9 Chapter 9

(AN: Still Mu Bai's POV)

Every student entered their respective class and received some of the rules from the teachers before anything.

"Remember what I've told you before; try your best and be confident in yourself. I believe all of you have the power to pass the exam; it is the final moments before you showcase your hard work. release the lights of your stardust!" the homeroom teacher, Xue Musheng's face was filled with passion. He scanned his students, and he cheered them on as much as possible, both for his students' grades and his year-end salary bonus.

"All right, everyone gets lined up to get on the field." Xue Musheng concluded.

All 1500 students lined up in a block formation about 1 meter (3 feet approx.) apart. If someone flew over them, the formation had some unexplainably impressive and majestic aura; causing the person to be in awe.

As always, the principal got up and gave his usual speech.

"Today is an extremely special day." Mu He continued.

"That is because we have invited the most distinguished female Magician of Bo City. When she was 15 years old, the Empire Magic Institute made an exception and recruited her. I'm sure many of you have already heard of her legacy…That's right; she is Mu Ningxue! Please, let us all warmly welcome her, who should be the same year as you but is a Magic Genius who has already been promoted to university!" Mu He said loudly.

I applauded strongly with a bit of excitement.

As this was said, the entire a thousand or so people suddenly caused an uproar. It was cheering on an idol.

"Heavens, it's Mu Ningxue! I heard when she awakened the Ice Element, the power from it directly caused the grounds to freeze into ice blocks." (random girl.)

"Those are just rumors; I hold the most accurate info. I heard she only needed eight months to learn the primary skill of Ice element, Ice Scatter." (random boy.)

"Eight….eight months?! Heavens, I've already been in school for a year, and I have only been able to control five stars! How can the differences between people be so big?!" (girl.)

"These aren't even the important points, alright….the most important point is, she's also a beauty! She's good-looking and talented; she's the pride of Bo City!" (another random boy.)

I overheard the conversation and smirked at their admiration. 'Her talents are heaven and earth compared to you guys, not mentioning the powerful Mu Family.'

Many whispers passed around the crowd like ping pong balls. Many people knew her as being the most talented mage in Bo City, but they didn't know too much about her.

The beautiful figure walked toward the mic. Once she took a step closer, the air felt like it dropped by a few degrees. Furthermore, her snow-white and skin-tight dress made her look like an Ice Princess, and it attracted everyone like a charm. It made all the boys' eyes shine like a floodlight and made them think about her body. Her best feature wasn't her body and face. It was her hair. The long silver hair stunned many people.

I was also enticed by her beauty; it was as if a goddess came down to greet us. As the students and teachers heard her start talking; they were all silently shocked.

They've heard stories of Mu Ningxue many times, but they had never seen her before. Who would've thought her entire being was an ice fairy in a girl form, whether it was her temperament, attire, or her inherent graceful, silver, long hair.

This is Mu Ningxue?

Even her bones were emitting a noble pride.

Her speech was short, but it somehow encouraged people to think that they can make it into the Empire Magic Institute. Empire Magic Institute is the best college in the nation. Being recruited this young basically made you be known as a genius among geniuses.

I again applauded as if I was entranced. However, I heard a nearby familiar argument.

"Brother Fan, do your best in the next two years and enter the Empire. After entering Empire Institution, even if Mu Family's arms are long, they most likely can't reach there. By then… hehehe…" Zhang Xiaohou chuckled.

Just as the words left Zhang Xiaohou's mouth, Zhao Kunsan cut himself into the conversation.

"Don't make me laugh. After today, your Backdoor Brother Fan will be directly expelled from this school, so don't even think about the Empire Institution!" Zhao Kunsan exclaimed.

"Zhao Kunsan, are you sick or something? When did my Brother Fan ever offend you? Do you want to bark like a dog every time we say something?" Zhang Xiaohou had endured Zhao Kunsan for far too long.

"Xiaohou let's not get bothered by the fatty. Let him talk until he gets expelled. Just let the dog keep on barking, and then you can just show off your abilities." Mo Fan advised Xiaohou, knowing that the current argument is just a waste of energy.

"Mo Fan! Do you think you are someone? You came from a house largely built upon trash, and back then, you tried to act like you were good friends with Mu Ningxue until you kidnapped her from her father. You should be more clear on what kind of thing you are and stop your wishful thinking. It isn't going to get you anywhere. In school, you would sleep all day long no matter who was teaching the subject. With that attitude, do you really think that you can get into the Empire Magic Institute? Don't even talk about meeting Mu Ningxue!" Zhao Kunsan responded in anger.

Mo Fan ignored him. I stop Zhao Kunsan, knowing my bet will get us the last laugh. "Kunsan, no need right now. Just watch the show and then we will cheer as much as we want."

My sentence made Xiaohou glare at me, but I just ignored it. I returned my attention on the stage; I found myself chuckling at Mo Fan. 'It was Mu Zhouyun, someone who has a high position in the main Mu Family and the head of this branch of Mu Family. Mo Fan, explain how you are going to defeat that man?'

He was grey-haired and middle-aged with a wide and sturdy build. To many people, they respected him because he was the head of the Mu Family in Bo City. Since Mu Ningxue was known as the princess of the Bo City, Mu Zhouyun would be known as the king of the Bo City, and he can shake the whole Bo City with just one word.

Upon seeing him, I felt I was in the presence of an emperor; it was both awe-inspiring and frightening. Another thing that crossed my mind, when Mo Fan tried to kidnap the little naive Princess from Mu Zhouyun.

I turned my head to Mo Fan, interested in his calm face trying to hide his fear. However, instead, he had intense eyes and a near-evil smile on his face. "What are you smirking for? Are you that afraid that you turned dumb after that incident! And this low-life tried to kidnap the young mistress. What a shame! Boo-hoo. Your plan almost worked out." Mu Bai mocked Mo Fan.

"If I am trash, what kind of person would you be? You are just someone who acts like a gentleman in public trying to attract attention. Honestly, talking to you is a waste of my time." Mo Fan shrugged. He was annoyed at Mu Bai breaking his train of thought; he was going to think of insults on Mu Zhouyun.

I was enraged and looked at Mo Fan. Zhao Kunsan chimed in. "Do you have any ideas about how much the Mu Family can screw with you? If you were to screw with Mu Zhouyun, you are just digging your own grave!"

Xiaohou was ready to bark at the fatty, but Mo Fan reached out to stop him, and Mo Fan shook his head. "There is really no point in talking with two people who have no abilities."

Mu Bai was furious. "Do you think you are someone that has great abilities? I bet that today that you would be expelled in front of every student and teacher, and not to mention that Mu Ningxue would regret ever having contact with you."

I felt really pleased that my uncle had prepared Mo Fan a special gift for Mo Fan so that Mo Fan would be expelled. 'It is a day worth celebrating! With Mo Fan out of the way, I can conquer Tian Lan High School and Mu Ningxue.' I exclaimed in my mind.

Mu He handed me a Shadow Stone before the exam, and if it was placed near the Appraisal Stone, it can absorb parts of the mage's cultivation which can give the mage a worse grade. In Tian Lan High School, if a student were to get a D grade, they would be publicly announced as expelled. With the stone's help, Mo Fan would be known as a disgrace in society.

Halfway through the year, Xue Musheng actually tested everyone's cultivation, and he saw Mo Fan had okay progress in cultivating his Fire Element but lacked behind everyone else. Xue Musheng made Mo Fan stand in front of the classroom for the whole day. For Mu Bai and Zhao Kunsan, that day was one of their best days; they acted very smugly and happy while staring at Mo Fan.

Thus, with the power of this Shadow stone, you, Mo Fan, will be expelled from this prestigious school with ease. I reached into my pocket where the stone was supposed to be, but it wasn't there…

I was flooded with panic. 'How could I lose it? Where is it?'
