17 Chapter 17 Family

Althea opened the letter and read it.

It was from her Grandfather Hruth Baro, the clan leader of the Baro clan. The letter was about the annulment of marriage between the Luvan family and Fasio's family and his concern for her. Althea faintly smiled while reading the contents of the letter.

'It seems grandfather truly cared for me' thought Althea.

Reading down further, Althea said, "Grandfather wants me to visit the Baro Clan!"

Holding the letter, Althea hurried towards the living room.

"Where is my mother?" Althea asked the maid looking around the living room.

"Young miss, the lady is in the Moon Gazing Garden" answered the maid.

Althea turned back and went towards the direction of the garden.

Entering the Garden, Althea saw her mother tending the flowers carefully.

"Mother!"

Furiana turned around and looked at Althea who was panting. She hurriedly drops her works and went towards Althea.

"Oh dear, what is going on? why are you in a hurry?" Furiana asked Althea with a worried expression.

"Mother! Did you receive a letter from grandfather too"

" Yes, I got it yesterday. We didn't want to disturb your cultivation, that's why your father and I decided to deliver yours today" said Furiana.

"Grandfather wants me to visit the Baro clan. Do you know why? Did he mention anything to you in the letter!" asked Althea because her instincts tell her that things are not simple.

"Yeah, my father wants me to bring you to the clan. I think he is worried that you might be a little heartbroken and wanted you to get over it by traveling" said Furiana.

Althea didn't believe that's what her grandfather meant. With her years of experience, she knew that something is not right. Her grandfather might have something to tell her personally which he couldn't write in the letter because there is always a chance of a letter getting lost on the way and it's risky.

Althea knew that her grandfather would not call her back to the Baro clan after only a few months of the beast incident. And she was sure that Furiana was not aware of anything.

"What happened? are you not feeling well again!" asked Furiana after noticing that Althea didn't speak a word and was lost in thoughts.

Pulling herself back from the thoughts, Althea quickly replied, "No Mother, I am fine"

Althea didn't want to worry her mother, so she quickly changes the topic and asked, "When are we planning to start our journey"

"It's up to you dear, you can decide"

"What about tomorrow?"

Furiana was a little shocked, "Tomorrow!"

"Do you miss your grandfather that much"

said Furiana with a smile.

Althea decided not to tell her mother anything before they reached Twin Lake City, which is where the Baro clan is located.

"Of course I miss him"

"This time, Mother will make sure no one bullies you. If they do, you should tell Mother and your Grandfather. I am sure they will behave themselves this time since your grandfather had already punished them for what happened last time" said Furiana with a worried expression.

Althea knew that her mother blamed herself for the beast incident last time. But now Althea was not worried or scared about those cousins of hers. Who was she? she was the former sovereign of the hall of the mage, who can bully her. If they don't offend her she won't make a move, but if they do, she is going to teach them a lesson this time.

She wanted to teach those bastards a lesson after regaining her memories but she was told by her mother that her grandfather already punished them and since she respects her grandfather she decided to let go of the matter after all they are still her cousins. But if they still haven't learned their lessons yet, Althea wouldn't mind teaching them some.

"Don't worry mother, no one can bully me now" Althea assured her mother.

Furiana was about to start nagging when she heard a voice.

"She is already at the third stage of low level now. Do you think our daughter won't be able to defend herself this time with her strength"

Duriaz said while walking inside the garden. He looked at his wife and daughter and smiled.

"What! Althea you already broke through the third stage" Furiana was shocked after hearing what Duriaz said. It hasn't been long since she broke through to the second realm and now Althea was already at a third stage and she knows that Althea had a damaged spirit seed.

"Yes, mother. It seems nothing can go unnoticed in front of Father" Althea said with a grin.

"I knew it, my daughter is not trash like others say. Look, how many of your peers can break through to the third stage within a month. It will at least take a year, but Althea did it within a short period. My Lord, don't you think our daughter is a genius" said Furiana excitedly.

"Of course she is a genius, she is our daughter after all" Duriaz said looking at her excited wife.

Althea didn't know whether to laugh or cry looking at her mother's reaction. Her mother was sometimes like a small kid, naive and clueless about many things of the world. Well, it is to be expected because she is the only daughter of Hruth Baro. And she was raised well protected under the clan and had never gone out of the Southern region.

At this moment, Althea was a little worried about dragging down her family with her when she started her revenge with the Four Great powers. She knew that the path of revenge will be long and dangerous and she couldn't afford to lost her family in this life in the process of seeking her revenge.

What if her enemy used underhanded methods and harm her family!

In her past life, she had not seen her father and didn't know his name or anything about her father. Her mother never mentioned anything about her father and only told her that she doesn't have to know about her father because she will eventually come to know about him at the right time. As for her mother, she died in front of her and she was helpless and couldn't do anything. Sometimes she wondered if the dragon token is something left by her father because it was the only thing her mother treated preciously and pass it to her when she died.

In this life, she had a loving family and couldn't afford to lose a family the second time. She knew that only by getting stronger will she be able to protect her family and also uncover the secrets behind the dragon token.

When Althea was thinking about the future, she heard Duriaz say,

"Althea, don't you think its time for you to tell us about your improvement in cultivation and spirit seed!"
