38 Stephanie Refused To Accept Her New Identity

"Shut it or I will shut that mouth for you if you dare try to coerce me into revolting against my parents," Michelle said coldly. Although she has never once loved her parents because of what she went through in their hands, they were still her parents. Yes, she is heartless like everyone says but she will never lay a finger on them. She will only resort to that if they leave her with no other choice.

"Whoever that saviour of yours is, I will be eagerly preparing myself for his coming. And I promise you and everyone who is looking for my downfall, I will make sure I bring that saviour of yours to his knees in the presence of everyone," Michelle said coldly before she walked out of the dungeon elegantly.

"I wish you will be this confident when the time comes," the witch said in low tones as she grinned wickedly.

"What did she say?" The Emperor and Empress chorus anxiously when Michelle got to where they were standing. Michelle stares at them with a glare they couldn't understand.

"She keeps on spouting nonsense that I couldn't understand. I would have murdered her in there if it wasn't for your orders," Michelle said faking a smile at them. She knew they wouldn't confess to their crimes if she asked them so she did not bother questioning them.

"After hearing her spew so much nonsense I have become so hungry," Michelle said. She kept on repeating that the witch was spewing nonsense because she did not want her parents to guess what the witch must have told her.

Michelle walked out of the dark hallway when her parents did not question her further.

"According to Michelle's temper she would have battled with us right here if that wretched thing had told her about our plans, so I am sure she heeded our advice," the Empress said sighing in relieve.

"Why did the witch go easy on her? Instead of a scarred face, she should have cursed that vicious being to be reborn as the ugliest beast in the universe," Stephanie blurted out spitefully when the video on the wall stopped playing.

"If she had been cursed to be reincarnated as the ugliest beast in the universe that would have made you an ugly beast instead of a vampire, right?" The voice asked.

"You keep on saying that I am the lady in the video but how is that possible?" Stephanie asked staring at the last location the voice spoke from.

"Everyone thinks that a lady who massacred an entire kingdom is most vicious being but to me, she is a monster. I am nothing like her. I, Stephanie can never kill a fly not to mention killing a human being so how can you compare me to such a person? Don't you see the huge gap between my personality and hers? She is a total opposite of what I am," Stephanie said still unwilling to accept that she was the cruel lady in the video she watched earlier.

"Michelle tell me....,"

"My name is Stephanie Woods, I know we have the same face but stop mistaking me for her because I am not her," Stephanie corrected sternly. Mere hearing her call her Michelle makes her annoyed.

"Stephanie, what do you expect from a child in which a gun was given as a toy when she was just an infant? What do you think such a child will become when she is an adult?" The voice asked in anticipation.

"The child will either become a top assassin or a brave warrior depending on the moral lessons she was taught," Stephanie replied firmly.

"That is the case with Michelle. A little girl was given the greatest power in the world and all she was taught since infancy was how to kill. She was trained to be vicious so what did you expect from her?" The voice asked anxiously waiting for her reply.

"You keep on denying that you are not her but tell me honestly Stephanie how do you think you would have turned out if your powers were not deprived of you? What would you have done with those powers when those kids taunted you, threw fruits at you and call you all those despicable names?" The voice asked anxiously.

"Wouldn't you have snapped their necks, suck their blood till the last drop? Tell me you wouldn't have used your magical powers to make them blind, deaf, dumb or cripple forever?" The voice said provocatively.

Stephanie was short on words. She subconsciously covered her ears with her hands when she recalled how she was treated back then. Would she have held back like she did if she had possessed such awesome powers?

"And stop thinking that you are so pure because you are who you are today because of the vow she made?"

Even though the truth was presented right before her, Stephanie still refused to accept the truth. She will never accept such ridiculous identity.

"Didn't her father said earlier that she will live forever? So how on earth is she me?" Stephanie asked when she finally found her voice.

"If she was so invincible she should be alive right now or don't tell me the witch's prophecy came true?" Stephanie asked anxiously. When the Emperor said the Princess will live forever she had known that he was just bluffing and now she was right.

"All I can tell you is that you are her reincarnation, meaning that the two of you are the same people. The curse that the witch laid on the Princess earlier was the reason you had a burn scar on your face and like the witch had said it, after 11 years of being in anguish your scar got healed," the voice relayed. Stephanie stood up when she heard the revelation the mysterious voice just made.

For 11 years she had asked the voice countless times why her scars mysteriously vanished like it never existed but the voice had always told her that it was not time yet.

So everything I went through was because of some stupid mistake another person made? This is so unfair to me?

Stephanie thought gritting her teeth in anger.
