While I was checking my status Flora was resting on the ground of my cave. A while ago I found out I could will her in and out of the gem, which is very convenient for travel. Well, back to my status decision.

From what I could piece together from my ability's snarky comments regular people have their stats level up with them the more they use them. E.G. your intelligence increases when you learn something, or your strength increases when you lift something. Mine on the other hand just gives me points I can add into anything I want, which is a total cheat.

Now, I just got to choose what to spend my points on.

Patty could you show me what each stat changes.

<----->

Um... Hello, are you there?

<Apologies, I thought you were talking to someone else. Considering I don't have a name. Least of all, Patty.>

Well, I have to call you something.

<Why? To differentiate between the multitude of voices in your head?>

It's just weird to be talking to someone without a name.

<Fine, Patty it is.>

Well, can you show me what each stat does Patty?

I'll focus on everything below two hundred for now.

"Ugh ... It feels like I died."

Looks like sleeping beauty is awake.

"Probably because you did."

She jerked up, and stared at me.

"Oh, my gods, it wasn't a dream."

"Sorry to disappoint."

She started taking furtive glances at the tunnel that lead to the exit.

"If you wanna leave, go head. That is, if you don't mind dying - again."

Her eyes widened at that.

"What the hell are you talking about? I can handle monsters all the way down to the fifth floor by myself, and with a competent party all the way to eighth floor."

We were currently on the sixth floor, but I decided that it wasn't relevant to reveal that.

I tapped the jewel on the bottom of my wrist.

"When you died I brought you back with this. Unfortunately if you stray to far from me - or try to kill me - you'll die all over again."

All of this I was pulling straight from my scaly ass. Even Patty didn't know, or at least didn't tell me what would happen.

She stayed there thinking it over for a couple of minutes. Then looked at me, and gave me the sweetest smile I had seen in this fucked up world.

"You know I never did thank you for saving me."

You still didn't.

"So, I have a great idea that can benefit you greatly. Outside of this dungeon, and a little ways beyond the forest that surrounds it, is a town, and I know they'd love to know about a good and noble liz... person such as yourself. It is safe there, and more food than you can imagine. So, what do you say? Leave first thing in the morning?"

What I say is you obviously can't risk taking my bluff, so you'll lead me into a trap.

So, whatever you call scientists here can poke and prod me until you find a way out of your bind.

"We aren't leaving the dungeon."

"Okay, I'll get read... wait, what!? Why aren't we leaving?"

" 'Cause I wasn't born yesterday, and you aren't as talented at lying as you believe."

She literally opened and closed her mouth five times, completely speechless.

"Relax while you can, we're going hunting later."

"I will not take orders from a stupid, slimy reptile! You will take me ....."

Before she finished I willed her back into the gem.

"I'm not slimy."

A few hours later we were at a hidden tunnel I knew on the seventh floor.

"You're a little over six years old."

"Huh?"

"I know you wasn't born yesterday. The scales on your head have yet to reach full crest, but they are half-way there. Your coloration dictates you're an Akkedis, probably one of the Thirteen subspecies."

Ah, so this is her comeback she couldn't think of before. She feels inferior because a lower class species didn't fall for her lies, so she is trying to show off how smart she is.

"And?"

"And what? I just casually listed everything about you."

"Okay, then, what's my favorite food, time of year, color, or game? Just because you list facts that someone else - who probably risked their neck finding out - wrote in a book, doesn't mean you're special. Any dumb idiot can follow in the footsteps of someone greater, tell me when you went someplace untrekked before and discovered something new. Then, and only then, might I be impressed."

Her face turned beet red after that.

Hey Patty, can you show her stats to me cause she is in my party?

<Sure I could.>

Okay then.

.....

.....

.....

Um...why aren't they showing up?

<You asked could I do it, not whether I should or not. Would you like me to show you?>

There is no way in hell I like this, I bet this is Anavotis' work here.

Yes, I'd like to see her stats.

Patty, when I say mini status display all stats that drain.

<Understood.>

"Mini status. "

Health : 107 /107

Energy : 107 /107

Stamina :100 /100

"What was that?" Flora said looking at me.

"I wasn't talking to you."

"Great, now he's talking to himself." Flora said walking ahead.

I let her go, I had more important things to do.

Patty, show me a list of levels going to level twenty and show how much XP I have to earn for each one please.

1 : 100 11:1000

2 : 200. 12:2000

3 : 300. 13:3000

4 : 400. 14:4000

5 : 500. 15:5000

6 : 600. 16:6000

7 : 700. 17:7000

8 : 800. 18:8000

9 : 900. 19:9000

10 : 1000. 20:10000

After ten, it gets harder to level up, no wonder Flora is still at thirteen.

Patty, what monsters gives me the most XP excluding the boss on the tenth floor and anything under twenty XP.

<That would be : troll = 150

: hayra slime= 40

: bluecap = 20>

Only three?

<The multitude of monsters on the lower floors are the ones too weak to survive any lower. The only reason those three break past twenty is because of special abilities.>

"Where are we? We've been walking for a while now and no monsters have attacked us."

Flora spoke up, interrupting my conversation I was having with the voice in my head.

"We're in one of the many side tunnels. You don't have to worry about attacks in here, humans don't know about these tunnels and the monsteronite keeps monsters away."

Yes, I just smashed the words monster and kryptonite together, sue me.

"Monster what now?"

"Monsteronite, it's a mineral in the tunnels that give monsters a bad feeling like something really big is stalking you or something. I found out about it when a couple of kobolds chased me in here, but wouldn't follow."

"If it drives monsters away why not you? And you really suck at naming things."

<I agree with her on that.>

Not now.

"It does, I just ignore it. It beats the alternative."

"Why where those kobolds chasing you? I've heard of Leviathan class Monsters sometimes preying on fellow monsters of the same rank, but not kobolds. Monsters only prey on monsters weaker than themselves."

<Maybe you shouldn't be sharing all of this information .>

"I was born different. I'm smarter than most of my monster brethren, but I'm a constant target."

"Do you know what this means?"

"Yeah, I'll always be hunted and alone."

"No, well yes, but it means you're a new sub-species! And I get to name you!"

"Yeah, I don't think...."

"I'm thinking Flora Flora, or The Great Flora lizard."

"Yeah, not gonna happen."

Not funny Patty!

"Well, since I answered your questions, answer mine."

"I guess I could do that."

"How did you increase your energy level so high while still being a low-level?"

"Level? What are you talking about?"

Patty, show her status to her if you can.

Flora's eyes got as big as saucers when a status screen appeared in front of her. "Holy shit! Our progress can be displayed in numerical value so easily? This is so cool."

"Yes, I agree, but as to the answer to my question?"

"What? Oh yes, I kept constantly putting a drain on it. Everyday I would use my ability to kill monsters without stop, that is until my personal guards betrayed me. If I knew their names, I would spit on them!" Wait, she didn't even know their names?! I can see why it was so easy for them to betray her.

Patty, is there anyway I can change to the form that redirected her lightning attack, but instead of letting it out can I retain it until I let it out via touch?

<Yes, I will include organic capacitors. The form will drain one energy per minute.>

That's the idea.

My body transformed in an instant.

"So, that's the form you used to kill me. I was wondering if I hallucinated it or not."

"Yes, and I need you to shock me again."

"Fuck no, I'm trying to avoid dying, hence the reason I'm trudging down here with you instead of going home."

"Well, I'm not going to revive you just to kill you."

"Fine, {shocking fingers}."

Arcs of electricity shot from her finger tips and hit me. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes, until Patty told me I was at full capacity.

"Okay, you can stop now."

"Finally, I thought you was gonna tap me dry."

"We're going to the eighth floor."

"Why?"

"Cause we're hunting bluecaps today."

"Why the hell would we fuck around with those fuckers?"

"Farming."

"What does growing plants have to do with what we're doing?"

"No, it means we're gonna kill the same type of enemy just to level up."

"And this 'leveling up ' has something to do the numerical values I saw on that status screen?"

"Yes, every creature you kill gives you experience points - or XP - after a certain amount of points you level up."

"And how many bluecaps are we looking to kill?"

"As much as we can."

__________________

After a couple of minutes we reached the eighth floor. Unlike the rocky and creepy first through seventh floors the eighth is covered in glowing fungus, plants, and moss. Within this glowing forest the bluecaps live.

Bluecaps look a lot like rabbits, except instead of cute fluffy ears they have a blue mushroom cap with a little flame on top, they have razor-sharp claws, a mouth filled with fangs, and they stand six feet tall on all fours.

But all that aside what makes them really dangerous is their illusions, when they get disturbed the tiny flame on their head gets bigger and they can release illusions so real you'll think you're at the beach enjoying a Mai Tai up until the point they rip you into shreds.

But their abilities have a range limit, and when they die it fades.

"Here's the plan, I'm gonna go down while you lob magic from here and tell me where they are."

"Are you sure? Not that I care, but if anything goes wrong ...."

"It shouldn't, I'm strong enough to resist any illusions they put me under."

Without waiting for her to ask another question, I charged toward a pack of three bluecaps that was about a hundred yards away.

Due my high-speed I got about fifty yards before they noticed me.

Before I could blink, I was in a hotel room with five shorties butt-bone naked with the biggest tits you can imagine.

"Come on daddy, we just got finished running a bubble bath."

(Bimbo 1)

"And I want to show you how long I can hold my breath under water."

(Bimbo 2)

"Can you massage my breasts? They're a little sore from me playing with them all the time."

(Bimbo 3)

The other two where too busy kissing to talk.

Finally, I made it to heaven.

I was about to turn off my ability to touch them with out electrocuting them, when I felt rather than heard a large explosion.

So, they only affect hearing and sight.

I started running again, until I ran into something, and felt some of the electricity in me leave.

I was abruptly pulled back into reality.

A blucap lay at my feet fried to a crisp, another was a few feet away squashed, and the last one was hopping around trying to avoid the magic bubbles that caused his comrade's demise.

Unfortunately for him, he wasn't paying attention to me.

I ran and jumped on top of him letting loose a couple million volts, frying him.

"Mini status."

------------------

Health:107 /107

Energy:77/110

Stamina:87/103

------------------

Yes! Some of my stats went up by themselves. My stamina went down some though, that's weird considering my Akkedis body normally doesn't use that much stamina. I guess breaking outta that illusion took more outta me than I thought.

"We actually took down three at the same time with only two of us, without someone dying!"

Flora said running up to me.

I bent over and took their mana hearts out, and gave one to Flora.

"You're giving me one?"

"Yes, you work with me, and I split the drops."

"No, you misunderstand. I meant why are you only giving me one? I deserve two."

"I killed two though."

"Only because I was distracting it with force bubble."

"Well, I'm in charge."

"Only because you killed me."

"I reflected your kill attack."

"Which I only shot off because you showed up."

"And you think it's okay to kill anyone who walks up to you?"

"When it's a monster, I think I'm validated."

I can't believe her.

"I'm the leader here and what I decide is final, and what I decide is you keep what you kill."

"Fine."

"Fine?"

"Yes, fine. {Force bubble}."

Right behind me a blucap that had walked out of a side cave was turned into pizza.

"A little warning next time! You could have hit me!"

"Why? So, you can kill steal."

"I'll have you know I've met monsters nicer than you."

"Those were the ones that died fast, right?"

"That's not the point."

We continued arguing like that while moving on to hunt some more.
