24 Chapter 24 Void Scepter

Sneaking back inside the room, Althea took off her outer robe and directly went to bed.

Because she used all her energy and also a bit of flame dragon energy while setting up a barrier, she was exhausted. Without the help of Northem, it would be impossible for her to rearrange the Deception Formation as a low-level mage.

"This is the least I can do for grandfather for now", muttered Althea while covering herself with the quilt.

Now that Althea rearranged the Formation unless it's a peak divine level expert, it would be impossible for those below the peak divine level to break through the formation.

Althea knew that her grandfather is worried about her because she was once infatuated with Prince Nuthir. But, that was before she regained her memories. "Grandfather, I agree with Mother. Don't blame yourself over it, besides, I was the one who annulled the engagement"

Hruth Baro suddenly froze and after two breaths, he gave a faint smile, "It seems my granddaughter is not to be underestimated"

Hruth Baro leaned back on the chair looking at Althea. Both of them seemed to forget about Furiana at the moment.

Calmly pouring a cup of tea for Hruth Baro, Althea said, "If I m not mistaken, grandfather might have got some wind about the transaction between the southeast kingdom and the Beast Tamer Organization, right!"

Accepting the tea from Althea, Hruth Baro laughed out, "Haha.. as expected of me, Hruth Baro's granddaughter. Smart, you are right. I got some important information from a mole I placed inside the kingdom"

"What are you guys talking about?", Furiana asked with a look of confusion plastered on her face.

Looking at her confused daughter, Hruth Baro shakes his head, at this moment he didn't know whether it was the right choice when he decided to raise her far away from scheming people and the world, "My dear, you only need to listen if you don't understand"

Althea pursed her lips and didn't say anything avoiding the glances Furiana was giving her.

Looking back at Althea, Hruth continued, "You might have already noticed that something is going on between the Southeast kingdom and the Beast Tamer Organization. Three weeks ago, the spy sent me news about the transaction between them. It seems that bastard King Joryth Fasio offered something called the 'Void Scepter' to the Beast Tamer Organization"

Althea's grip on the teacup tightened after hearing the 'Void Scepter'. Others might not know what the void scepter is but, as a former sovereign of the Hall of Mage, Althea knew what it is and how important it is to the Beast Tamer Organization.

What surprised Althea the most is, how did something as important as the Void Scepter landed in the hands of the king of the southeast kingdom, Joryth Fasio!

One has to know that the Beast Tamer organization spent no less effort trying to acquire the Void Scepter. It is just too shocking to learn that the Scepter was in the hands of Joryth Fasio.

Noticing that Althea was in a daze, Hruth Baro coughed, "Althea, do you perhaps happen to know about this Void Scepter!"

Calming herself, Althea took a sip of jasmine tea and replied, "No grandfather, I have no idea what that Void Scepter is, its just that I was wondering why did grandfather planted a spy inside the kingdom because from what I know you and the king were on good terms. And also, to get hold of such information, it seems that the spy is someone who is holding a high position and had already taken its roots"

"Looks like I still underestimated you", Hruth Baro smiled.

"Although we were on good terms, King Joryth is someone who is known for his shrewdness. I couldn't trust him fully so, I planted a spy by his side so many years ago"

Althea understood her grandfather's action, "Grandfather if you can plant a spy by his side then he can too"

Understanding what Althea meant, Hruth Baro was about to say something to Althea when the latter abruptly sent out five energy beads consecutively from the tip of her fingers towards a certain direction.
