Shen Yin's Pov

This morning was sure rough. On the very fist class, Teacher Zhou has already yanked three core pupil out the window for talking back to her. A total of 27 left were punished to stand out in the hallway for standing up late when told. She is a fearful force that students ought to watch out for.

'Though it's kinda evident that she's venting out Yuhao's anger for him. The people she threw out the window all had some bad history with Yuhao.'

The results of Teacher Zhou's dominating attitudes was beautiful. No one would misbehave from then on in fear of punishment. After classes, Yuhao and I would walk together to the Spirit weapon building to learn about soul weapons from Teacher Fan Yu.

Me and Yuhao would continue this routine of going to the Spirit weapon building to learn about Spirit Guidance weapons with Cai Tou whom I got along with despite having completely different personalities. Both of us did have something in common, that being Yuhao, who is important to us. We had our way of supporting him from behind the scenes.

However, since I was still a core pupil of the Wuhun group, I wasn't able to attend every spirit weapon classes with Yuhao. I did manage to keep up thanks to my higher comprehension and fast learning ability. Yuhao did help me in keeping me up to date with the lessons he learnt there while I aided him in practicing learning about close combat. Both of us benefited from this.

Our rare body essences was the key factor in our practices. My analysis ability would spot any mistakes he made in both body movement while his spirit eyes helped me to focus when forging the cores. Through this, both of our relationship became better. I informed Yuhao that there was another use to the pin I gave him before. I learned from Lei that there was the possibility that Yuhao could get in touch with me through the pin. All he needs to do is inject some spirit energy into the pin and use his thoughts to send me short messages. I told him that no matter the distance, I will definitely go to him whenever he needs my help.

Regardlessly, I didn't forget to cultivate and train. My spirit level went up by 2, making me rank 44, spirit ancestor. I was satisfied with this somewhat decent advancement.

At the moment, Yuhao and I were busy craving the formation on the core. We neither spoke or communicated with each other and gave our total attention onto the stone in front of us. Beads of sweat would quietly flow down our faces but we didn't even bother to wipe them away. After about an hour or more worth of concentration, Yuhao was the first to finish.

"Master, Senior brother, I've succeeded." Yuhao celebrated his success with the others as I continued to work on mine, blocking out all voices.

It took me a few minutes later to complete mine. "Teacher Fan Yu, I have also completed mine." I turned around and showed it to him. I injected some spirit energy to show that it works. Unlike Yuhao's core, mine emitted a silver ray of light.

"Well done, you have also made a grade 2 soul weapon core." Teacher Fan Yu compliments me.

Yuhao: "Congrats, Brother Yin."

Cai Tou:"Good job, Shen Yin!!"

Shen Yin: "Thanks. Congratulations to you, too, Yuhao."

Yuhao: "Thank you."

"Shen Yin, didn't the head teacher call you to see him." Teacher Fan Yu remind me.

"Ah, that's right. Then, I'll be heading out first. Bye."

I ran out and head towards the head teacher Du's office. I knocked on the door three times, informing him of my arrival and ask for permission to go in.

"Come in."

"Good afternoon, Head teacher Du."

"Student Shen Yin, are you aware of the reason as to why you've been called?"

"No."

"Actually, there's someone who wants to see you."

At the corner of the room, I saw a familiar person.

"Hey kid, it's been awhile."

"Xuan Lao. It has been some time. How have you been fairing?"

"Haha! As polite as ever, I see."

"Then, why is it that you wish to see me? Surely it's not just because you want to see me." I ask bluntly.

"Getting straight to the point already, I like that!! Do you still remember my words from before when we met?"

"Do you mean...."

"Yes, I have decided to take you in as my disciple. You won't reject me right?"

"...This disciple greets master." I knelt down as part of formality when acknowledging a master.

"Good! Good! I will definitely treat you well but remember I will also be harsh and strict with you so be prepared! Your training will begin during your vacation so that means no rest for you! Do you have any objections!"

"None!" I said with resolution. This is the best way to become stronger. Xuan Lao's teachings will help me improve by leagues.

In class...

"After your vacation, it will be your advancement test. Everyone needs to face at least a 100 year old spirit beast by himself. If your score is lower than 80, you will be expelled. If your score is within the lowest 20, you will also be expelled. There are no exceptions, that includes you student Shen Yin." Teacher Wang announces to the class.

'The learning environment of Shrek is very cruel. No matter the result, 20 people will still be expelled.'

"I think, no one here wants to get the lowest 20 because of their mistake. I think everyone in this class will remember that. So I propose the most important time will be your vacation time. Unless you don't want to continue studying at this school, you know what you need to do before returning." Teacher Wang smirks, "That's all I have to say. Class dismissed! Go back and pack your things."

'Well, I'll be training with Master Xuan Lao during this vacation so nothing had changed for me.' I went back to my dorm room. I will be the only person within this entire dormitory during vacation. *sigh*

I then told Xuan Lao about my circumstances, the same story I shared with Teacher Zhou.

"I see. No wonder you have a 10,000 year old ring. You've been through so many hardships at such a young age."

"Actually, I now have a third spirit essence and another 10,000 year old ring."

"Pfft! *spits out the alcohol in his mouth to the side* another 10,000 year old ring!! A third essence!! Tell me more!!"

I repeated the explanation I used for Teacher Zhou. My spirit essences, the rings and my evolved tool spirit.

"Haha!! You have so many surprises!! It wasn't a mistake accepting you as my disciple. A beast spirit essence with Absolute Wind element, a tool spirit essence that evolved and an extremely rare body spirit essence, you're the very definition of a full package. It's Shrek's greatest luck in having you as a student."

"Thank you."

"Now let's get to work. For now come at me with all you got."

"Yes, I will not hold back."

Without restraint, I launch my strongest tool spirit attack,

'Dawn Sky Wind Glaive 4th skill:' Torrential Tempest of Blades'

Thousands of air blades shot out from both sides of my weapon. The spaces between each blade is so small that it's almost impossible to dodge unless you're out of the attack range.

"Oh, already starting with a 10,000 year old spirit ring skill. So feisty, I like that." As I predicted Xuan Lao had no problems blocking them with ease.

'Dawn Sky Wind Glaive 3rd skill: 'Land of Nightmares'

This attack also had little to no effect on Xuan Lao as he woke up from the nightmares easily.

"This time it's a mental type attack. It will be very effective on many people who are inexperienced with mental type attacks."

This will be a hard spar, two of my strongest attacks are already rendered useless against him. Guess I'll have to use close combat. I know I'll lose but I want to deal a much damage to him as I can.

Charging ahead, I held onto my weapon and fought against Xuan Lao. My spar with him went on for hours with me attacking but Xuan Lao was only blocking or dodging. I didn't even land a single hit on him.

"Your attack and speed are excellent but it seems like you aren't using them efficiently. Go back and rest. We'll start again tomorrow." Xuan advises before leaving me laying panting on the floor. That was intense.

In the coming morning, Xuan Lao would question me about all of my rings and skills. After knowing that I didn't have any rings for my divine eye because I was mostly focused on my weapon, he took me out to the forest to get my Divine eyes' first spirit ring. Forget about resisting, the 2000 year old Lunar Moon demon. My first divine eye spirit skill turned out to be more useful than I initially thought. Xuan Lao is good at selecting a ring that is compatible with my spirit essence.

For most days, I would continue to train my body and proficiency with the glaive while not forgetting to cultivate. Xuan Lao taught me to use everything in my arsenal to the fullest without wasting a single movement. My every action must take me a step closer to defeating my opponents. I would fight everyday with Xuan Lao or on my own until I couldn't move a single limb of my body. Sometimes, I'd end up with scratches, bruises and other wounds after our spars. I made a breakthrough a few days ago and successfully became rank 45.

On some occasions when I get day offs from Xuan Lao, I would continue my studies about spirit weapons with Teacher Fan Yu. A bit different from senior Cai tou and Yuhao, I am more interested in making general devices like my storage ring. I have been practicing in making a prototype based off from the one I have now but nothing seems to work. I have several failed creations from my little experiments.

In a blink of an eye, vacation had ended. One by one students would return to school and make sure to report to class on time. Wang Dong had returned and asked me about Yuhao's whereabouts but I told him that I wasn't aware of where he went even though I actually do. I told him to not worry about it too much and that Yuhao will probably return soon.

3rd Pov

Yuhao returned to school and reported to his teachers, informing them of his 2nd spirit essence and how he got it.

"This is too rare, how did your body hold up?"

Yuhao: "That...I don't understand too. Maybe it's because I got another spirit bone."

All except Yuhao: "What another spirit bone?!!!"

Yuhao: "It may be because of what happened before seeing that ice scorpion. It's a thousand year old spirit bone." Yuhao proceeds to explain how he killed the beast and his imitation ability. Changing himself into Wang Dong and his rings into crimson.

Teacher Zhou: "I see. You and student Shen Yin went through a very similar situation."

Yuhao: "What about Brother Yin? Is it related to his 10,000 year old spirit ring?"

Teacher Zhou: "Seeing as you are close with him, it's probably alright to tell you." Teacher Zhou then informs them of Shen Yin's journey during the New student examination and tournament. She left out his backstory because he specifically told her to not tell anyone about it. She thought that maybe as their friendship grows stronger, he will reveal it to them sooner.

Fan Yu: " We suspect that after absorbing the ring, his daggers underwent a revolution. Due to his daggers not being capable enough to handle the total spirit energy, the rest of the energy was taken into his soul directly, thus becoming his third essence."

In the following day, every student in class one has finally reported in. A lot of classmates were worried about Yuhao not appearing the day before and asked him about it.

Teacher Wang: "Regarding the advancement exam, it is extremely important to each student. If you don't pass, you can only pack your bags and go home."

Teacher Zhou: "Your exam will be at the Spirit beast district. In the exam, you will be fighting a spirit beast one on one."

At this point, the students except a certain few were panicking as they have never fought against a beast before.

Teacher Zhou: "You exam will be judged by a high level instructor. If you pick a weak spirit beast, we will see it as a failure. If you pick a spirit beast that is too strong, you may lose your life. This test is to show your control and attack ability. It does not mean if you lose the battle, you fail. How you perform in the battle is related to the highest score you can obtain..."

Just as Teacher Zhou was explaining the exam to the class, a teacher had to interrupt the lessons. Shen Yin knew what was going to happen and wasn't worried at all. He thought it was funny that one of his classmates suggested Yuhao to escape through the window.

Everyone was taken to the Spirit beast facility for the Advancement examination. Shen Yin was walking alongside Yuhao and his friends until Dai Hua Bin came to find trouble with Yuhao. Shen Yin did defend Yuhao at the time but the wager was still made between them. It was only after Teacher Wang apoeared that instead of the reward from the new student tournament being the prize, the loser will have to bow down and apologize to the winner.

Yuhao was the first to go fight but his actions results resulted in every beast fainted out of fear and pressure emitted from his fake 100,000 year old rings. Due to that, the exam was postponed until 2 days later.
