8 Ch. 8 [Thank You Sign]

"Yo! Altair Noah."

Noah's steps stopped as a baritone voice was heard calling his name from behind. Noah's tall stature turned around and caught a faceted face with black skin. His beautiful straight hair with shoulder-length certainly made girls feel jealous.

"Ethan Sullivan?"

Ethan Sullivan. He was the one who called Altair Noah earlier. The guy Noah used to replace at the basketball game. Even though he didn't do anything, just ran around following the crowd of athletic men.

"Today you have business with others?"

Immediately Ethan asked Noah. He stood in front of Noah, who was staring at him with an incomprehensible look. Ethan chuckled.

"What's wrong?" asked Noah.

"If you have no other business, I want to invite you to a cafe near here. As a token of my gratitude for helping the Peacock Team," he explained.

The image of a basketball game that he thought was very sad there filled his mind.

"No need," Noah said. He turned around and was about to step his feet again. "You don't need to thank me. I didn't do anything at the time."

Ethan, who did not accept it, again blocked Noah's path. He runs and cuts her way.

"Wait! I also want to apologize for what Jack did to you this morning!"

Hearing Ethan's words, one eyebrow rose and the other dropped. A face that really didn't understand the actions of the person in front of him.

"I don't need a representative like that either. If he feels guilty, then come face to face with me. You only did it on your own accord, not his will."

Stunned after hearing Noah's answer, Ethan's face turned red. Without thinking he turned up the volume and the volume and laughed as he put his arm around Noah's weak shoulder.

"Oh, come on! Why is it so hard to invite you to play! I'll treat you! Haha-!"

Noah faltered a little with Ethan's heavy arm clasping. That person was still laughing without the slightest feeling of guilt towards him.

"Well, even if you're from the son of a well-known company owner," Ethan said bluntly. However, Noah did not beautify his words.

"You know, my brother every day tells me to apply for a job there. Even though I'm still a 5th-semester student. I don't understand him, even though he's still in 3rd-grade high school."

His voice faded away and Noah returned to focus on himself. His thoughts now flashed to Ethan's arm, which felt strong and could make him breathless.

'The strength is different from before. Has he experienced [Awakening]? ' Noah thought after feeling the strength of Ethan's arm that was twice as strong as before. He didn't care at all about Ethan rambling on about him.

His eyes now caught one of Ethan's bandaged leg, but he was walking without a cane like this morning.

"A man like this has definitely experienced an [Awakening]," continued Noah, who was now starting to feel jealous of the person beside him.

The tall tower that was able to scratch the sky appeared after the earthquake. The death rate in this country is increasing and hospitals are getting more and more visited.

After being scrutinized by the researchers with the security of the army as well as the Hunter who was just appointed by the Minister of Defense, the black tower which had a lot of noise at the top had many rooms. It is said to be a floor, and there are over 1000 floors there.

The tower was now called the [Tower] which was filled with monsters after several Hunters entered the first floor of the [Tower]. Its origin is still unknown and there is no suitable clue to find the answer.

"That's an explanation from my sister, he works as a staff president," explained Ethan, who had been talking about the emerging tower.

Who knows since when they immediately changed the topic of conversation to the newly emerging tower? Indeed, the [Tower] became a hot topic to discuss, moreover, it had something to do with life and even personal magic.

"Has a Hunter entered the [2nd Floor]?"

Noah scratched his itchy chin. Then he sipped the hot coffee he had just ordered at a cafe near his campus. It happened that it was raining unexpectedly outside.

"There is a group of Hunters who are continuing their journey inside the [Tower], and until now they have not heard anything at all," he explained.

"The Hunter groups?" asked Noah. He missed the latest news because he was preoccupied with the [System] which somehow felt like he was playing with him.

Ethan was oh so happy. "You don't know yet? The government allows Hunter to form his own group."

"How can?" Noah frowned even more.

"Since the number of victims has increased, the government has made such a policy. He hopes that the death rate in this country will decrease."

Hearing Ethan's answer, it occurred to him that the academy had been planned by the government. Then, he immediately threw the question at Ethan, who had an insider to get a lot of information.

"Then, what does that have to do with the academy?"

Ethan slightly rolled his eyes. He had forgotten this important point.

"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you!" Ethan clapped his hand and made the people inside the cafe turn their heads towards him.

"Just now I got a call from my sister that the academy is still running and it will likely start today. So, you also have to get ready for the test, Altair Noah Ortiz."

Noah nodded his head before he noticed Ethan's words.

"-!"

What he had been sitting casually leaning against the back of the chair became steadfast as soon as he realized something Ethan was saying. His sharp gaze combined with the coldness made Ethan shudder with horror. Even though he was a [Berseker] type who was probably the highest class, still, bullying from a Noah could make him not dare to face off.

"How do you know?" Noah asked without lengthening.

Ethan scratched the nape of his neck which felt itchy at the moment. His eyes turned around and answered doubtfully,

"Well ... Who doesn't feel it because your strength is stronger than before?"

Ethan's answer caused his back to ask him to lean back. He leaned back and folded his arms across his chest. His gaze was still on Ethan, who had a lot of confidence.

'There's no way Ethan Sullivan is lying talking about this,' he thought. Ethan is an honest man. He wouldn't lie if there were no personal reasons.

"What kind of tests does the government carry out?" asked Noah.

Ethan shrugged his shoulders and raised his eyebrows. He replied,

"I don't know. But one of the Hunters managed to get the core [False] that had attacked Banssang City. It was [False Level B]."

"The point? You mean the mind-"

PRANG!

Before Noah could even ask questions, the sound of shattered glass became the center of attention. The cafe that Noah and Ethan were visiting was in ruins. Everyone near the window that led onto the street screamed in terror.

"O, LORD! WHAT IS THAT CREATED!?"
