Qi Ren and Qi Han

Qi Meng cultivated arduously every night non-stop. Days and even months passed by quickly and peacefully.

The Qi Clan's upper echelons are brimming with joy. Aside from earthly treasures, Qi Meng would toss away some of his pills and sacred elixirs.

Some maybe described as few generally, but its meaning varied when it came from Qi Meng. He had tons of those pills and sacred elixirs. Some were concocted by him personally, most were the stash he got during his adventures in his previous life.

It is truly a blessing for the Qi Clan this year.

"Elders, we need to prepare for our trip to Chu Clan next month. We shall be there 3 days before the occasion so we can show our respects to the Chu Clan's upper echelon." Qi Yu stated.

"Have you chosen whom of our young disciples are going with us on this trip?" The prime elder asked.

"We only need to bring with at least two of our best disciples. It would be Qi Ren and Qi Han." Qi Yu replied. All the elders nodded in agreement.

Qi Ren is the Prime Elder's direct disciple. At the age of 5 years old, his cultivation level is already at the early stage of the Dao Adept realm.

He would be the best candidate to be a prime disciple, but alas, the position of prime descendant is already in Qi Meng's hand.

Knowing that, Qi Ren is also a rare talent, a Heaven's Child.

This is one of the main factors that is causing Sect Master Qi Yu to be distressed that is why he is having high hopes that his son Qi Meng will also be gifted by the heaven's to be a Heaven's Child.

Qi Han, on the other hand, is Qi Ren's older brother.

Qi Han is already 7 1/2 years old this year with a cultivation level of early stage of the Dao Adept realm. He is a genius by nature.

But when his younger brother started to show signs of being a Heaven's Child, his limelight brilliance in the eyes of the clan had dimmed quite a bit.

And yet, all in all, the clan still favored him and is putting high hopes in him which makes him quite happy but a bit pressured.

He did not put it into heart and everybody in the clan could say how he truly cares for Qi Ren. What a perfect pair of siblings the Qi Clan has.

"Get Qi Ren and Qi Han to come in." The sect master ordered. "Yes sect master!" One of the young palace disciple near the entrance replied hurriedly.

Qi Ren and Qi Han walked into the palace hall shoulder to shoulder. Upon meeting the sect master and all the elders, the two young promising disciples bowed with their left hand over the chest and the other behind the back then greeted them.

"We pay our respects to the sect master and elders!" The two yelled in high spirits.

The sect master waved his hands and said, "The two of you will go with me and the elders to the Chu Clan 3 days before the end of next month. Go and prepare."

"Yes sect master. We will take our leave then." The siblings bowed again and then left the hall.

"Elder brother, have you been to the Chu Clan before?" Qi Ren asked after they left the palace.

"No, this will also be my first time going there. I heard from father talking to mother that our clan's prime descendant and the Chu Clan's prime female descendant are to be married in order to fulfill both of our clan's progenitors blood pact back then." Qi Han replied in calm manner.

Qi Ren turned his face to Qi Han with a curious look then nodded and did not further asked. They continued to walk and a few moments later they reached their courtyard.

"We are back." The two said upon entering.

"What did the sect master summoned you for?" Qi Ling'er asked. Obviously Qi Ling'er is Qi Ren's and Qi Han's mother and at the same time the wife of Elder Qi Du.

"The sect master informed us of the trip to the Chu Clan next month. We were chosen to go with him, together with father, master and the rest of the elders." Qi Ren answered promptly.

"Alright, your father had mentioned it to me last time. So the two of you were the chosen ones." The mother said with no surprise as of she had anticipated this would happen.

A while later, Elder Qi Du also came home just in time for dinner.

"All of you come, dinner is ready." Qi Ling'er called. "Alright, coming." All 3 guys replied.

At the dining table, all of them ate without a word. Qi Ling'er is smiling at them while eating.

After dinner, the siblings went back to their own rooms and cultivated. They did not waste any time and put great effort in it. It was the same everyday and they would cultivate until dawn. At day, they would spar with each other to enhance their martial arts and fighting techniques.

In their own room, Qi Ling'er asked her husband, "How is you cultivation level progressing?"

Qi Du replied, "I am almost there, maybe I would have a small realm break through before the visit to the Chu Clan."

"That is good to hear. When the time comes, do you think your strength will be enough to challenge Qi Yu?" Qi Ling'er asked.

"We still have a few years to prepare. If I could only get more portion of those elixirs and pills, then it won't be an issue." Qi Du replied calmly.

Back then, during the selection of the seat for the next sect master, Elder Qi Du contended with Qi Yu. Obviously he was not the match of the sect master at that time. Even though they were bought in early stage Dao Emperor realm, Qi Yu was already at the brim of break through back then.

Qi Yu is a genius while Qi Du is only an average cultivator.

With that said, Qi Yu had the advantage due to his younger age. He had more strength reserves than the aging Qi Du. The age gap was more than 10 years.

Elder Qi Du needs more of the pills and elixirs to catch up with the genius cultivator Qi Yu.

There would be a chance for every elder to challenge for the seat of sect master every 3 years.

A few months had already passed since Qi Yu's possession of the seat as the sect master. It was just a week before Qi Meng's rebirth when Qi Yu was announced as the new sect master.

Elder Qi Du and his wife was planning since then to challenge again for the sect master position since it is pivotal for their son Qi Ren's future. It would be a waste if Qi Ren as the Heaven's Child would not be the prime descendant.

Of course, after 3 years, they would know if the sect master's son, Qi Meng, will be a heaven's child or not.

If Qi Meng will not be as talented as Qi Ren, then even if Elder Qi Du lost to sect master Qi Yu by that time again, Elder Qi Du would request to the clan's upper echelons to let his son be the prime descendant. He will do everything he could to pressure down Qi Yu to renounce his position of being the sect master.

In term's of backing in the clan's upper echelon, Elder Qi Du is not any way lesser than the sect master. Qi Ren's master is none other than the Prime Elder Qi Mu of whom is also the son of the current Sect Forefather Qi Mo, which currently holds the most supreme position in the clan.

Although the rest of the ancestors were either the current sect master's parents and in-laws, the supreme authority is still held by the sect forefather.

With this backing, Elder Qi Du and his wife had started to plan for their next step in order to pave the way to their very talented Heaven's Child son Qi Ren.

However, Qi Ren was oblivious to all of whatever his parents are scheming.

For him, the most important thing is to raise his cultivation. If you say an ordinary mortal child loves to play, then Qi Ren himself loves to cultivate, a total cultivation freak.

His elder brother might not win him in this regard. He is still quite young after all.

That night, while Qi Ren was focused on his pain staking cultivation to achieve a small realm break through within the Dao Adept realm, a monstrous talent at another courtyard is also busy cultivating and is almost catching up with Qi Ren.

"Almost there, in just about two more weeks, I would be breaking through to the Dao Adept realm."

Qi Meng smiled as he thought and then continued to cultivate until dawn.
