15 Zach Arrived

Denise Yan flinched a little after hearing the tone of Eunice's words. For some reason she felt intimidated seeing Eunice's sharp gaze. But remembering the scene in the red carpet that she witnessed in the live stream earlier, she regained her vigor fueled by her jealousy.

It is not unusual for a celebrity to follow a fellow artist and be a fan. Denise is one of them. And she is the most high profiled one among Eugene's fans. Everyone who followed the news in the entertainment circle knew of that fact. So when Denise approached Eunice, who arrived with Eugene, with hostility they all have a knowing look.

"Yes, you! Who else? You should know who I am and why I'm here, right?" Denise exclaimed in an arrogant manner.

"Sorry but I don't know you." Eunice calmly answered with neither humble nor arrogant manner. She sounded like she is just stating a fact.

The people around them who are paying attention to their exchanged collectively gasp as if what Eunice said is something unbelievable. Some form groups to gossip. Some on the other hand secretly took videos for fun.

"Did you hear that? She didn't know who Denise is!"

"Isn't that absurd? Denise is the best actress twice in a row. She even cast an international film this year. The news was so huge that even the kindergarteners recognize her."

"That lady must be living under a rock."

The hubhub of the crowd reached Eunice's ears. They were filled with disbelief and mockery as if not knowing who Denise is is a sign of ignorance. She inwardly rolled her eyes.

In fact Eunice knew Denise. But not as the glamorous best actress that the crowd referred her as. She knows her as the two faced and backstabbing traitor in her previous life. In her previous life, although she entered the event with Zach, Eugene was also with them. Right from the start she introduced herself as Eugene's sister so no misunderstanding was created regarding their relationship.

At that time Denise also approached her but with a warm smile as if they are long time acquaintances. She tactfully introduced herself and expressed her admiration towards her brother. She even openly expressed her desire to be her sister-in-law. At that time Eunice felt a connection between them since she is also pursuing a man so she also confessed that she is wooing Zach.

She could remember the look of surprise and awkwardness in Denise's face when she mentioned that the man she liked was Zach. Eunice didn't think much of it and just thought that she must have been surprised that she is aiming for such an outstanding man. She didn't know that it was because Denise and Alice have a good relationship.

Later Eunice and Denise started going out for meals and shopping. They shared their strategies in chasing their own male god. Eunice also helped Denise in approaching Eugene while Denise gave her advise in chasing Zach.

That went on until the drugging incident where Eunice end up sleeping with Zach. It was Zach who showed her the proof that the one who drugged her was Denise and intended to send her to the bed of an investor for her own benefits.

Afterwards, Eunice tried to link the incident to Alice after knowing that the two of them are actually quite close. She found proof that the two of them are secretly meeting behind her back. And Denise is actually a double spy but she leaned more in favor with Alice.

But would Zach let Alice be implicated? Of course not. He completely used Denise as a scapegoat and publicly showed her dirt online. She was revealed as a pimp who sent smaller artists to investors and high ranking officials to gain benefits. Because of that Eunice parent's thought that Denise victimized Eunice after she learned that a rich investor had his eyes on Eunice.

Eunice was indignant. She keep insisting on Zach that Alice was the one who wanted to harm her and demanded justice. Zach carefully coaxed her and explained that Alice is innocent. He also requested her not implicate Alice because her reputation is tied to their entertainment company's image. He was only able to appease her when he said that the incident was a blessing in disguise. Because of it they finally got together.

"I am Eugene Lin's fiancé!" Denise's blurted out in frustration. She actually regretted it almost immediately. After all she is not even Eugene's girlfriend. It would be humiliating if she is caught lying. But if it is the only way to make this d*mn woman back off then it is worth it. Even if the truth is revealed later on it doesn't matter as long as she could put a wedge between Eugene and this nobody.

Hearing her claim, Eunice raise her eyebrows in amusement. Her lips kept twitching because of her attempt to stop herself from laughing.

Unexpectedly the onlookers actually believed Denise's claim. The crowd then burst into a commotion. Most of them are congratulating her. Saying that she "finally did it". They are all aware how much effort Denise spent in chasing Eugene. At first many disdained her for being desperate. But later on they couldn't help but admire her resilience and end up rooting for her.

"No wonder there are more news about them being together. So they are already in a relationship."

"I heard Denise is not going renew her contract in her company. She would probably go to her fiancé's"

"That's a no brainer. Of course they can't let their fertile water flow to the other side. Denise is THE best actress after all."

"This is such a sweet story of a resilient girl chasing after her prince and finally winning him over. I want to chase my male god too."

"This actually made me believe in love again!"

Denise's initial panic and regret gradually diminished after hearing their congratulatory remarks and admiration. She almost forgot that she was lying. With a shy smile she thank them like a beauty queen who won a crown.

Beside her, Emily and Victor widen their eyes and gave Eunice a questioning look as if saying "Is it true?"

Eunice is at a loss for words as well. Denise's shamelessness rendered her speechless. If she didn't have her previous life's memory, she might actually believe her.

Just as she was thinking how to retort Denise, the crowd turned quiet but Eunice didn't notice it. Suddenly a magnetic voice sounded behind her startling her! In reflex, she turned around towards the source of voice but her heels caught the hem of her dress causing her to slip.

At some unknown point Zach finally arrived only to be greeted with a scene of people gathering around like watching a show. When he approach the crowd he realized that the center of commotion is Eunice. Thinking that she might be getting bullied he immediately went forward to mediate.

But after Zach said a sentence, he notice Eunice abruptly turned with a startled expression. Then she started to sway and was about to fall. Zach instinctively stretched his arms to catch her. And without thinking he pulled her towards himself in a tight hug.

"Are you okay?"
