1 Chapter 1
Naruto wakes up staring at a white ceiling as he groans at the expected pain that surges through his body. Blinking to the unexpected scene, he tries to recall what happened to him. With such thoughts he decided to talk to kurama about what happened when he got caught in the jutsu but to his surprise he gets no answer. Now growing a little anxious at the thought of losing his friend he tries calling him over and over again until he shouts out loud 'Kurama!'. He still receives no reply and decides to first get himself out of here before trying to figure out why he can't talk to him.
As he gets up even with the unimaginable pain through sheer willpower, he hears the door open. 'Ah! you're up already, with the way you were banged up we didn't think you will be waking up till another week.' the doctor says as he slowly moves Naruto back to the bed before examining him for any abnormalities. ' You shouldn't be moving with the injuries you sustained. i am going to tell you straight but you got multiple fractures all over your body, you're in no condition to leave the hospital anytime soon. The way you are, you would be lucky to leave within a month or two but that's not going to happen anytime soon so rest up for now. I'll tell them you're fine now.' The doctor leaves after telling him about his situation.
Naruto decided to listen to the advice for now as he could feel all his strength leaving him. But shrugging off the feeling as his imagination he falls to sleep.

Next Morning

Naruto wakes up to a face he knew very well but it felt a little off to him but he couldn't figure out where so he decided to think about it later.
"Gai-Sensei what are you doing here. I thought you would be resting by now but it's nice to see you like this again."
"What are you talking about lee. The flames of youth can never burn off. They burn ever brightly. But enough of that, are you alright. After that fight with Gaara, i thought you would be down but it seems the flames of youth still burn brightly in you."
"Lee?!!! What? Who? Me? Gai-sensei are you mistaking me for lee. It's me Naruto, don't kid around about such things and anyways where's Sasuke and shikamaru; i thought they would be here to see me as soon as i am up."
"Lee, yes i am talking about you, is everything alright. Are you sure you're alright because as far as i know there is no Naruto in the village and how could i mistake my own student for someone else. It would seem you need more rest; i will come see you later and make sure to not let the flames of youth within you wither." Gai says as he signals the reat to follow outside.

Outside Narutos room

"You need to check what happened with him immediately, I'll need to talk to the Hokage about letting a yamanaka look him over before it gets worse and make sure not to let him try and leave the hospital until he's healed." says Gai as he walks away heading towards the Hokage Mansion mumbling 'maybe shouldn't have let him use the Eight Gates when he was fighting Gaara and should have let him forfeit the match before it got that far.'
Shaking his head Gai thought 'No, that would have destroyed him completely if i did that but looking at how he is, i can't tell if i made the right call.'

Arriving at the Hokages Mansion.

'Hokage-sama may i enter' Guy says while knocking on the door.
'Enter' a voice replies from the room.
"Oh, Gai, what are you doing here, i thought you would be talking with your student since i heard he woke up and is in a pretty bad shape" The Third asks.
"Well, Hokage-sama, it's about Lee. It seems he thinks of himself as Naruto but as far as i know the Eight Gates shouldn't have such affects so i would like your permission to ask a yamanaka to help look at his state and maybe figure out what happened to him. It could be that due to the fight something may have happened to him but i just want to make sure that he's fine." Gai says as he gives a bow to the third hokage.
"No need for such things Gai. Here, take this to the yamanakas and I'm sure they'll figure out what happened, if not, fix the problem itself." The hokage says as he hands a slip of paper to Gai.

Back to Naruto

Shit what the hell is going on. First that weird jutsu, then this pain, then kurama not responding to me and now Gai sensei thinks i am Lee for whatever reason. But looking over it now, he looked exactly like the time before the war .... SHIT! How could i have missed something so obvious, he looked so much better than he was after the war and .... Neji .... Did i just gloss over Neji like he wasn't there... damn what is happening here. I need to take a look at how i am and also to give a look over how i look for Gai to mistake me for Lee.
But the strangest thing he said is that there is no ME here, that can't be right. Is it that weird jutsu that caused me to no longer be present back in the past as i am here or this is a different place or maybe this is weird ass genjutsu. Damn those genjutsu, can't ever seem to realise that i am in one. Now let's see, focus my chakra and .... wait... you gotta be kidding me, my chakras gone. Nonono this can't be happening.
Definitely a genjutsu, 'KAI!'. Shit! it didn't work. I guess i will have to check when i can get out of the hospital. For now i should get back to trying to heal faster and getting some much needed sleep to get over this headache.
