The people present at the banquet noticed the father-daughter duo walking inside.

The CEO of the Smith Corporation, Harris Smith wearing a tuxedo paired with a white dress shirt, and a solid-colored tie with handcuffs he did not look old and is handsome. On Harris's side, his daughter Elizabeth Smith wore a golden retro dress that her aunt Amy had gifted her.

Elizabeth looked stunningly gorgeous gazing at her some old friends of the smith family can found a shadow of Elizabeths' mother on her. The color of the dress suited her and light makeup outshine her beauty perfectly.

The young and old generation all were mesmerized by her looks. Both father and daughter looked breathtakingly fabulous.

"Elizabeth" the father and daughter turned towards the familiar voice and smiled heartily. They saw a man in his seventies with a woman in her sixties beside they both looked elegant except for their age.

Elizabeth could not contain her emotions and run off to her grandparents for a warm hug.

"Ayee Eliza today is your special day walk slowly don't fall." Brenda reminded carefully.

"We missed you so much you seem to forget us old couple. You did not even visit us for a long time!" Brenda Smith teased her granddaughter after she got a hug.

When Elizabeth heard that she felt guilty, indeed, she had not visited them for a long time in the past and after rebirth, she was busy with various events and did not visit them.

In her past life, she did not show any affection towards their grandparents and always try to contradict them until Elizabeth become a threat to her wife Brenda Oliver serve his ties with them. Brenda was well known as the retired master of the dark elite which was still loyal to her. But in front of her precious granddaughter, she was weak.

Brenda noticed that her granddaughter had sowed her face in her embrace and she can feel something wrong. She passes a gaze to Harris if asking 'What did you do to my precious Eliza?' but to her disappointment, her son just shrugged 'like not knowing anything.'

When Brenda feel the warm droplet in her embrace, she was startled. Why does Elizabeth is crying? Her granddaughter never cried in front of her and she did not know who upset her.

"Harris what did you do to Eliza?" Brenda asked furiously to her son. Harris saw her mother fuming in fury he was not sure whether to cry or laugh. But what could he do her mother loved Eliza more than him. He also did not know what happened to Elizabeth abruptly.

Elizabeth finally stopped crying and turned her head to Dad looking at his speechless expression Elizabeth's mood lighten. She turned towards her grandmother "Grandma, dad did not do anything. I was just being emotional seeing you after a long time. I missed your warmth." The elders' hearts were beating happily this is the first time Elizabeth said such emotional words to them. Tears welled up in their eyes, they could not help but be emotional.

When Harris heard her daughter he felt at a loss it is his fault that Elizabeth missed the warmth. Probably she was missing her mom. The elders also feel guilty they know Eliza misses the mother's warmth but they did not visit her because she only once said she did not want to see them.

"My precious, We are sorry" the people who heard them including the elite leaders were shocked. To hear such words from the elder Smith are very rare after all they always being haughty and prideful persons.

"I... Grandpa Grandma, you do not need to apologize! I am being unfilial it has nothing to do with you. So there's no need for you to apologize! It makes me feel like I am an outsider" Elizabeth anxiously said to her grandparents. She does not want them to think they were the guilty ones. The elders gaze melted and become softer.

The people who were watching were in admiration looking at them lovingly family. Even the heartless console Oliver can be softhearted when it comes to his granddaughter.
