4 Chapter 4

7:18 PM

Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York, NY.

In one of the biggest house in the neighborhood, a woman that seems to be in her thirties is pacing back and forth in the living room. She was slender and taller than average women, has long straight strawberry blonde hair that reaches down to her waist, and elegant eyebrows paired with her green eyes that was like an emerald. She has a fair and smooth skin like jade, even fairer than a painting. A thin but proud nose, that shows that she has the making of a queen, and cherry red lips, making her face more appealing than ever. She had her thin lips pursed, as if she was troubled. It was Zach's mother, Tracey Adams.

"Dear, when will they come home? It's already evening and I'm getting worried about their safety."

Tracey said worryingly, as she stopped walking and faced a man sitting on a couch that was watching a show on their 81-inch television.

This man has brown hair, blue eyes, and dashing eyebrows. Light tanned skin and straight nose, he has a handsome face with a gentle but serious temperament. His face has some lines, but that doesn't diminish his handsomeness. Instead, it made him look like a person that has gone through many experiences. He looked relaxed, sitting in the couch like he has no troubles in life. It was Henry Adams, the husband of Tracey and the head of the family's household.

"Don't worry hon, Zach already knows to always bring Mary home before 8 whenever he takes her out to play, right? So they should be already finishing whatever they're doing or they are already on the way home." Replied Henry as he continued to watch in their television. He even laughed at the funny scene of the show but he stopped himself, as his dear wife would get angry at him for not giving importance to the matter at hand.

Too bad for him though, as Tracey already saw Henry stopping his chuckle with the help of his red face. She gave him a glare, showing obvious irritation and hostility on her green eyes. Seeing his wife's reaction, he immediately reached the remote at the table in front of him and muted the television as he tried down to calm his wife.

"Come on, it was funny okay!" Henry muttered, trying to appease his wife's anger.

But he failed, big time. As Tracey even glared stronger at him, making her eyes scary than ever as she began saying his name slowly, "Hen—ry Ad—ams, will you talk to me seriously or do I have to make you?"

"Fine, I'll stop. I know you just worry for kids but they are already big enough, especially Zach. That's why we granted his wish of living in an apartment near his school right? Isn't it to give him a sense of responsibility and independence as he will be already a college student in a few months? Also, he will always take good care of Mary, as he adores his little sister dearly. Don't you think so hon?" Henry immediately said, making his face serious. But deep inside, he was stunned at the scene of his wife glaring at him. 'Oh God, she's really sexy whenever she glares like that.'

Hearing what her husband just said made Tracey calm down. She was not overreacting; she knew that Zach would take good care of Mary, not letting any harm come near her. She was just worried about the fact that he was still going through the pain of his best friend's betrayal. She wanted to do something to lessen his suffering, as she was his mother for Pete's sake! But her husband told her not to, making her want to beat him up to ask what kind of nonsense he was saying but in the end after some thinking, she agreed. As it was an experience for Zach to face the real world and know its bitter truth. Some people that you thought you knew the best, but in reality, your knowledge did not even come close to the surface as those were just masks worn by them, hiding their real intentions deep inside.

"Yes, I know. But I just can't help to be worried." Tracey said, her tone relaxing a little.

"I understand your point, as I'm also worried but what can I do? I can just wish that Zach would quickly get over it and learn from his experience." looking at Tracey's expression, made Henry sigh in relief. 'Even if my wife's so sexy when she's like that, I don't want to sleep in the living room tonight just because I pushed her button.'

Her husband was right, she would just hope for the best as replied, with hopefulness now in her eyes. "Yeah, I hope so too."

"So are we okay now?" He asked.

"Yes." Tracey responded, as a smile came to her lips.

"Really?" Henry said, his eyes filled with expectation.

"No, we are not okay. You think I didn't know what you were thinking about? You will face my back tonight at bed." Tracey said, with sharpness in her voice as she crossed her arms. Does her husband think that he will get away with deliberately making her angry? Thinking about his punishment, mischievousness can be seen in her eyes.

"Hey hon, don't be like this! You know that I love you so much that you look so beautiful whatever expression you make!" Henry pleadingly said, as he tries to convince his wife.

"Don't try to fool me Henry, you will face my back tonight and that's final!" Tracey replied as she turned her back on him and went to their bedroom.

But before she enters, she dropped a line that would make her husband restless. "Also, no touching."

"Ho—Wait what?! Hey hon that's foul play! You know that I can't sleep without you in arms!"

"Hey hon!"

"Hon! Are you still there?"

Bang!

But only the sound of the door closing answered him.

Looks like someone will be suffering tonight.
